I clutch this steaming coffee cup,
To wash my sorrows away;
Each bitter sip, I drink it up,
As thoughts begin to sway.
Push winter's chill from deep inside,
While keeping time stands still;
Where secret dreams no longer hide,
And empty hearts refill.
Sweet solace in a silver spoon,
As darkness settles in;
The night will fade away too soon—
I force a phantom grin.
