Politicians get tough question,
and most will filibuster.
Especially if performance,
is bordering lackluster.
Many are from professions,
that are the kings of gab.
Their day’s clock is eaten,
by unfriendly confab.
Their priority is always,
find some one to blame.
They swear on the Bible,
while pants are aflame.
If the finger points at them,
they’re not slow to disclaim.
Searching for another,
that they might defame.
With hand outstretched,
they are tempted by bribers,
And too many fall prey,
lacking good moral fibers.
They see most as inferior,
and as dumb as a shoat.
Everything is on the table,
as they vie for our vote.
I know that politics,
is their forte and dominion,
And I pray they don’t legislate,
from me, my opinion.

My Thoughts On
Smash & Grab
Miracle Man

Some big cities now enforce a change in their law,
which allows an enclave to freely smash and grab.
What offenders deserve is some “Shock and Awe”,
but lawmakers have chosen meaningless confab.
They allow hoodlums to freely take from another,
they smash and grab things that have cash appeal.
Their chosen way of life is to take from some other,
and what they can’t bum they’re willing to steal.
Must decent people live and work in constant fear?
Because some other can’t or won’t earn their pay.
Daily cries go out but the disinterested don’t hear,
They should do their jobs or get out of the way.

Plain common folks in touch with its aina (land)
Noticed by many soupers long before this tadpole swam the pond
Well-grounded, skilled with a pen, with a memorable persona,
In my view, I became a welcomed homey, charmingly receptive, in a comfortable regular confab of subject subtleties to filling, reflections of a lifetime,
From our friends to our families to our Hawaii ~~
...of a gorgeous floral lei, imagined or realized
...both pales in comparison

Verily honoured am I to be invited
To this First Annual Poetry Soup Convention
Where international writers, poetry-gifted
Come together to share blessings of their passion.
With the global confab scheduled smoothly on-line
I anticipate great sessions of poem readings
Where gracious participation I can’t decline
As my heart would be nourished well with “bard-feedings.”
Grateful am I to join this poetry conference
To learn from notable word-artists I admire
My prayer is for Providence-interference
For protection against internet-glitches’ mire.
Now, I entrust to God* this event’s victory
With guidance to coordinators in the lead
Including the entire PS territory…
Yes, for momentous poetry-delight, I plead.
This April 5, 2019 is poets’ date
Have me counted as well as my excited soul
I’m set and indeed ready to reach meeting-gate
For the furtherance of noble poetry goal.

"Nice to see you again", said
Mosquito to the Blue-bottled Fly
"I see you are well-fed"
"Thank you", replied the latter. "I
Returned recently from a big meeting"
" What meeting? The CONFAB?"
"Yes. What a bout of feasting!
There was so much blood on the slab!"
Softly stroking his proboscis, Mosquito said: "I don't know about you
But I prefer blood that comprises
Vitamins and nutrients, fresh and new." Patting his robust belly, Fly asked: "Where can I get such?
Would that mean waking up early?" "Yes", replied the other. "Pretty much.
Just stick with me, I'll show you the difference
You are yet to see
Human blood is a whole new experience!" "Thanks for the offer, but
I'll stick to the butcher's venison. With him, I have an honest cut
Human blood is sacred - that's a reason!"
And with that, Fly flew away
"Potbellied fool! Who better than myself
Knows its value? I'll go on my way
And let him find out for himself!"

Ah, the con a tried and true dastardly, debased,
debacle to test the metal of man.
A contextual contrib to the categorization
for rat-ICK-al political fans.
Simply put, the contest is not for the faint of heart.
Testing the spine of the spineless
demi-gods of media-o-craSS-y against each other
often produces hilarious outcomes, balloons full of
hot air which rise, sinkers like submarines
A-bombs which ann-I-oH-late beating the literal
pants of of pre-despotic predators!
Ah, the con a tried and true dastardly, debased,
debacle to test the metal of man.
A confab of convicts crashing the party of humanity
for their own con-test, loot-seekers all.
Blue ribbon, hollow trophy-seeking, baby kissers.
Even the best of these deep thinkers seldom
produce products which do more
than a-GRAND-Ize themselves.
Hitler con-tested the right to breath of the non
Aryan races...now that's surely contestable?
Kings and demagogue contest the human rights
of man daily, throwing female babies out with the trash.
So in an effort to auto adjust this neolith-ICK behavior
I vote we go sans test!
