Whats in a name
As i look on the soup
From various backgrounds
And various nooks

English, Hispanic
French too
How did we get the names
Of me and you

What do they mean
What do they say
After all
Their with us everyday

Mac the son of
MacDonald the name
As all the clans
Use the same frame

Mr Smith of Anvil fame
Mr Miller of flour, grain
Histories past
Honed our names

All of our names are nice in their way
All have History, all have their say
One name on here i like for sure
Its the amazing name
" Kristy De La Keur "

Whats Broken

What’s Broken?

Some things that are broken can never be fixed
Like hearts shattered, as glass on the floor
What felt like love, don’t no more
No distance No time
No rhythm No rhyme
No song No Dance
No Coincidence No chance
Hey if distance only makes the heart grow fonder
What about time, It only makes you wonder
Like
What about that time we were together
At the place we use to go
You held my hand
I stared in your eyes
The telephone ranged us
Back to realty
Mic check one two one two
I looked back and where were you
Gone without a trace, or explanation.
It felt like a plan shot down from the sky
Or a child falling from a building
Right before your eye
Or a laboring mom with great anticipation
Only to be told that it was still born
Yeah that’s a heart breaker,
 Yeah that’s a Faith Shaker
Yeah that’s a breath taker,
 Lies Deceit
 Cries Defeat
 Who are we to judge?
What more can we say
If our heart got broken
We got what we deserved.

Everybody Look Whats Going Down

The time has always been near as the Lord has said
Now just being more clear as all things move ahead
Man has distanced himself in so leaving God alone
More worried about personal wealth than God’s Glory shown

A trap ready to be sprung for all those who are wandering by
Of praises being left unsung by an inept ability to even try
A roadway filled with snares hidden from the naked eye
So worried of earthly cares thus dismissing what could belie

Once the time has passed there will be no turning back
For what one has not amassed is for what one will lack
The fork no longer in the road, it is simply a straight run
But what is now owed in not so recognizing God’s only Son

The sun will continue to set and the moon will still rise
But in what you have let you will now come to realize
Being far from the Word is simply fellowship with the enemy
It hasn’t occurred because the enemy doesn’t want you to see

Whats the Point?

I'll stop being
so disappointing
If you'll stop being
so disappointed in me

Whats Lost

I know a lot wont agree with this one, but i have my reasons, its a touchy subject i know, and i'm sure reviews will be mixed but im ok with that.

  A hero's life ended today,
before he ever came to be;
He'll never take his first steps,
or the person he's supposed to be.
He won't get to run in races,
or wear the ribbons that he earned;
He won't have plaques upon his walls,
in honor of all he learned.
He won't get to have a first date,
or hold someone he loves so dear;
  He won,t celebrate his bithdays,
when they pass him by each year.
  He won't bear any children,
to carry on his good name;
He'll never see them smile at Christmas,
or teach them any games.
He'll never get to walk down the aisle,
in a dashing tuxedo all adorned;
For it was chosen for this hero not to live,
before he was ever born.
He won't fight for his country,
for the freedoms we all share;
For the freedom to live was denied him,
by his country who forgot to care....

Letters Grow Up To Be Words

"Words are just letters,
Pasted together

Their individual sound makes no sense
But formed together they are heaven sent

Giving each letter a voice,
It’s message our choice

As we chose letters to fit,
To form the words of our script

Expressing what is in us,
Framing moments we can trust

To explain feelings within,
And to know where to begin

Today or tomorrow,
Be it joy or sorrows

Picking letters that explain,
Feelings of happiness or pain

Understanding that the “u” and “I”,
Always determines the “why”

Of moments and events,
That each day presents."

Premium Member Whats Behind a Smile

She broke my heart instantly
She made me stare reverently
Her smile was enigmatically
Serene yet sad, so strange to see

Not a word did she speak to me
No attention did she seek from me
She just sat there smiling quietly
And her smile just kept on haunting me

What's Behind a Smile?

