Where Does the Time Go

seconds slip through fingers like fine sand,
Minutes melt away in morning light.
Hours stretch and bend at day's demand,
Then vanish with the coming night.

Where does the time go when we look away?
When laughter fills a room, when tears fall free?
It pools in moments we cannot delay,
Then rushes forward, boundless as the sea.

It hides in coffee cups and halfway smiles,
In bedtime stories, stretching past their end.
It's lost in daydreams spanning countless miles,
And found in conversations with a friend.

Where does the time go? Perhaps it never leaves—
Just changes form like water, air, and light.
Becoming memory that gently weaves
The tapestry we carry through the night.

55th wedding Anniversary

I'll always remember the vows we made on that Special Day,
I promised that I would Love, Honour and Obey.
As I look back on these years just one thing comes to mind
If I had searched the whole wide world,a better Man I wouldn't find.
You were the starlight in my eyes, the reason for my life,
You gave me five beautiful children when I became your wife,
You made me laugh, you made me cry you gave me Comfort too,
I know I wasn't perfect but I tried very hard for you.
If I could have just one wish I know what it would be
That all the lovers in the world could be as happy as you and me.
I Miss you so much Darling, life will never be the same,
But the love and all the memories will forever remain.
So on this very special day my thoughts are all of you,
I know that you will give me the love and strength to carry through.
One day my Darling I will kiss ?? and hold you tight,
Until then My Darling Mike you'll be my guiding light ??.
       God bless you Darling

Premium MemberIt's all in the numbers

In this city where LEDs set down the glows,
Every heartbeat adds up to what nobody knows
You said it, and I felt our friendship; gather a spark,
"One four three," you whispered and lit up the dark
Digits we carry through laughter and tears,
Cipher to our moments that decode all the years

It's all in the numbers, can you not see?
One heart beatin' for you and yours for me
Four chambers compress where it flows strong,
Three cheers for all moments where we both belong!

And when we're lost in a tangled mess,
I’ll hold your hand through every day stress
We’ll turn these figures into magical dreams—
Life’s more than numbers; ours bursts at the seams!

It's all in the numbers, can’t you see?
One heart beatin' for you and me
Four walls crumbling, but our love stays strong,
Three cheers for a life where we both belong!

Here’s to forever—a promise so true:
Count on my love; it adds up to “you.”
Through every equation of joy and strife—
It’s "143"—the sum of our life!

A sad truth is upon its way..! This un-election day.?? Should
This carry through; will birthdays be next too?
Its hard to contemplate? I have to say.! Can an elected
Government of Britain, allow such? For under juristriction they
Were voted in, as law stands.' How can they then deprive
Other men?
Are they in truth then 'not lovers? upholders of law
Based elections; in Brexit Britain.?

Suffering Inferno

No one knows the phoenix that burns in me.
No one knows that my heart is a burning solitude.
I carry through the dark towards the light
No one knows the dark I softly cry.
But I do. I do.
I will wake up today and thank my life.
I will walk today and thank the world
I will live until I burn to ashes
Phoenix, burns, burns, burns.

The Knock

He knocked upon my door one day
I answered by letting him in
I couldn't imagine what he would say
But something did begin

Something, too good to be true,
one would say, something out of the blue
Something edging on the brink
something, that was you

Inside the knocking became so loud
Vibrations turning upside down
A miracle? I dare not ask
I was willing to take upon the task.

For many nights the knocking came
Long the hours, we were the same
till morning rise, it called my name
and i reached out to share in this game

This feeling, new and undiscovered
made one enchanted by the other.
In the heart the knocking grew,
Pounding out it's rhythms' new

Enchantment, ah the word is sweet
is also masked by being incomplete
Voices carry through the night
the closer the knocking
the stronger the might

then the words came from the knock...

And it threw me.

