I like predictable tv shows
Colombo always followed the perpetrator
In Death in Paradise the inspectors solve every case
Someone on the stand confesses in every Perry Mason episode
Harvey Korman always falls on his butt on the Carol Burnett Show
No matter who the Equalizer is, he or she fixes everything for a good guy
John Wayne always beat the bad guys in every movie
Until The Cowboys when he was murdered by Bruce Dern
I never liked Bruce Dern after that
And I never watched another John Wayne movie
I like predictable movies too

As we metamorphose
away from mumbo-jumbo,
we cleave to poetry, abandon prose.
Science is the only one that knows.
I saw it on “Colombo”.
A laptop’s far more useful than a rose.
Remember Walden Pond, and when it froze?
Or when Aunt Bernadette prepared that gumbo?
You won’t forget the north wind when it blows!
America’s best movie? If it chose,
the Number One would probably be ‘Dumbo’.
And ‘Tik Tak Toe’ would be the Show of Shows.
We all have sadness, live through woes,
but strong folk are not looking for macumba.
Rain falls – that’s all we need suppose.
Just check your seams are straight: adjust your hose,
and get out there and trip a raunchy rumba.
You know the tune real well. It’s one of those.
You think that milk and honey are what flows?
I’d like to see you tell Patrice Lumumba!
It’s been that way for many other Joes.
Art long, life short? The poem has to close.
But maybe, from the shadow of the tumba,
some vestige will remain for you to gloze.

Turn off the dark nights,
To catch him up,
The Colombo thief,
Coming in the midnights,
Stealing our life!

Little
may my love sound,
yet a bright star I do love,
Stella,
Who in the center of the sky,
being lulled in her mother’s lap,
does blink and wink on the sly to express her divine love.
To express my mortal love,
I wink and blink slyly,
yet she may not clearly see how desperately I do love.
Tell me a way to say my love, to show my love,
mortal love, to
Stella,
my brightest star.
Are earth and sky so far,
so I can’t send a message of love to my brightest star,
in the place of genuine love,
Stella,
my brightest star?
I have no skills to create a cloud of romance, as
Kalidasa,
a great poet, once did, so I’ll make a little,
so little kite to send my letter of love to my brightest star,
Stella.
I published my second collection of poems: "Love, Lust & Dust" in 2018.
Publisher: Sarasavi Publishers, Colombo.

Pain resonates in the mud. Unbalances
you, sticks you in centuries one can only
imagine. Toppled spheres atop
consecrated pews littered with charred
Easter missalettes. Doesn’t count as
abstract art, your canvas. Bleeds,
splattered hostile wails, upended
concrete and tea whorled into one.
Colombo, port on the majestic Kelani
river. Sri Lanka’s heart. Suffered a
cardiac arrest that day. Triage, the
silent saint. Florence Nightingale
stirred to round up the troops.
Revenge you say? Ambassador suites
were available. You had the means.

LEE KUAN YEW
A shining star in the Asian sky,Lee fondly,Singapore friendly.
What’s the definition of dedication? if one asked, say Lee.
Masons build mansions but nations only by true sons like Lee.
A magician doing wonders with the magic pole called A/c on workers to grow on his Cold War!
Reverting Sea water is science but sweat into sweet Lee sense.
Singapore is a success story written by Lee.
The dream of making Singapore a Colombo done.
The dream of making Colombo a Singapore is fun!

In a warm morning in Colombo
There is a package in a bow
And a letter say, "Love, I'll be home tomorrow"
A gift and love memo, what a perfect combo
*Since Im living in Colombo, it will be rude to not mention it, atleast once ;)

Columbus Day Dream
Christopher Colombo was the very one.
Born in Italy 1451.
Day dreamed of sailing while weaving wool.
A captain at sea was in his soul.
His quest compelled him westward bound.
God let him know the world was round.
In fourteen hundred and ninety two.
Three ships set sail on the ocean blue.
The Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria.
He captained all three and discovered
