Best kept secret in China
When the Bangiao dam collapsed
No one told for a long time
This was 1975, before people had computers or an internet
240, 000 people died that day, and no one told.
Best kept secret in China
Best kept secret until wisdom catches up with you -
Hit those high points of living, not for yourself,
but to serve, to love…it’s a short list when you look back.

our bodies, comforted in heat ~

My best kept secret has remained hidden down the well
And kept me from a life of hell,
Keeping me from being under a spell,
And becoming an empty shell
I have even managed to keep the secret from myself,
Where it remains unnamed on a shelf,
Safe from even an elf.
If it ever came out I would have no defence,
And could not escape by climbing over a fence
Or acquire help via a reference.
If it ever got out what addiction I could not handle,
Others would follow me with a ladle,
Til I was crying like a baby in a cradle.
I count my blessings every day,
And pray for those whose secret has been blown away,
Cursing those who make a living out of which should not hold sway,
And those who turn a blind eye to give them headway.
I have a small secret love in my life,
A marriage I love to do,
It’s when I use the stapler,
Making one grouped sheet from two.
The heavy duty mechanical,
The straight, to big, to small,
I love the crunch of bending steel,
The papered wedding, I love it all.
And at special times there’s 5 sheets or more,
A bunch to join as one.
Then, when the pile of paper’s so big,
I use the electric staple gun.
My small secret I keep so quiet,
I never want to create a scene.
I just quietly work my job, 9 to 5,
With the photocopy machine.

My love, my love is here
Waiting
Here,
Under the stars
So far
We stand here and I look into your eyes that smile at me
My light bkue eyes sparkle through the week
And I smile wide
My, oh my, if they only knew what I hide
You're my best kept secret
Take me in your arms fantasy love,
I think of how I must need this
Afterall it is unordinary to lone
I gently fold my hands in prayer and to Him I can give all of me
I cry at His presence
So overwhelmed at His love
He is so gentle yet strong
My first love
I have returned
you could be my best kept secret
the type of secret i'd keep in a mason jar
sitting on my windowsill
sunlight shining through the darkest parts of you
and as dust motes collect and float midair
i'll be there
with a gentle hand, ready to wipe off the dirt
like the sadness i wish i could relieve of you
I know - I’m supposed to keep this secret
easy, by month one nothing’s visible yet
in month two damn sickness greets morn
and I’m wishing I’d never been born
by end of third deep serenity’s applied
and all appears to be settled inside
with the fourth my bump starts to show
and I wonder ... when will parents know
in the fifth my movements stop still
while the baby’s march up and down hill
come the sixth I rest both bodies a lot
and this secret’s become more of a plot
tell Mama - with her help I struggle from bed
for the joyous day that I am to be wed
in my seventh the secret’s quite clear
well, I'm married, so ignore “Dear oh dear”
greet the eighth with a football enhancing
boy or girl, baby’s into break dancing
meet the ninth with many a groan
when will this huge bubble be done ?
At start of tenth with a push, screams and shout
finally my best-kept and worst-kept secret is OUT
right now, I want all the wide world to know
football’s burst, and it’s ON with life’s show
bubble, champagne and hubby all Pop
though whacked, where I’m in the world is on top !
