A Couple Who Miscommunicates

I buy her the prettiest things he congratulates himself.
Why does she never wear any of them?
He tries so hard, she thinks. But I hate grays and tans.
Why does he never buy himself anything with color?

Why does he never wear the clothes I pick out? She wonders.
Where is that red shirt with the flamingos and macaws?
They keep these disappointed thoughts to themselves.
Neither one wanting to hurt the other one’s feelings.

lol, I think we stopped buying gifts for each other a long time ago. 1. we're terrible at waiting, and 2. we know how to order what we want ourselves :-). Enjoyed this, Caren!
