Cold Hard Steel

Cold Hard Steel
My mouth wide open, gasping for breath, splashing, gurgling
Hopelessly going nowhere, treading, losing the fight
I can’t hear the clanking or yelling anymore, today is the day I have succumbed to his cruelness, numb, no thoughts, no feelings just sinking, floating, slowly being dragged down below
His lack of love and affection has surrounded me like a cold hard steel chain bound around me.
The black oval links is evidence that evil is not part of the circle of life
I’m drowning. He’s not listening. Why won’t he help me? Doesn’t he care?
How did I let it go this far?
A light from above, an angel reaches out a hand, follow me
Bursting through the crashing waves I rise above the depth of darkness
To find that God will always love me
All my tears have faded. Joyful smiles every day.
He is still part of my life but the chain has been broken, I have been set free because God will always
love me.
Even on the days when he doesn’t show me love and kindness
I know I am not alone in this big old house. I kneel and take it to the throne.
And tell God about my day.

Inspirational song Chain Breaker by Zac Williams
Original poem 7/22/17

Beware of Chucky Duck

Lake Eliza 2...
Out near dusty Lake Eliza
Lived sweety tart, where flies are
Sucked oddly Emu eggs some sunny days
Like a dozen egg appetiser (1 egg = 1 dozen fowl egg)
She got em off the miser
Rotten eggs old Emu walked away (in disgust)

Of course she had a rooster
Who had a name like Zac the Brewster
Who was always a riding the duck
So she shot him with a trap gun…(3/4” water pipe)
12 gauge lead did flatten one
Rooster on toast laughed ol Chuck

A Sand goanna lame
wanted eggs just the same
So he crawled into the chook house for a feed (fowl abode)
Duck Chuck saw him there
spat n shat n tore his hair
rode the old Goanna yes indeed

So we leave ol Lake Eliza
without being any wiser
just beware of Ducky Chuck
and the ol tart that lingers
and the rancid smelly dingus
just rotten emu eggs you’re out of luck Don Johnson

Premium Member That Decrepit Old Man

In the dog days of summer, the kids discover a decrepit house and the old man (Rentaro Mikuni) who lives there alone.
— Zac Ntim, Deadline, 4 Feb. 2025

He was an old decrepit man, was he not?
His clothes tattered; his trousers held by a knot.
Few rooms: a chair, a table and rotten cot.
He lived in an old ruined house, full of rot.

His clothes tattered; his trousers held by a knot.
He ate sparsely of some fish he sometimes bought.
He lived in an old ruined house, full of rot.
Rarely some good older soul, some meat she brought.

He ate sparsely of some fish he sometimes bought.
Winter was too cold whilst summer was too hot.
Rarely some good older soul, some meat she brought.
Children loved his stories and explained each thought.

Winter was too cold, whilst summer was too hot.
Few rooms. a chair, a table and rotten cot.
Children loved his stories he explained each thought.
He was an old decrepit man, was he not?

Premium Member The Goddess Dawn’s Golden Hour

“Shine/ It’s your golden hour (oh)/ You slow down time/ in your golden hour (oh)” Lyrics from JVKE’s “Golden Hour” (Jake Lawson/ Zac Lawson)

I waken and see Dawn is raining down.
A goddess, she wears sun as her crown.
Her droplets (not wet) are instead, gold rays
sweeping landscapes as a flared flowing gown.

Glorious are the Goddess Dawn’s ways
as resplendency on my lawn she lays.
Flower petals pose, ready to unfold -
their faces upon the goddess to gaze.

How beautiful is my garden to behold -
Daylillies making a parade of gold
and the Morning Glories, facing the sky,
dance in the breeze. They’re enchantingly bold.

Their crimson faces are anything but shy.
Everywhere their warm brilliance meets my eye.
Birdsong now has stilled! Sky grows deeper blue.
To the “Golden Hour” I must say goodbye.

