Inspired by my friend Tom Cunningham, here are three midweek holiday limericks...

~ Trick or Treat on the Moon ~ The man in the moon's really kind of neat Every Halloween he plays trick-or-treat When astronauts come He acts kind of dumb "Green cheese is all I can give you to eat." ~ The Turkeys in Tennessee ~ The turkeys in Tennessee are so smart They're never in Thanksgiving shopping carts They've learned how to duck To avoid bad luck When the ax swings, they emit giant farts ~ Christmas 'Carol' ~ Every Christmas there's a gal named Carol Whose awful voice turns celebrants sterile She sings Christmas songs And always gets 'gonged' Listeners don hospital apparel HAPPY UPCOMING HOLIDAY SEASON!

Absolutely, limerickitis is spreading. And you certainly have played an outsized role in that wonderful development, Jan! Thanks for the encouragement, and keep your distance from those explosive turkeys! Cheers, Gershon

These are equally great, marvelous, entertaining and down right impressive. I love all three - they're great, Gershon. I too giggled out loud. I think you may have gifted giggles times 3 to all who stop on this page - what a wonderful gift. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Hmm. Perhaps these can be a 'pre-Christmas' Christmas present. Thanks for the idea, CayCay and glad you enjoyed these limericks. Smiles, Gershon

started with a snicker and then built to guffaw. "whose awful voice turns celebrants sterile" caught me completely off guard! (are they now celibate celebrants?)

Bullseye! 'Celibate celebrants.' Love it! Maybe that could be a gift for one of the 12 days of Christmas: 'Six celibate celebrants celebrating. Five golden rings...' LOL. Thanks a million of for a comment that makes me SMILE! ~ gw
