Conspicuous Consumption Poems | Examples

You Reap What You Sow

If you plant dummy politicians
in the field of politics,
you will just feed on
decaying policy or corruption
the result is inevitable,
individual adaptation,
dramatic rises
in conspicuous consumption
social destruction,
and eruption,
the final stage,
reconstruction

La-Di-Da Land

La-di-da land

In la-di-da land
The style is grand

The people are presumptuous
And their spending ostentatious

Their language is grandiloquent
But their thinking faculty is somnoluent

There, the smallest animal is elephant
And their look is elegant

The people love conspicuous consumption
And at all times, they crave for sweet sensation

Conspicuous Consumption

Conspicuous Consumption
Look at all I have
I've got money burning
In this power grab
Between the haves and have nots
I'm one of the haves
Enjoying this life of luxury
Sitting in its lap

Conspicuous Consumption
Take a breath and breath in deep
Take as many as you want
Although this stuff ain't cheap
Money is no object
It means nothing to me
Now that you ask, yes Virginia
Money does grow on trees

Conspicuous Consumption
In this world of give and take
If it's no longer suitable
It becomes throw away
Even if you tire of it
No need for it to break
Conspicuous Consumption
The phrase of the day

Trump Bothering Everyone

Trump Bothering Everyone

Guess I must make another assumption
Trump is example of conspicuous consumption
With a big plane parked out on concrete
And him being a moron we have to meet.

To another fact I have become resigned
Of course again Trump will change his mind
Calling judge a man who is from Mexico
Yet born in Indiana and up there did grow.

Whatever he had said seems to be a beaut
And not quite sure what he wants to refute
Bad habits like his and each one has become
From people who decided that he is dumb.

If of common sense he were to have a grain
Instead of trying to drive all of us insane
Who many stupid ideas he has fathered
We feel unpleasant and are being bothered.

Incite a Big Riot

Incite A Big Riot

A big riot he always seems to incite
And so to our party shall not invite
Much better person could chose to be
Some person normal like you and me.

Have soft, smooth voice and will smile
Never putting our patience on trial
That does by his each word and sound
Continually confuses and does confound.

He does drop in with his huge big plane
May mention many things that are mundane
And we must make the usual assumption
Another example of conspicuous consumption.

What does he now want from us this time?
Being big Billionaire and us without a dime
Is absolutely no way we can relate to you
No way he can make our dreams come true.

Hillary voted to have in our lives instead
Even if her husband likes to stay in bed
So this poem of mine to you have sent
Thanks for making Hillary next President.

Never Forget Jesus

Was Christmas A Hoax

Me into Christmas wife was trying to coax

And I had been convinced it was a hoax;

Something else it was a substitute for;

Should be God's Son to worship and adore.

People bought up gifts with much gumption

Assumed was for conspicuous consumption

If anyone's spirits you really want to lift

Better be sure to get the a great, big gift.

You know all the gifts were store bought

And reason for Christmas we just forgot

Greatest gift should have been God's Son

God wanted to be the most important one.

Somewhere message we must have missed

While under mistletoe we often had kissed

But wouldn't it have been so nice and kind

If thought of God's Son never left behind.

Poems Like To Loom

Poems Like to Loom

So should I be pleased with the presumption
You could call this conspicuous consumption
How long would you have to rattle a sabre
After learning wife had just gone into labor.

I finally have forgotten all the furious fuss
When they discovered I was ambidextrous
And if I now had a fair amount of vigilance
Maybe might severely affect consequence.

Finally, completely came back to my senses
As soon as I was interrupted by suspense's
Makes no difference how much money I paid
Eventually into my fantastic fortune did fade.

For me, whole life by God is greatly planned
Why should I even start trying to understand
I may flimsily fuss and then frantically fume
My poems like to loom while flowers bloom.
