Belltrim

Decrotive needle work
sewn ito the fabric
they were highlights to
make the invitations look exspensive
Decrotive foods samples
savoury with drinks
The Celebrants marvoled at the audeince
I heard them mention how
they wished they had asked for a $5 dollar ticket fee.
One of the members of the wedding party sent
out a letter asking the attendants to take up a collection
from the many who had come
the budget was running over
due to last minute exspentures
people filled the ballroom
and extra people were needed for different things.
the day of cordinater earned her money that day.
Keeping the many there entertained during the down sides
and keeping people feed while they waited.
Love was the theme of the day
and many in attendance
respected the theme
and allowed the usage of the laugage
of "Bliss" to over take the littlest doubt
from those who were pesitmestic and mean.

Premium MemberWhat Makes Me Smile--All Things Christmas

I love the sights of Christmastime
from manger scenes to mistletoe.
Sweet, joyous sounds pervade the air
from "Praise the Lord" to "HO HO HO!"

I give to those who are in need,
for God says, "Love your fellow man."
Then when I shop for family,
I buy them every gift I can.

The carolers and choirs perform
"O Holy Night" and "We Three Kings,"
while celebrants in living rooms
sing tunes about what Santa brings.

A prayer precedes our Christmas feast;
the smorgasbord brings great delight.
The kids soon snuggle near the fire
enrapt as Dad starts, "'Twas the Night . . . “

This season is a splendid time
that bears a special, holy name,
so as I smile through "Jingle Bells,"
I won't forget why Jesus came.

Premium MemberHappy 2025

Melting away is the year 2024.
We powered through or failed, but the hour is no more.
For the New Year celebrants, tonight gives no clue,
But I wish a year of happiness to everyone of you.
          Happy New Year.

Junction of old and new
Journey begins this month
Junk those old calendars
Joyful celebrants meet
Jackets replaced with coats
Jack Frost brings icy blasts
Journal’s blank pages wait

At Home for Christmas

Fake pine, unfolding bagged branches,
           expressive string of lights attached.
All ornaments unwrapped, three spaced
             mid-tree, Ricky & Lucy - foremost.
Resound of the season - reason
the celebrants take time for fair Christ.

Premium MemberI Could Have Been

I COULD HAVE BEEN…

in Israel
my heart
with Israel
with Americans
who have lost loved
ones…been kidnapped
I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE
we had a plan
am I glad of my escape
my family doesn’t have to worry
but my heart is there
is there under the earth
in craven caverns
in the despair
of an army of civilians
forced to suffer
a holo-cost!
can you hear
the babies crying
old women’s bones, groaning
women scared to pieces
for their little ones
brave soldiers
those civilians
As they shudder
is God setting up the cell
for those who will end up
in hell forever-
those who would take
the celebrants
that danced, laughed,
praised just a few moments before.
They will again…
but for now we weep,
keep vigil and
vigilant.

Premium MemberCandy Corn and Snowflakes

Intercom: the visuals are incredible!
The spray of candy corn fireworks
and the snowflake stars. Land ho…

…and out come the celebrants. They
Stick their tongue to the flakes. Catch.
the honey Brach’s with their teeth.

Leaves layered everywhere. Seasons
on display. Children’s flower windmills
wheeling. Sun’s mellow-yellow-smile.

Oaks, maples and pines holding hands,
branches clapping, looking up, gifting
edible acorns and prickly pine cones.

The skies grow heavy with foreboding
as the great and small pumpkins roll in.
Hideous laughter, sinister carvings

on their orange ribbed faces. Seed webs
dangle from their toothy grins. The wind
says, “Boo!” and off go the craven beasts.

Oft the celebrants feel sorry for them,
having most of their insides scooped
and made into the most delicious pie.

They end up taking one in per house.
Each pumpkin shines bright, contained
on breezy porch, scared of the next boo.

