How To Eat An Oreo

Do you know exactly how to eat and Oreo,
Well to do it you,
You unscrew it.....very fast.
'Cause a kid will eat the middle of an Oreo first;
And save the chocolate cookie outside for last.

Sing Me A Jingle Contest

An Illicit Affair

It was an illicit affair, you'd think, they wouldn't dare, they believed, if we handle it with care no one would be aware. Bur they made a grave err and it became a very heavy cross to bear.

Now the woman had flare with long, wavy hair, very well to do, a millionaire, she was known as cleaver Clair. Clair was doing just fine, marriage in tact, the woman was stacked, walking a straight line. Out of the blue, her life turned on a dime.

When she met a man who looked to be grand, seemed to have the upper hand, in complete command and he was called dapper Dan.

Dapper Dan was a secretive.man, although he had a wife and kids, he kept it very well hid. But Claire didn't mind, felt she needed to unwind and leave everything else behind, traveling a road completely blind.

Now they both were prominent the very substance in life they seemed to represent and all the people were looking at them with amazement. Until they looked into each other's eyes and was taken by surprise, they became mesmerized, what came next was very unwise.

They threw caution to the wind and committed the ultimate sin. It felt a so right, it couldn't be wrong, they were singing love songs, two people that just didn't belong. Things soon started to go wrong.

When they had to settle for quickies as their lives became tricky and the affair really sticky. No matter how hard they tried to keep it hid, life opened the lid then came an awful smell when life dropped a bombshell. It was time to say farewell.

Yes the jig was up and they had to drink from an extremely bitter cup. And they were genuinely sad for they could plainly see the beautiful lives they already had. Since they knew they had strayed they became afraid, for the first time in their lives they prayed.

Eventually they put their lives back together but they had to go through some awfully stormy weather. For those beautiful lives they earned. A hard lesson learned.

You see, you can work your game but it will take aim, put a bead on you like a sniper, then strikes like a pit viper, although your schemes can have you feeling hyper. Remember, just around the bend there awaits. The Piper.

Premium Member Captain Luna

On a horse at the crossroads a pistol in his hand
Dressed in dark clothing he looked fine and grand
Waiting in the moonlight for the York coach to appear
With cool nerves of steel; he showed no fear.

A gentleman by day and a Highwayman by night
Only carried out his crimes when the moon shone bright
Nicknamed Captain Luna; there was a price on his head
If you didn’t part with your valuables you’d end up dead

He heard it in the distance; the approaching coach
A lady friend had requested a necklace or a brooch
He'd heard some well to do had attended a ball
They'd be dripping with jewellery; he wanted it all.

He moved onto the road as the coach drew near
His face covered with a black mask to instill fear
He ordered the two coachmen “slow down to a stop
And throw down those bags you have on the top”.

He then shouted to the passengers" alight if you please
And line up if you will, over yonder by them tree’s”
Three ladies and a gentleman dressed in clothes so fine
Adorned with jewellery that twinkled, in the moonshine.

He said “you and your fine jewellery must forever part
Please fill up my leather bag and I'll let you depart”
The ladies were crying thinking that they'd all die
They thought anything Captain Luna said would be a lie.

He went through the bags and pulled out a silk dress
And thought to himself this will fit my lady friend Tess
He picked up his leather bag and into the night rode away
Leaving his victims quite shaken and in total disarray.

Premium Member Who Among Us

Who Among Us?
By Franklin Price
12/20/2020

Who among us will now stand up, as our founding fathers did.
Look at where we are today, because we've run away and hid.
Washington is driving us, not the other way around.
They don't listen to the people, don't like the song of freedom's sound
They're on the throne, controlling us, to take away our given rights,
established by the Constitution, which is also in their sights.

Been building now for many years, their thoughts of royalty
The Parties there, pull us apart, there's no middle road to see
They put lucre in their pockets from the rich and well to do.
That's why many are in office, they're not there for me and you

It's time that We the People, who have little but our voice,
make it heard in Washington, so that Congress has no choice.
We must come out of hiding, get our heads out of the sand,
stand up to those in Washington, or we soon will lose our Land.

Put our net and mail to work. Let the ones in Congress know
If they don't listen to the people, then they, for sure, will have to go.
Do I hear that you can't do it, that you don't know what to say
Then talk to friends and neighbors you have met along the way.
Was not one founding father, who first started all this fun.
Gather again the ones for liberty, or these United States are done.

If you believe these words, please pass them along to all you can, in any manner you have; especially to your Senators and Representatives in Congress.

Premium Member Maybe Tomorrow

"it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" Luke 18:25

How rich must I be to give all that I can?
To help ease the suffering of my fellow man.
Those that are homeless & constantly hungry.
To give all that I can , how rich must I be?

Always food on my table, what I call quite well to do.
The woman on the street for her next meal not a clue.
I know I should give as much as I am possibly able.
What I call well to do, always food on MY table.

Maybe tomorrow, I will see if there is anything I can give.
Or maybe someone richer than I will offer help for them to live.
I don’t actually have enough to do much to ease their sorrow.
I will see if there is anything I can give, maybe tomorrow.

Poor White Trash

Some say
 they were pure white trash
and the rich took a glancing pass
as we walked the streets bared a....
But not one of us really cared
ignoring their well to do stares.

As kids, we all laughed and danced
 annoying the better dismay glance.

Mama took us by the hand
and the teens acted as if they were part of a grunge band
and such disarray kept us always on display
 as we happily danced away.

