Fruits are good for snacking,
Like an orange or a plum
Or a peach or nectarine
Or pear or apple, even some
Within the melon family,
Where even just a slice
Of a cantaloupe or honeydew
Or crenshaw would suffice.
Most people are content with one
When looking for a munch
Except, of course, for grapes because
With them, you’d want a bunch.
I wonder why, when Mother Nature’s
Plan for fruits was hatched,
She came up with the strange idea
That grapes should be attached.
There must have been a reason
Why on stems they’ve gotten stuck,
But it’s kind of fun to eat them
‘Til you find you’re out of pluck.

Whether you're in a prison,
Or a hospital bed confined.
Yours might just be a 9 to 5,
We all are still doing time.
Our conscience is our jury,
Declaring right and wrong.
Our thoughts the Judge who sentences,
To mental prison where we belong.
All of us are guilty,
In this life we're paying for our crime.
A death sentence has hangs over us.
In the prison of our minds.
But don't loose hope, there is good news,
How we all can be paroled.
The devil has to release anyone,
Even though they sold their souls.
God sent us an Attorney,
His name is Jesus Christ.
He said "All prisoners must be released!"
That believes in his sacrifice.
God sent him from heaven "Pro bono!"
For the hopeless, poor and lost.
He's volunteered to take our place,
Saying "Put me not them on that cross!"
"Father!" he said "Please forgive them!"
The know not what they do!
I've come to set the captives free,
Then I'll return to You!"
The Bible newspaper headlines reads,
"Whether you are young and old"
We have the scoop for all mankind,
The Greatest Story Every Told!

Bunch of love
**Come, sit in my car.**
**I'm an aimless wanderer offering a gift.**
**I'm weaving the stars of our destiny.**
**My appearance is deceptive, but I do my work thoroughly.**
**I didn't fall from the sky, nor am I a flower from a wand.**
**I'm simply someone's beloved.**
**I respect people, I don't like those with a nose in the air.**
**I keep old friends close, I don't break hearts.**
**I have old remedies for broken hearts.**
**Who will be my virtuous wife?**
**All the dreams I've seen with my eyes open are real.**
**Everything is yours if you close your eyes.**
**Don't let the car slip away, my lady.**
**Come, sit in my car.**
**A smile like a crow, ladies.**
**With love always,**
**Jagdish Bajantri**

the garnered spit of worker bees
drops of undistilled wine
hive-mulled
dripped through the dropper

plants
dig themselves out
of a dry earth
to sup an opiate of life or death
fostering a flowering
manna delivers green
to the pale fat caterpillars
grubs fly away
to enrich
the open mouths
of graves
the thirsty wombs of

Daze and days of penmanship
Potent perhaps a touch of sun
Shipshape warming of outlet ink
Ishmael invites a tale; I say: “stowaway”
Stop all blubbering; just get yammering
Yo ho soupmates, we must steer the ship
Stir golden pot of disbelief and brass tacks
Torrential corkscrew pasta, perhaps?
Pish posh of the alphabet riding the waves
Wending its way, each letter to the crew
Conspirators of sonnets, limericks and dust
Dangerous alliteration, elevation and descent
Decidedly dizain, free verse or blank; thats it?!

Could you tell me why most hippopotami
Weigh about as much as a truck
In the animal kingdom diets are not common
So they're really poop out of luck
A donkey with wings or an ass that sings
Quite an image I have in my mind
Some like listening to a cockatoo warble
But I think that's quite assinine
Now why do most newborns poop at will
They emerge without manners
Farting in front of friends and neighbours
Sure makes you stutter and stammer
When misplacing an important document
You find it in the last place you look
Why not look there in the first place I wonder
You'll be stunned at the short time it took
Admit I ain't perfect but who the hell is
Sometimes I dribble in my beard
Imagine it sounds quite disgusting to you guys
A snack for when bedtime is near
Why do we cringe at the sound of one's nails
Screeching across a blackboard
Sends chills up and down our li'l ole spines
Can feel 'em right now, oh Lord!

In the U S March is Women's History Month, and tomorrow, March 8, is International Women's Day. So, ladies everywhere, this piece is for you. Salud!
You are woman, so defined,
You are perfectly designed,
Every aspect of your being makes you who you are.
You meet the challenges you face
With intelligence and grace,
Because of you the human race has come so far.
You have measure, you have worth,
And your purpose here on Earth
Is to show the world war's not the only way.
You may question, you may doubt,
But you bring good things about,
And do it all without a rancorous display.
Man is creation at its worst,
Why you were not invented first
Is a mystery, unsolvable, it's true.
Though chauvinists may sneer and scoff,
We might be so much better off
If the running of the world were up to you.
We'll never understand God's plan,
So from one less-than-perfect man,
To all you women,
Thanks for all the things you do.

In it not much of a meal,
A half dozen not a big deal,
My regular canteen I still approach
And for trying the stuff self reproach;
At the canteen appeasing A Fooled Tank
And having God to truly thank …
One is not to popcorn munch,
While targeting a classic lunch:
The Thinnest Starch for playful crunch;
Eaters don’t see much of the bunch …
To God, I’m faintly grateful,
After a Popcorn and that’s unfaithful!
Of the Non-Given Reverence mindful
But of My Cleansing not needful …
It shouldn’t often be a Mortal’s Homage
And, I trust, God wouldn’t a belly damage.

Sometimes life's a competition of how far we can throw,
Or simply having the greatest mind to win an intelligence show.
Certainly, there is still one thing to know,
Even the toughest or smartest of man contains a piece of his heart that is soft as dough.
The variety of flavors and sizes we come in are wide and plentiful.
Underneath our regenerating skin is one pretty tough skull,
As we are all created from a genetic code that was once considered a solid whole.
Now remember each and every one of us contains a different life goal,
And even the craziest of extremes can seem like someone else's version of dull.
Even if we are children for the first time learning the ABC's,
Or possibly someone who has spent a lifetime beating up their knees.
Somewhere there is an expert teaching the up and coming rookies,
As the fact will always remain that we are all just a bunch of tough cookies.

Tinkling sounds of rain falling on shingled roofs
wild winds and chestnut horses galloping with hooves
Spruce trees breathing in the navy sky of June
Shimmering stars of heavenly bliss scintillating view
Rivers gurgling aside the brook as dusk arrives
A solitary lotus floating on the waters of China
Japanese lanterns and crepe paper magic
Night songs of longing and bravelings that cry
May I invite you for a walk across my wish bridge
together we can find the syncronocity of life.

Joyful are the bunches of bananas,
exposed that are on shelves
of modern markets,
or street stalls,
waiting for the greedy mouths
of the beauties, or of the
famous tennis player...
Happier than those
yellowish bananas
that rot in the
roadsides,
with no one to support them
the due value...
