During the Fall of 2022, I was introduced to a new experience.
I was tagged by the Fish and Game Department and dropped
off in an unfamiliar area. I guess they like to study the likes of
me in their research.
They forced me to scare people needlessly as I searched for food.
I wish that I could tell them that it's not my fault, that I had no
say in the matter, and that I have simply been reduced to a project,
a study, at their expense.
I remember the time that I saw a man sitting by a window. Upon seeing him,
I walked over to the window hoping to make friends with him, but I quickly
saw that he was afraid and drove me away.
I wish that they knew how I feel when I hear the loud sound of gun fire.
No one is trying to kill me, but I have feelings and fears similar to their
own when I hear such threading sounds. Just because I am a bear doesn't
mean that I desire to hurt people.
I have seen pictures of friends on Alaska cruise,
The Denali landscape looked so stark, no hues.
No frozen or floating icebergs, no polar bears catching the fish,
The caribou stood alone, in the waning forest, a solemn wish.
I used my pixel phone, live translate to talk,
To the lonely mature bear, we took a thoughtful walk.
He understood my desire, promised me the dreamland's gleam,
The gentle bear twirled my cane, as magic's silver stream.
With magic, glaciers formed again, pristine and bright,
The snow fell, blizzards came, the forest turned green overnight.
The polar bear and her cub, fished the shores so grand,
Caribou danced in snowy woods, joy spreading through the land.
Northern sea otters swam delightfully in ice-cold water,
Spectacles eider, short-tailed albatross, flying squirrels, all did scatter.
They showed their maneuvers with glee and grace,
Even wood bison appeared, returning from the past's embrace.
But when I woke up from my dream so clear,
The stark realities struck, and sadness was near.
I hope the dwindling birds and animals, facing global warming's strife,
Will survive and thrive, embracing a new lease on life.
For Islay Stoutjesdyk. With love and light on your sad day. Hugs and love.

My little black bear
You are my dearest heart
You've gone to kitty heaven
And for now we are apart
Thank you for your friendship
Thank you for being my companion
Thank you for your love and light
For every single and precious minute
I will always love you beyond words
I'll hold our precious memories within my soul
So that we'll be connected in every lifetime
For you make my being truly whole
My little black bear
My dearest heart of hearts
You've given this human great joy
I thank you for your blessed spark

A black blur of movement, caught my eye
I looked out the window to see a young black bear walk by
I was on the phone and I spoke so loud through an open sliding door
It ran away because they do not like loud noise
It is one of the best defenses from any harm
There was no time for a photo as it disappeared into the woods
They visit my yard each summer and this time it was late
It is a sight to see each summer, but worth the wait

Don't
tease the bear
she'll win
A black bear climbed a tree.
The tree
was not in a suburb,
more an un-walled hiking space.
A concerned cell phone monitor
caught the bear up a tree
while it was being a bear up a tree.
This cannot stand.
A bear up a tree,
almost near to us,
we who jog, walk, or off-road
near the very same kind of tree!
The press are alerted.
News trucks race to see
a bear up a tree.
Pundits posit humane euthanasia,
some favor dope-filled blow guns,
poles and nets.
The bear cannot hear the news,
for it is up a tree.
An outraged dawn breaks.
The bear is no longer up a tree,
it has been spotted
as definitely not up a tree!
For days no black bear is seen
climbing a tree,
or even a nearby tree.
News trucks race to be
somewhere else.
The Georgia black bear roamed around
Looking for food to eat
Maybe a place of warm safety
And some edible meat
Inside the warm house he feels safe
But a woman is there
It was his mistake to choose this place
Into other's eyes did stare
Then the bear did attack full force
He bit into her skull
He broke her arm and her leg into
Her Chihuahua did not mull
The barking Chihuahua ran the bear
His owner now safe, secure
Help was on the way to ease her pain
Though now she must endure
I told this story to my grandson
Who was taking it all in
He looked at me and said, her thoughts
The bear must have eaten
It was on the news about this story of the woman, bear and Chihuahua. They said on the news how if a bear comes at you to stand your ground look large and make a lot of noise like the Chihuahua. I think that God was looking after that woman to save her life.
Cute black bear has a perfect behind
and her manicured paws are so kind
When she sits on a chair
all the male bears just stare -
her sheer beauty, it just blows their mind!
A friend has given me a little black bear as a replacement for the soft toy we used to have in my husband’s car – I hope she lasts as long as our old ‘guard dog’!

to black bear
to black bear, cub, or lair
i really dont care
nobody likes days of dawn
being treated like a pawn
you do see
so lovingly
only your point of view
and not the minority, or of the few
who's voices do make sense
but your afraid to see, hence
your darkening tunnel
with a widening funnel
your bricks in a wall
taking a tumbling fall
you need to think
and not blink
at voices that do make sense
and not refute such as nonsense
your words feathering his nest
very classic at best
i say no to the games you play
like pawns on a board you slay
like the back stab with what you did to me
where i was suppressed with no voice to plea

a black bear roams the yards
of Camden residents
was tranquilized moments ago
she had come accustomed to being fed
by the hand of humans
an accident waiting to happen
looking into that pathway
of my woods sitting from my daybed
my heart races as I
imagine her coming toward me
standing on her hind legs
front paws waving at me
as her terrifying growls
burst from her mouth
sharp teeth
breaking down my sliding glass door
to feed on my flesh
her massive beastly power scares me
into submission
as i play dead
The Black Bears roam the mountain top
Just before Dawn, you hear the “Hooo”
The mating call Incessant : “ STOP!! “
Infects the mind, infecting : “ YOU “
My Black Soul travels Everywhere
The Black Bears roam the mountain top
My Dreams : I am a Rogue Black Bear
“Hooo” “Hooo” “Hooo” ; I too, can not “STOP!! “
Hallucinogens : “ Quite a Crop “
Growing along the Forest floor
The Black Bears roam the mountain top
Eating Weeds off the Forest floor
Insanity, Reality
Imagination : “Do not “STOP””
Wandering Through “ Eternity “
The Black Bears roam the mountain top

Dedicated to my "Sister Spirt" -- "Lynette Charchere" with LOVE ALWAYS and FOREVER
I was taking a walk in the woods when
I was a kid when I saw my FIRST Bear.
Yes in deed he was Black his fur shinning,
gleaming like a shinny new penny from the
suns light shinning through the tall Pine trees.
I stood ever so still watching him as he chewed
the Berries off the brush, one by on this big
wild Bear gently taking the berries off.
I thought WOW something this big can be this
gentle I was struck with instant love and respect.
He knew I was watching him but never once
tried to hurt me or growl he just kept eating
and chewing until finally he had his fill.
Then he put his big paws upon one of the trees
and clawed it I jumped with such amazement.
After he finished he went on his way and I rushed
back to tell everyone that I had seen my very
First Big Black Bear I knew from that day on I
would love all Animals of all kinds Big and Small.