When I stood up she turned her head
Once more that smile filled me with dread
Had she understood anything I’d said?
Ethereal beauty, were you alive or dead?

As I stepped down from the train
I turned and looked. My chest in pain.
The shock at seeing her again
Smiling at me through the window pane

I walked away - my nerves drawn tight
As the train sped off in the station’s light
I stared again - I had no fight
She caught my eye and smiled outright!

Time’s now passed; still clear I see
Her short blonde hair bobbing so gently
Her bright blue eyes smiling benignly
Piercing straight through my soul to me.

Whats Your Story

When your days are numbered
When it's time to pass on
What will be your story
You'll choose to leave the world

Will you leave a romantic novel
With hero's and horses
Rescuing damsels in distress
Fixing hearts that are broken

Will your life be an adventure
Traveling far and abroad
Whether by air on a plane
Will you stretch your sea legs out

Maybe a horror story
Will be your demise
You tried everything to escape
But your soul it still died

Some choose comedy
It masks all the pain
They laugh and laugh
Leaving pleasure in stead

No matter your choosing
It's your life to tell
So do it with passion
Make sure that it sells

~Doing What's Right~
(Sonnet)

Many seek "stardom" by destroying their self,
To get into the so-called media-spot light,
But Daniel achieved this in a better way,
When he and his friends did what was right.

When captived by a ruthless invading nation,
It was unlikely they'd be heard from ‘gain,
But the godly men distinguished themselves
As very intelligent and truth worthy to begin

And when the King had a dream that his wise
Men couldn't repeat nor interpret to him,
He condemn them right there to death,
After a night of prayer Daniel got a gift.

The gift of interpreting the King's dream,
As God made Daniel part of his royal team.

My name was popular way back when I was born
I’m sure my parents had no idea what it meant
It’s rare now, it surely sounds old fashioned
But I know my family thought I was heaven sent

”Foreigner, traveler and stranger” I am told
Odd that I have never even traveled very far
Strangely enough I do have those yearnings
Perhaps I am really from a distant star….

I was named after a dear friend they say
She was a nurse and I became one too
Raised a family and have been content
Should I have traveled more? I wish I knew….

WHATS FOR DINNER

Premium Member Whats Up Doc

Bored out of my skull in my hospital bed
You’ll be here for Christmas, the consultant said
What happened next made me bubbly as Fanta
Two nurses came in, they were dressed up as Santa

My blood pressure took by a couple of flirts
With very long legs and very short skirts
One just bent over so it’s not surprising
The other one told me my blood pressure’s rising

You won’t need a Rabi, a priest or a vicar
Ain’t nothing wrong with this fella’s ticker
Its pounding away like Cozy Powell’s drums
You don’t expect nurses to have shapely bums

One licked her lips and... crikey, she’s winking
What a good job she don’t know what I’m thinking
Oh Lord, something’s happened just like I had feared
I really could do with a full knee length beard

There’s nothing gallant about what’s in my head
With them in their scanty gear, ermine and red
But I think they’ve guessed cos there ain’t no disguising
The sweat on my brow and my temperature rising

They sit on my bed and I smirk like I’m bolder
The next thing I feel is a hand on my shoulder
The Santas remain in the world of the sleepy
In this world there’s matron...
Not sexy
Just creepy

Whats Sexy To Me

What’s sexy to me, changed with my age
It’s something different at each life stage

During my pre-teens, what turned me on
Were the toys and games played on the lawn

A teenage kiss put me in a twirl
That was the age I discovered girls

The dating years were sexy and great
The came my honeymoon with my mate

Then a young adult’s sexist thrill
Was our first child; she forgot the pill

My middle age major commotion
A sexy bonus or promotion

Golf was sexy in retirement years
So was kicking back, having a beer

What’s sexy now I’m seventy-five
Is to wake up and still be alive