Premium Member Song Lyric - Backyard Vacation

Backyard Vacation
(Country, male vocal, speed/tempo in vein of Zac Brown Band's "Knee Deep" w/Jimmy Buffet)

When life’s hurdles got ya goin’
Around in circles without you knowin’
And it seems they’ll never end

I take a walk in my backyard
I like that it’s so large
There I look around and take it all in

Sometimes life feels strained
It shows us joy and sometimes pain
I’m here to tell ya a backyard can explain..
That just for a few minutes
So long as a hammock’s in it
Life’s trials can’t ever beat out a sunny day

I’m lucky got a few nice acres
Trees and a pond from our good lord maker
I’m thinkin’ it’s funny how it got this way

As I take in the view
And tell myself don’t be a fool
This feeling is what you never want to go away

Sometimes life feels strained
It shows us joy and sometimes pain
I’m here to tell ya a backyard can explain..
That just for a few minutes
So long as a hammock is in it
Life’s trials can’t ever beat out a sunny day

The beauty you’ll see offers a hedge
Like a tree’s reflection against the water’s edge
It’s a paintin’ you can see in your mind
It’s all a gift so enjoy the tryin’

Sometimes life feels strained
It shows us joy and sometimes pain
I’m here to tell ya a backyard can explain..
That just for a few minutes
So long as a hammock’s in it
Life’s trials can’t ever beat out a sunny day

Can’t ever beat out a sunny day..

They met a few years ago
On a Texas Hold'em site
Cautious to exchange info

Wanted a few hours of fun
Play cards, laughter and flirting
Profiles had lives of their own

Elderly Jack and Lucille
At night young Zac and Camille
Sexy pics no way were real

They soon fell for each other
Poker players saw it all
She was baby, he lover

Zac and Camille by day now
Texted and talked hours on end
Reality blurred somehow

There were bumps along the way
Players witnessed the drama
Jealousy problem they say

Life plans were made together
Generous fake gifts were bought
A house, jewelry, whatever

The worst that could happen did
Camille noticed Zac straying
Uncovered things he had hid

How could he do this to them
Her heart was broken in two
For real now a fake victm

My question to you would be
Who was catfish... catfisher
It started so innocently

My School Friend Zac

Yak, yak, yak, my school friend Zac
Just loves to have a talk,
Sometimes his tongue gets so hot
He dips it in the water trough,
Zac really is a dork.

Music

All American Rejects are dull
Blues music is full of soul
Country music keeps me sane
Danity Kane are really vain
Eminem came back from his "trip"
Folk music is pretty lame
Grunge music is about the same
Hip Hop relates to my life
Indian music makes me want a knife
Jay Z has good new songs
Kayne has been seen in a thong
Lady Gaga is moving up
Make cool beats
New music is out
Oldies are whack
Brittney is back
Queen Latifa is large
R. Kelly got a charge
Spiritual music is calming
Taken to the top of the charts
Underdogs need to get some smarts
Videos on MTV
Wild and crazy is what they'll be
X-tremely good
Young and hip

Saturday Morning

Distant babble, a shout, an egg beater,
What does the clock say?
More noise, a dream dancing just beyond memory’s reach,
Where are my glasses?
6:45, no, 8:54
I found them on the sill.
Down one, then two floors,
The babble becomes intelligible.

Mom’s answering emails
Bob plays Toy Crush
I see Zac reading
Despite the lack of hush

Lydea and Becca make us pancakes,
No, it’s muffins that they make.
What kind is still in question
Because the batter isn’t done.

Violet yells at random people,
But she is only four.
She throws a yellow tape measure,
It skitters across the floor.

Haylee’s still asleep
How, I do not know.
But in her sleep she misses
What is going on below.

Dad is at the temple
Diligently serving God
He wants his family all to know
That his devotion is still strong.

Saturdays and family
Are pretty much the best.
Except for when my mom says
“Now clean up your huge mess.”

Still I wouldn’t trade them for the world
Though into it I’m being hurled
And when I think of imminent leaving
My heart in two is slowly cleaving
But it’s time to go
So they should know,
I’ll keep them close to me.

