Blue butterflies reflect in my eyes
But you say all you can see is blue skies.
Blue butterflies then ascend to real skies,
As I finally begin to truly realize...

CHUMKEE HAS DRIFTED INTO SLEEP TONIGHT

Tonight Chumki drifts to a gentle sleep,
And with her the poems their silence keep.
No murmur of verses, no whisper of rhyme,
The hours move slowly, unmeasured by time.

The stars look down with a softened gaze,
Darkness enfolds in its velvet haze.
No chatter of stanzas, no lyrical sound,
Only the hush of the night all around.

Dreams weave quietly in silver streams,
Guarding the doorway to tender dreams.
The restless lines lie still and deep,
For even the muses have gone to sleep.

Yet in the silence, a promise lies near,
That dawn will awaken the songs we revere.
When Chumki wakes, her smile will rise,
And poems will flutter once more to the skies.

Premium MemberI Am Blue

When you have stared too long
at that lifeless screen,
take a hint from the bird song -
abandon the machine.
See me through your window, so serene.

And if you feel alone
gazing at the skies,
soften up your hard heart of stone -
her soul's window might surprise
when you see me in her loving eyes.

Premium MemberI am Blue

Baby blue, my heart's with you; in the bayou, in the bayou.
Gray clouds sailed, right on through; now I'm back with you, back with you.
All my black moods, turned blue; all because of you, because of you.
I sing the blues, all back in tune; with something new, something new.
Those blues they aren't so, bluesy blue; since I found you, since I found you.

Bluebirds flew where wisteria grew; in the bayou, in the bayou.
Cornflower blooms bright in morning dew; blue's my hue, that's my hue.
Midnight blues don't break me too; not here with you, not here with you.
Skies shine deep blue, oceans wide too; I belong with you, with you.
Oh baby blue, we're blue on blue; all bayou blue, all bayou blue.

Premium MemberThe Weight of Silent Eyes

He says, "No soul will hear my cry..
No hand will catch the tears I dry."
He says he shines, he says he gives..
But in his chest, no kindness lives.

He paints with smiles, a brittle hue..
Yet every laugh he speaks is blue.
He throws his echoes to the skies..
And begs the void for sweet replies.

But I... I bleed across the page..
Each word a wound, each line a cage;
And though he claims the world is blind..
My broken verses hold their minds.

They read, they ache, they weep, they fall..
They shatter mirrors off the wall.
No cheers, no crowds, no roaring fame..
Just hollow hearts that know my name.

He says, "You’re lonely." I say, "See..
The world is silent.. but it breathes me."
It wraps my sorrow in its sleep..
It buries pain where shadows creep.

So let him shout into the sun..
My whispers weigh a thousand tons.
No need for noise, no need for cheers..
I own the silence and the tears.

Premium MemberYour Blue Eyes are My Blue Skies

From the moment I first saw you
Something in me changed
And then when I first heard you sing
My heart was rearranged
I'd heard the voice of beauty
If such could be described
Unprepared and unexpected
My senses came alive

Though I tried hard to ignore them
They always had this knack
The more that I resisted
The stronger they came back
Quite frankly though, I liked it
Excitement reigned anew
And ever since that moment
My sky's always been blue

May flora blooms exuding juniper fragrance
‘neath gleaming vernal azure canopies
fluorescence envelopes dewy sweet nothings
efflorescence aesthetic stuns and inspires
a hope once dormant to sparkle anew

Rainy Day

The rain this morning is a bond
A wet shadow breaks down her face
They, the skies — drip in her blue blood
The rain this morning is a bond
For outstretched palm is bitten some,
A lifetime within the cloud's chase —
The rain this morning is a bond
A wet shadow breaks down her face.

Blue skies and sunshine

BLUE SKIES AND SUNSHINE

We all need a little sunshine,
To brighten up our day,
Beautiful, bright blue skies,
"A joy to see!! " we say.
Wonderful sunshine,
Such a joy it brings,
Golden orange and yellow colours,
It makes your heart sing.
Looking up above,
See the white, soft clouds so high,
So calm and peaceful,
Watching the world slowly drifting by.
Go outdoors and enjoy the fresh air,
Feel the warmth upon your skin,
Let the joy and sunshine into your heart,
And let the day begin!!

Premium MemberWhen thoughts go dark

In my mind skies can be blue
thoughts can swirl and whirl
and take an unexpected turn
feeling like I've consumed a witch's brew

Just when I think there'll be no end
I find the perfect spot under the sun
to drop off what feels like a megaton
and soak in that sunshine before I call a friend

Gray Blue

Gray Blue, by Lisa Norton

Gray skies. Gray cement walls. Gray gravel. Gray emotion as I lead myself single file into the long line that yet again stands before me.

Yellow shirts. Yellow skin. Yellow anxiety within the veins. How can it be so lonely in a place so full?

White pads. White eyes. White teeth. Nothing is so white as when remembered. Purity lost. The white cloud has long since passed.

Brown plastic. Brown squares. Brown rectangles. Their corners are soft. The delivery of process is rude, yet the sentiment is understood.

Pink Polish. Pink nail. Pink singing on the neighbor’s radio. There is never silence. Silence offends the slightest offender.

Black print. Black boots. Blackened hearts. At least I pretend. No point when all advantage is taken of remote beauty here.

Red eyes. Red sun. Red uniform. Everyone face the wall. Don’t look. Do not make waves in this red sea of animosity.

Blue spirit. Blue thoughts. Blue as LeAnn Rymes sang. But he told me, “the skies are bluer”. Ahead, the clarity is awash. Blue days.

Spring has sprung

Spring has sprung,
Fleecies off we have flung,
Blue skies, breezes' balm,
Blossoms drifting do charm,
Sunny days, kind and mild,
Springing--we've all smiled!

Premium MemberSkinny Dipping In Spring

Heart does butterfly flips
When he kisses Lilly lips
Breeze blows blues away
At ease spring lovers at play

A little nip at his neck
Tender makes soft and wet
Forehead with beads of sweat
Touches of love never forget

Sundress glows in gold rays
Story told of bold soul days
That now shows a red face
Satin underneath ravishing place

Birds sing sweetly a new song
He discreetly totes heart along
Like bell ringing wind chime chirp
Sage eyes drinking his chest no shirt

Skinny dipping is not amber allowed
We’re not tripping no one here now
Except earthworms fish and bull frogs
Jump in with me let’s cool off

Skinny dipping in shade of a tree
Hearts skipping like pebble on spring
Color me naughty full of passion for you
Fun spring love under skies in youth
