Too Precious to Contain

Perfume of tremendous worth,
Emptied from an airtight jar,
Left a sweet fragrance in the air,
As roses on a spring morn.

Promptly brought a harsh rebuke,
Labeled as a wasteful sin.
Others had an insightful view,
It’s too precious to contain.

Basic goods must always flow,
Not withheld with selfish greed,
By the “haves” from the “have not” poor
We must respond to their need.

If

Nothingness

It's hard to zero in on nothingness;

That word, spun by my thoughts, does not compute.

Was born to see and feel a 'somethingness';

My senses all are mired within that root-

And empty, zero, naught- are not acute.

For nothingness, I think of cosmic space

Beyond known stars and planets- what I'd face!

So difficult to think about a void

Without some

Words Contain Power

Words contain power and vibration
The positive one's bring elation

So spread happy words everyday
Take care what you think, write and say

Then your soul will shine bright
Your heart will feel light

And all in your world will be right

I hate visiting Uncle Dwain
His farting just drives me insane
When he drops a bomb
I just glare at mom
Cos in my chair I must remain

He say kids are seen but not heard
I sit and daren’t utter a word
Don’t care what he thinks
I know his butt stinks
And think he smells like an old turd

My covid mask’s far from beguiling,
Behind mine I’m happy and smiling,
I’ll put my mask on,
Till covid risk’s gone -

My heart can’t contain you
And all that is new
I suffer this pain though
I allowed it to grow
I reach in the shadows
But can’t find the paddles
I feel I would drown
But you peered around

Your strength is profound 
It holds me together