Premium MemberForever

Once upon a time, one of the most heartbreaking tales
ever told - Snow White will not wake up. Forever,
her husband bruised, as if a true to life witch
threw him off Rapunzel’s tower, and into the briars,
beating, blighting, blinding him. He doesn’t want to see
the world without his bride. Meanwhile, an insipid whiner
behind bars, after her drunken careen and crash,
begs with youthful tears - but…but…they let out murderers,
those who deliberately kill. I told the judge I was sorry…
as if she just took a cookie from a toddler. The golf cart framed
with extreme happiness of bride and groom…celebrants
wishing them well, blessing their union ‘til death do they part.

Premium MemberWe Toast Our Success

The New Year warms up
     The old one winds down
  Celebrants don their apparel
     The good news to herald

Will the songs be the same
Will the jokes be as lame
  Will we toast our success
     Then drink to excess...

  Rituals help us mark
     Our annual milestone in time
So, on the 31st of December
I sneak into bed before nine

Christmas and Jehovahs Witness

Marry Christmas at the corner
And they know:Flora and Fauna!
Funeral postponed by mourner,
No carol songs,Tina Turns...

A lot of good sales candles make,
On this make You no cheap mistake;
Some remember fried rice,some cake:
A time to jeer at the Old Snake...

"Rubbish" says Jehovah's witness,
Each day hacking its earned neatness;
On all birthdays sure tragedy,
Celebrants risking sure Eddy:
The headless body of slain John,
The noose Pharaoh's baker had borne...

So,what says Panel or gives leave?
Do I to The Witnesses cleave?

Premium Member'twas Thanksgiving Night After

'Twas Thanksgiving Night after
    and all through the home
  You could hear toilets flushing
    as celebrants moaned

  Too much turkey and stuffing
    and pumpkin pie to boot
  Poor folks no longer fit
    in their birthday suits

  What's that I hear
    that knock at the door
  'Tis the policeman come
    to tally the score

I give him the grim news
as he writes down the numbers
Three dry heavers; five stomachs pumped &
~ ten blueberry pies consumed by the plumber

My hosts are heavenly
Diamonds in the sky
Celebrants shine, revealed
  Tuxes, tails, bow-ties

Palatial glows the galaxy

Premium MemberMidweek Medley - Three Holiday Limericks

~ Trick or Treat on the Moon ~

The man in the moon's really kind of neat
Every Halloween he plays trick-or-treat
   When astronauts come
   He acts kind of dumb
"Green cheese is all I can give you to eat."

~ The Turkeys in Tennessee ~

The turkeys in Tennessee are so smart
They're never in Thanksgiving shopping carts
   They've learned how to duck
   To avoid bad luck
When the ax swings, they emit giant farts

        ~ Christmas 'Carol' ~

Every Christmas there's a gal named Carol
Whose awful voice turns celebrants sterile
   She sings Christmas songs
   And always gets 'gonged'
Listeners don hospital apparel

    HAPPY UPCOMING HOLIDAY SEASON!

The Fifth of July

The noise is over now
celebrants nurse their foolishness
a small dog peeks out from under a bed
children sleep fitfully above.
Ah, the Fifth of July
battle strewn lawns show evidence
of our independence.
The acrid scent of fireworks lingers
mingled in wisps of fading smoke.
Birds warily peek from the trees.
“The Spirit of Seventy Six”
awakening from freedom’s festival.

Carnevale

How lucky to be on vacation
To find yourself met with surprise
When a spectacle you didn't count on
Unfolds right in front of your eyes.

For here we are touring in Venice,
Where, next to the tourists in jeans,
The revelers, masked and in costume,
Create some incongruous scenes.

It's Carnival time! Carnevale,
As those in the know like to say,
And watching the celebrants saunter
Gave us quite a fortuitous day.

Most people plan trips to partake in
The festivals at a locale,
But we'd no idea we'd be seeing
The Renaissance by the canal!
