Premium Member Cher Fair Queen

her face is chiseled but not hard like her father’s
Cher wears a black Stetson with a silver band
is she smoking? Is that allowed in this bar?
I note her makeup, put on by an expert hand

Has she a fashion consultant?
Because she never looked this gorgeous before
I hear she is running for fair queen
She has my vote

Never have I seen her look more beautiful
And she has always been a looker
Even as a six-year-old, I knew she was special
She turns and looks my way. Gives me a wink.

I am excited to say that I know her.
She has facets of personalities and is fun.
Cher, I hope you get queen, I think.
And she does.

Cher,
Love everything about her, especially her hair.
She sang about a scamp, a camp and a bit of a tramp.
She’s a V.A.M.P. Vamp.

Premium Member Remembering Sonny and Cher Show

The old photo is in dull black and white gray scale
However, this cannot dull or blemish our well-loved Cher
We recognize her face, attitude and fabulous, personality.
Remembering how regal she was with her sarcastic wit.
Sonny looks like the husband we remember who loved his wife.
Just a couple of kids from the sixties who fell in love
And delighted tens of thousands of TV watchers.
I would watch all of the Sonny and Cher shows if given the chance.

Premium Member Dancing To Cher

We sing our sixties folk songs
And live in our Woodstock memories
Dancing to Cher’s Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves,
Hanging on to our excitement at surviving the seventies.

Peace is our sign, with love beads and Go Go boots
Thanks to Nancy Sinatra and “These Boots are Made for Walk’n”.
Don’t squawk, youngster, go your own way. Be you.
Don’t just survive, thrive! Live your soul dream.

Take this guitar and travel the world. Take Route 66.
Here are the keys to my Chrysler. Sure she’s old, but she’s powerful.
Singing “Little Ole Lady from Pasadena” with Grandma is not enough.
You have to get out there and live. Your life is waiting!

Destiny is sending you a cookie cake. Gobble up those chocolate chips.
Like Auntie Mame said, “Life is a banquet,
and most suckers are starving to death”.
Don’t let it be you. Go out and grab your gusto.
Parade in your pizzazz.
Be your most delightful and delectable you! Live your ethereal truth, my friend!

Premium Member Gypsies Tramps and Thieves

Gypsies Tramps and Thieves by Cher
When I hear her deep throaty voice I smile
Begin to sway with the music,
Feeling sexy, and a bit naughty

It brings me back the seventies,
I feel my hip hugger blue jeans
Worn under my waist.
I am young, cute, pretty.

I am Cher, tall, svelte, attractive
Showing off my essence,
Wearing my Bob Fosse costumes
My Indian headdress, shaking a tambourine

Loving my height, my Native American cheekbones.
Putting my Cher-ness into the air,
Unafraid to be completely myself,
Making no apologies for being awesome.

Premium Member Cher Is My Favorite Artist

Cher, why do I love you? Is it your dancing? Your acting?
Is it your singing? The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour?
Thirty million viewers a week cannot be wrong.
Gypsy, Tramps and Thieves is one of my all-time favorite songs
But she has to be sung by you to elicit full power.

Cher, you are so beautiful in Bob Mackie’s costumes.
I can close my eyes and see the Indian headdress on you
With your sweet flat belly button showing.
And your all powerful dancing eyes as you made fun of Sonny.

Mask, The Witches of Eastwick and Silkwood are favorites with me
Because you were in there, showing your vulnerabilities, being yourself.
You have won a Grammy, an Emmy and an academy award.
The people love you, and I am one of them. You showed us what a woman can do.

Cher, you are the only artist to have a number one single
On the Billboard charts in six consecutive decades.
Your philanthropic efforts and social activism
Are icing on the cake that is you, Cher.

Premium Member Stuck In An Elevator

I am stuck in an elevator with Cher, Tina Turner, Bette Midler,
Pink, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga when
Liza Minnelli drops in from a tiny opening in the roof.
We all scream “LIZA!” and then we whip out our instruments.

To be fair, I do not have one to whip out, but I find a spoon in my purse
And a lid to a small sauce pan.
Please do not ask.
This would add to my embarrassment.

They start saying “how about this one?” until Pink wins.
We sing her songs - all of them, but stop playing in the third set.
“Who is clapping off rhythm?” It boils down to me.
The elevator roof trap door opens and Willie Nelson arrives.

He and I agree we are on rhythm
All the rest of them are off rhythm.
Someone reaches to dial the emergency phone,
but I bite off their hand.

Premium Member Cher

She once was young
naïve as they come
long black raven hair
of shiny silken softness
her deep eyes of onyx
that pierce in the night
she learned the ropes
then showed them all
deliberate and provocative
enticing scandals
in shameless gowns
but in the end
she never aged
the goddess phoenix
rising again and again

Premium Member Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves

Sonny orchestrated; Cher was his doll.
Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves, was their nightly drawl.
We’d preach a little gospel to save them all.
Townspeople were afraid of us, even Baby Paul.

Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves, was their nightly drawl.
They were treacherously mean with their call.
Townspeople were afraid of us, even Baby Paul.
But the men would sneak, see us, big and tall.

And lay their money down, and have a ball.
Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves was their nightly drawl.
We picked up a handsome man in Mobile, ya’all.
Townspeople were afraid of us, even Baby Paul.

Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves was their nightly drawl.
We picked up a handsome man in Mobile, ya’all.
Townspeople were afraid of us, even Baby Paul.
Papa would learn about this romance, in the Fall.

He was tall, handsome, but left me after all.
We picked up a handsome man in Mobile, ya’all.
Papa would learn about this romance, in the Fall.
Sonny orchestrated; Cher was his doll.

Salvatore Bono
The short and older half of the Sonny & Cher show
hit a tree skiing and then was gone. . .
But like his gravestone says: “the beat goes on.”

Cherilyn Sarkisian, AKA Cher,
known for her low singing voice and long black hair,
poked fun at her hubby on TV in ‘71.
Her daughter, now named Chaz, has turned into her son!

*Sonny and Cher were a very famous wife/husband duo
of the 60's and early 70's. Cher continued singing even
till today. When they broke up, Sonny became a politician
and served in the House of Representatives. His skiing
accident was a great tragedy!

Cher

The Ultimate Diva, known as Cher

An exotic Beauty, with talent so rare.

When on the Stage, she reigns supreme

I worship and adore her, she's the ultimate dream.

There is no one out there, that can compare.

Her legions of fans, they will attest

Cher is the one, the only, the best.

She is a star, of the first magnitude

A heavenly voice, so strong, so true

There is no one like her, anywhere.

Not surprising since she is after all...

The Ultimate Diva, known as Cher.
