Rainy Day

The rain this morning is a bond A wet shadow breaks down her face They, the skies — drip in her blue blood The rain this morning is a bond For outstretched palm is bitten some, A lifetime within the cloud's chase — The rain this morning is a bond A wet shadow breaks down her face.

This poem beautifully personifies rain as a deep, emotional bond. It evokes a powerful sense of connection between the individual and the weather, suggesting a shared, almost melancholic, experience.

Paige, this triolet is soaked in mood and meaning--so intimate, so ethereal. “A wet shadow breaks down her face” is both striking and heartbreaking, and the repetition deepens that quiet ache. I love how you turn the rain into both a bond and a burden. Gorgeous work--visceral and haunting.

May bright sunny rays of a beautiful day break through the clouds and dry the rain upon her upturned face soon. Beautifully written in a somber shade of blue. I hope the rain will go away soon <3

Deep, I read it several times and was amazed at how much emotion was delivered in just 8 lines. You are excellent at depth. I enjoyed the poem, Paige (SoupMail) ... CayCay

Dear Paige, I love how you let the rain become so much more than just weather for its memory, its longing, and its ache of being alive and feeling everything. The image of a “wet shadow” breaking down her face is so tender. I can almost see the raindrops mingling with tears, or maybe just the softest surrender to whatever the day brings. Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel
