And comes the time, oft many sought with blinded eyes that squint into the dark, searching for that in tight grasp with faithless hopes that it be found.
No grudge shall I bear as a traveler his mug, that holds within above a cracked below, a drink for the voyage whose starting is the ending to the eye and mind.
In the open sky I shall hide all that has been, is and no longer morrow.
To remind a scribbler to forget friends and foes. For the mind’s cask shears upon such thought of great appeal.
My time.
To no longer will, but bend, or even break. To be deaf to all, with only hearing for one with a deafening whisper. As the tongue exits its cave, loud be my scream as the bewitching hour.
Search no more.
By your follicles, you would tell as words deny you might… of this scribbler you once grappled in sight.
As he dissolves in his dry ink, I beseech thee again.
“Search no more”.

Training for a marathon, where does someone begin to start
Time to begin six months of intense training, a course I need to chart
Discipline and willpower I must rely on to get the job done
Hard work I am not afraid of it, in fact, I will welcome the challenge and try to make it fun
To be able to accomplish this a combination of great mental and physical strength I must apply
With a balanced diet, lots of sleep, and preparation I must endeavor to try
Some people think twenty-six miles of driving is a long way
When I cross the finish line I will have created a memory surely to stay
Tomorrow bright and early a starting pistol will fire, being focused and relaxed is surely the key
The long journey has finally come to an end, where I finished and how long it took me will have to wait and see
The goal of completing the marathon was all that I wanted to achieve
You can afford whatever you want out of life, you just have to believe

Girls grow up early -
boys are on time.
One grows like cedar -
the other like pine.
Both are completed -
each other to mate.
Minority’s tyranny -
disturbs natural fate.

you see, that's one down!

all she ever wanted to be was one with herself
and yet here she was disunited and fragmented
seeking what seemed out of harmonious reach
heart choked in a stranglehold of noosed reason
razor wire punctured her emotions and feelings
rational distortion shackled a delusion of truth
I just want to hold you safe and keep you insane
better the bevel you know than a slope you do not
a few abrasions won’t ache but passion will hurt
the mind banned foreign intrusion by sentiments
dangled a carrot of undefeated logic and thoughts
undermined every effort to feel emote and sense
it took great supremacy battles and mental afflictions
for her to raise a heart shaped brain from the dead
but her new union with Self defeated all loneliness

Completing the Pattern
by Michael R. Burch
Walk with me now, among the transfixed dead
who kept life’s compact and who thus endure
harsh sentence here—among white-petaled beds
and manicured green lawns. The sky’s azure,
pale blue once like their eyes, will gleam blood-red
at last when sunset staggers to the door
of each mute mausoleum, to inquire—
"What use, O things of erstwhile loveliness?"

Six days of work for the Master Artist,
creating a universe, bestowing life.
After looking back on His outline,
God colored emotions for Adam and his wife.
Between His sketches of sea and sky,
Blue hues He chose, endowing serenity.
He awakened nature’s forests with strokes of green,
employing earth tones to convey humility.
Red and yellow flowers He painted to bring joy;
white clouds in the heavens added purity.
Rainbow tints filled God’s world with emotions,
leaving no colors in obscurity.
Before one final act, He debated “free will,”
so desirous that each human life form
be welcome in His eternal kingdom.
But no one, He decided, should be forced to conform.
Material things God created en masse
were mere outlines with possibilities.
To make life worth living, He continued day seven,
giving man love, joy and merciful abilities.

In Disney, with my favorite aunt,
My son some months past three,
She carried him right past the guards,
So he could get in free.
For children not yet three years old
Paid no admission charge.
"They'll never stop me!" yelled Sydelle
And onward she did barge.
That was in 1984
And now that son is grown,
Vacationing in Disney World
With children of his own.
And so we made a special trip
With this same aunt in tow
To spend the day together
Like we did so long ago.
The grandkids fill the spaces
So the circle is complete
And being there to witness it
Was such a lovely treat.
My son may not remember
How his great-aunt cast her spell
But the Disney circle is a tale
I'll always love to tell.

What do I want in life
How do I get by
Make these tears stop falling
From my eyes
Put the smile back
On my face
Give me a reason
To be me
To be happy
Hold my hand
Walk with me
I need your help
Your security
Please
Stand with me
You help me
Grow stronger
Weaker for you
Weaker for me
You've helped me change
Into the person I wanna be
The only thing I'm missing
Is you
Grow with me
Change with me
Be happy
With me
You are the reason
That I am me
That I am happy
But the hole in my heart
Needs you
Complete me
Your talents
Amaze me
I fall into your eyes
Your music
Play me a song
Sing me the world
Release me into happiness
I trust you
That's hard to say
I've been hurt before
There's something about you
I'm so scared
Tears of fear
Fill my eyes
Rivers flowing free
Down my face
Stop these tears
Stop this pain
Stop the hurt
Heal the broken
Fix the damaged
I know you are strong
Take me into your arms
The feeling of need
Needing you
I give you my heart
Arms wide open
I can't change the past
But help me form the future
I'm set on you
The candy of my eye.
