The rich man sups his Cognac
As he sits and relaxes
Complaining in his mind about
The level of his taxes,
Congratulates himself
On the amounts
Secreted away in
Offshore Accounts,
Wines and dines his Advisor
Just to show his thanks.
The poor man shows his gratitude
For his local Food Banks.
Both profess Christianity
Which seems an oxymoron
Or are the Camel and eye of needle
Out of date and long forgotten.

contemplative, reflective, thoughtful, pensive, introspective spring
surveying her meadows and woodlands, encouraging the daffodils,
lilacs, violets and fresh mosses.
She encourages and enthuses her verdent greens to do their best.
Buds are starting on limbs, tiny leaves are beginning to appear.
She congratulates herself, again a success, loving her occupation.

I buy her the prettiest things he congratulates himself.
Why does she never wear any of them?
He tries so hard, she thinks. But I hate grays and tans.
Why does he never buy himself anything with color?
Why does he never wear the clothes I pick out? She wonders.
Where is that red shirt with the flamingos and macaws?
They keep these disappointed thoughts to themselves.
Neither one wanting to hurt the other one’s feelings.

lovely words prance into her mind at night
spiritual guide helps with all of their might
exotic phrases dancing big and bright
but some disappear into the morning light
creativity resounds within thee
the maestros who understand let her be
she writes her poetry with insane glee
crazy ideas wonderfully free
the missives are coming in three’s and two’s
fantastic ideas, they cannot lose
imagination echoes from her muse
amazing effort as the day is done
Celtic poetry in the rising sun
congratulates self, in honor of one

The python comes with cameras
Offers to take photos of lion’s family cabs
He admits and congratulates the python
Then when he opens his eyes to see things
He sees whole family in the python stomach
The foolish lion keeps singing
The flood comes with canoes
Asks to carry lions’ subjects to safe land
He welcomes the mercy of the floods
Then pocks his ears expecting good news
He hears mourning-cry of drowning subjects
This foolish lion keeps singing
The future comes with biscuits in bags
Tells lion to exchange them for idle bushes
He hugs the future praising it for its charity
Then he waits for future to go, get and go
He sees the future overstepping the deal norms
But the foolish lion keeps on singing
Then death comes dressed in golden linen
Invites lion to enroll his family as choir of angels
He welcomes holy gestures of smart guest
Then he sits waiting for angel-choir to appear
A shock! Disarmament, paws, jaws plucked
Foolish lion weeps bitterly to the zoo

I’m led on the floor
and it is a bore
I look at the dust
I look at the door
flimmin’ sciatica
soars again
never felt crappier
hoarding pain
Try giving birth
women are thinking,
I can’t do that,
what are you drinking?
stupid comparison
can’t be compared,
I've no lady parts
I’m somewhat impaired,
You're designed to give birth,
it’s actually natural,
so I say it’s worse
getting hit in the sacktual.
The body doesn't protect the balls,
the only vital organs not indoors,
no adjusting in our body, we don't learn or prepare,
breathing control, contractions, or you're almost there,
no experts to care, midwife just there, we don't even swear....
just get hit in the bollocks from out of no where!
There's no wonderous magnificent little life that rewards,
we don't see doctors or ambulance it to hospital wards,
no luxury, that "blame put on us",
and no one gifts or "Congratulates us",
at least women have an upside, something good,
we just worry if it's deadwood.

A science teacher (of all people) taught me
that triangles and squares were once in unity
they were lines that cosied together
like a fistful of newly risen feathers
But the triangle became infatuated
with the wedge between two numbers
on a clock and it graduated
The square crushed crazily
on the symmetrical corners of a box
and grew three more lines fatally
a mathematician congratulates the tringle and square
for their courageous transformation- they cannot compare
a philosopher considers
that the shapes could get the jitters
a romanticist mourns the loss of two lines
who were as interlocked as vines

The hot white lights shining down on your face.
The warmth of the microphone you're gripping so tight in your hands.
The loud beat of the drums and the loud stings of the strings on the guitar.
You stand frozen on the stage.
The crowd cheering you on.
Singing along to the beat of the acoustics,
The crowds cheers die down to listen to the hypnotic music.
Your heart is beating so fast.
You finish your song and head back stage.
Met by your agent,
he congratulates you and hands you a cold bottle of water.
You did it, you over came your worst fear.
You preformed on a stage.
And everyone loved you!

So concerned with the skill
But anyone's skilled with language
Everyone knows the power of will
Though words rarely show knowledge
So i say screw the pettiness of being clever
I say screw those who value wit over truth
Why do we appreciate those under cover
Yet we let them hide because that's just youth
We could read a page of "smart" quotes
I could litter a textbook with highlighter
Anyone could refer to important anecdotes
Everyone congratulates the "brilliant" writer
All the time we see it happen everywhere
All of us are blinded by words every time
Take the aged's advice without thought or care
Though soon enough you'll find it a crime
For they lived long before our era of man
They spoke in a period when word was a privilege
What was written was read by no educated scan
The world is changing and so is knowledge

What happened in America's past
is a truth too hard to swallow,
and because of a few who did much wrong:
blame was put on an entire race,
and now the stain is washed away,
and all people rejoice and pray!
The winner is elected President,
and the defeated congratulates him...
with moving words filled with humbleness,
and sheds no tears of disappointment!
If his dream becomes our dream,
there's a better reason to sing:
the hymn of freedom and brotherhood,
to forever change that undignified image in an exuberant moment
and be viewed differently by the peoples of the world
that have finally seen her divided people come together and celebrate!
Decades ago, this all seemed impossible to envision...
someone to embark on a long journey and deliver the promise
to all with an indissoluble and unswerving certainty,
defining his victorious moment and sharing it with them:
while his strong voice thunders among frantic faces,
making history in the sacred name of liberty...
being recognized and watch the stain being washed away after all,
but the toughest challenge is to achieve what he promised!