Premium MemberListen Carefully

Early morn
          Two wide-set yellow eyes
            Peek through cobalt blue
              Remnants of last night's rain
Wonderful water for all the plants and animals

Across the way
Four lovely cedars or Cyprus stand
    Like sentinels guarding the road
      Lovely silvery green shines
Washed and still wet with rain

Two mockingbirds
Sing so joyfuly one to my left
The other one to my right
I wonder what they are discussing
        Responsibilities of parenthood or politics

The clouds
  Seem to be dissipating
Or the sun has risen higher or a little of both
I am wondering if there will be more rain today or will last night's shower
Be all that we get, of course, we could use a little more

Soaking up
  The cool, damp, quiet
The small amount of the morn that I can enjoy
      Out on the porch
         Each second so precious

Close my eyes
   Listen carefully
     Perhaps I can catch
An elusive susurrus of nature to carry through the day
Filled with positive emotions, help me make it God

Premium MemberWhisper

_By Poet_

Here is a simple list
Of the whispers that exist...

A gentle, soothing sound that calms
A child in their parent's arms.

An intimacy shared between just two
Echoing the sentiment, "I love you."

The way we speak around those who sleep.
A way to pacify those who weep.

The way classmates talk when silence is required.
The communication had when a life has expired.

A secret shared between two friends.
A voice in a head that never ends.

A memory of someone special at heart
Who we carry through each life's part...

Softly, softly the whispers are there
If we listen closely, each whisper we'll hear.

Premium MemberMy Prayer

“My prayer is to linger with you-”
our hearts, with strong beats keeping time.
Our minds upon paths we proved true-
 souls melded with spirit sublime.

“Tonight, while our hearts are aglow-”
 my prayer is to linger with you;
 as always, together to show
strong bonds help us to carry through.

“My prayer is a rapture in blue-”
bright skies and the night's soothing moon.
My prayer is to linger with you-
our kind hearts forever in tune.

“My prayer is the answer you give-”
 while traveling our avenue;
know well, for as long as we live,
my prayer is to linger with you.

Four lines, (in bold), from the
song, “My Prayer” by the Platters, 1954
 Word "prayer" one syllable - as sung in song;
 (See notes section).

Premium MemberClutter Be Gone

Clear this clutter from my mind
So I can sleep and rest I will find
No more thoughts heading no-where
No more circles as if time to spare
Clutter be gone so tomorrow is clear
Of harrowing experiences that invite fear

Who needs all this clutter anyway?
Wouldn't it be better to simplify the day?
Make room for flowers, scents and sight
Hold a colored pebble to be found tonight
Just a little rock in a big dream
To carry through dark, to the next sunbeam

Premium MemberCheers To You

**Disclaimer: It might be said that the person who has been hurt the most has the most to teach, or the most to give as in to make someone's life a little better. Of course, that person must be willing to do just that. And maybe it is time to tell the person who has been hurt the most that we need to hear from you, because the fact that you are still here means you have a story to share.

Cheers to you public servant who work for the struggling masses.
Your hard work and compassion keeps us going.

Cheers to you who have been a rape victim and rose.
Your survival story can help the next victim carry on and carry through.

Cheers to you who have been the outcast and soared.
Your experiences can comfort the next outcast who feels scared.

Cheers to you who have cried in your lonely bed at night.
You too have experiences that will help the next person in line.

Even if you don't think your candle is bright,
others need the light you shine out of your hell.

Nothing But the Blood

Nothing but the blood of Jesus can lead us through, picking all up off our knee's when finished praying asking please forgive us and be our guide. Lead us down a glorious road with a forever light to carry us down a glorious road with no end in sight. A glorious light that lead's us through both days and night's with a heart like yours, with a common love for all too have to carry through just as you have for us as well. Too share and give away freely keeping all together when we make it back home with you, where a destiny known kingdom come till eternity's end with nothing but the blood of the lamb.

Bring Your Gun

Coming to the city? Bring your gun
So you can shoot at anyone!
Target practice is such fun;
No laws will you be bending.

All those rules you used to shun
Have been rescinded; they are done!
Lawsuits have been filed and won
To honor those amending.

Bearing arms makes bad guys run;
You’ll protect your wife and son.
Don’t believe what some have spun;
You’ll mostly be defending.

In New York, now everyone
Beneath the moon or in the sun
Can carry through the streets a gun
Since sanity is ending.

Wisdom From Trees

patience you will learn from me
to thrive upon diversity

strength to carry through all weather
how we get along together

honesty is always best
to slow your pace and have a rest

whilst standing tall and being proud
modesty is never loud

to persevere and sustain
through sunny days and falling rain

this is how we keep our youth
when we connect and share our truth.