Efron Jevron

Ball in the pocket,
Glass eye in the socket,
Ripped abs,
big dabs,
too many fingers in too many pies,
Zac Efron has a glass eye

Funny Cracker Jacks

My good friend Zac
decided to make a crack
about me writing poems
so I figured I would show em
about what it really meant
to be a true poet
so instead of just running my mouth
I would shut him up and show it

As he began to say a poem
that was to me,mean and cruel
a cat grabbed him by his tongue
and made him look like a fool

Now this man they call Zac
he tells many women lies
some say he's womanizer
some say he destroys lives

but with all this reputation
don't misconfuse my interpretation
for this man is my friend
many say he's a good hand

with the imagination of a 4 yr old
He truly believes
He's full electric volts
and only ask
when you shake his hand
you act like your shocked
and die like a man

I know that makes no sense
He told me to put it in
Like I told you all before
This man is my friend

Like funny Cracker jacks
they show there true colors
they only feel better
when they tease and taunt another

So if you see my friend Zac
ever walking down the street
Please O god punch him in the face
and please say it was from me

Project Runway

Hear the challenge; make a sketch.
Take a trip to Mood.
In the workroom, get a taste
Of someone’s attitude.

Drape your garment; start to stitch.
Wait for Tim’s advice.
Get those seams and zippers straight;
Sometimes sew them twice.

Fit your models; then consult
For make-up and for hair.
Race against the clock as you
So desperately prepare.

Then the runway show begins,
As models preen and strut.
Feel so proud, ‘til Nina’s frown
Just kicks you in the gut.

Zac and Heidi and a guest
Dole negatives or praise.
Someone hears “Auf Wiedersehen,”
That awful farewell phrase.

Take a breath, you’ve made it through,
But there’s no time for crowing;
Win or lose, you’re on TV –
Thank goodness, you learned sewing!

Prozac

Zac you are a pro
When it comes to feeling
Nothing,
you take me to a place
Without sensation.
To numb the pain you take
Both dark and light,
I have become
A shadow of last springs flower,
I have become
An arid vessel with nothing to carry.
Zac you are a pro
At seeing things a different way;
But I like the color
And the twisted shapes,
I like the tears and how they taste,
I like that there is still something within
That beats.
You are a pro Zac at what you do,
But I like my tuneful sadness
And my strange ways,
I no longer wish for the emptiness you offer
But crave some kind of life instead.
You are a bitter pill
That I can no longer stomach

The Lucky One

Inspired by The Lucky One, starring the lovely Taylor Schilling and inimitable Zac Efron. A beautiful and moving story. Life is precious and amazing. Let's appreciate it.

"Sometimes finding the light means passing through the deepest darkness."

The Lucky One
By Michelle Morris
06/01/2025

I was in a war zone, sweetheart
When I found your picture in the dirt
I became The Lucky One
Surviving every bullet and hurt

Like a Secret Talisman
Like a Guardian Angel sent from above
Your photograph kept me safe
Your Spirit kept me loved

Even though we hadn't met yet
Even though we were worlds apart
I carried my Gratitude for you each day
I carried it deep in my Heart

And when I returned to civilian life
I walked many miles to meet you
I wanted to thank you in person
But when we met, my words were muted

I couldn't bring myself to say them
I couldn't find the courage to share
Instead I worked for you
And appreciated the chance to care

Yes, there I found a Peace
Yes, there I found some Comfort
I melted my Fear and Isolation
I melted into your arms and pure Love

Our Love Story may not be perfect
But our Love Story is truly unique
And my Love for you is everlasting
It's a connection strong and deep

And one day when we're old and grey
And we look back on our lives
We can thank the lovely stars above
For urging our Souls to be inspired

The Opposite of Love: Use

My heart has been crushed, without a single touch.
What the ones give me power, is now my crutch.
It was given with love, such an honest, strong heart.
Then snatched from my being, and torn all apart.
I gathered the pieces, the best of my ability.
I fear what the once gave love, now only gives hostility.
When I've mended the heart that belongs to Zac,
I'll never Love the same, some was lost in the cracks.