Some watcher bees said we must live in forest trees
having no iota of couth when we sneezed
but still, we were happily unawares and that's the truth
pure white trash never needed things for worth's proof.

The Midnight Train

Feeling like a lost soul I sit, as the train rocks me to and fro
the woman next to me is jovial and pleasant, with a glow

We chat and pass the hours sharing amicably without restraint
then she tells me she is heading for London to marry, oh how quaint

Perhaps your marriage will be blessed from heaven? this I say
as the gentlemen across from me smiles, cool as the month of May

I can see from his polished shoes and his gray fedora hat
that he's a man of well to do, much accustomed to small pratt

Later in the evening as I sip my tea with clotted cream
I notice how he stares at me, as if I were a dream

Feeling lonely and quiet daring I invite him to sit down
it is then that I do notice, that his eyes are chestnut brown

"Going to London to visit my grandma" I say, "she lives by the sea"
"I can escort you Mademoiselle," he says, then tips his hat at me.

Premium Member Maid For The Ungrateful

She's thirty-three, single,
her Mom babysits her
five year old son.
She reassures herself it's
just two more hours,
then it's the blessed weekend.
Which means delicious sleep.
She has no nest egg,
she's just getting by.

There is one kind aging matron
who makes her lunch when she
cleans her large stately home.
Yet, other well-to-do homeowners
cast their false superiority heavy
in the air as she imagines wiping
off their smug faces with Pledge.

She hums to a catchy pop tune
while scrubbing toilets and
spraying down whirlpool bathtubs
as her muscles ache,
wishing she could soak in one.
Maid for the ungrateful,
she smiles remembering her
First Holy Communion,
her snow-white lacy veil,
with her rosary of pearlescent
ivory beads.
Then, a memory of
teenage politics of high school
with random daydreams like
impromptu snapshots.

Her lips and throat dry from
those wretched aerosol sprays,
always forgetting her face mask.
A few sips of tepid Gatorade,
as she softly prays her son will
excel in school.
Her learning disabilities held
her back despite her gift of
intelligence.

This day's cleaning was at the
home of a lawyer's snooty wife,
who was lunching with friends
after klutzy attempts at tennis
at the country club.
Maid for the ungrateful,
can hardly wait to get home
to soak her worn feet with
warm water and Epsom salt
in a porcelain basin. ~

“Your mother’s love, the silent devotion ,the never heard prayers, the unseen care.” ~~ Shobhna Kanwar~~

She stood in the foyer of the church, through the window to the aisle.
Her threadbare clothes hung around her form in denial.
She watched him take her arm, as they approached the groom.
A hush was heard as the organ played in the room.

How stunning the bridesmaids, four beautiful girls,
The bride exquisite, her delicate lace gown studded with pearls.
The crowd were obviously all well to do,
Men in Versace suits, women clad in Channel and Dior too.

She listened as they said their vows and swore to be true.
She smiled as he proclaimed to his bride “I love you”.
Marriage complete, they would all soon walk out to the street.
It was time for the hagged woman to make a hasty retreat.

He glanced at her but didn’t raise an eyebrow.
She would never be recognized the way she looked now.
It was so long since she had cried, she shed just one tear.
Her dear daughter would never know that her mother was here.

Premium Member Racial Discrimination

"Do you know such a work place
with racial discrimination?"
Asked some *****sapiens friends
who aren't so tall but with fair complexion.

By the way, you can make a guess,
if it is in your local place.
Maybe here, maybe there,
or perhaps abroad or somewhere else.

For this is an absolute experience,
for some who migrate in other places,
When it comes to work payment,
their compensation isn't that worth and fair.

Many are also asking questions,
like those with more responsibilities and work load.
"Why those workers with less but receive more?
Is it because of their color?"

However, "Yes" is isn't the answer,
especially that black and white are paid higher.
Then, they continue to wonder,
and make other presumptions on this matter.

"Aha! The sharpness of the nose maybe
and not either based on work load or one's ability."
So, they think their presumption will come more precisely
to the fact or to the reality?

But, they thought they need not to waste their money
to plan with the doctor for a surgery.
Because if they do and they're getting low salary,
their employer may think they came from a well-to-do family.

It's really hard for them to think
what is the real gauge and basis.
"Is it the height or color of skin?
Aha! It's the color of the hair, they concluded finally.

So, those poor *****sapiens friends
went to beauty parlor in nearby places.
They asked the beautician for help
and colored their hair brown, red, blond and some were golden.

After all of what they did, nothing had happened
because their reward from their effort and work is still the same.
So, they just kept calm and never ever whine again,
realizing that racial discrimination really exists.

Hence, they work harder instead
and never ever I heard their complains.
However, one of them had mention then
that they'll get more reward if they work for God in Heaven.

Politician Ways

Politicians are the most pretentious
to emerge from the primordial mulch
of creation.
They pretend to love,
they pretend to care,
In the case of them doing any deal
remotely benefiting constituents
is on condition they profit in prestige,
wealth and a seat, a boardroom chair.

They hug an old lady its a photo opp
They kiss a baby its a god damn video shot,
Even though the homeless is festering,
lacking in compassion, bolstering they bray,
But miss the point that businesses has
reneged on paying a livable wage

The politicians are one piece of work,
weird that they represent the rich and
well to do,
and to you, dem stuff dem chest with
ashes while exiting poverty,
they knew which way the wind blew

Well, money pour to the centre augmented
by a guard of honor rough beast of men,
though shroud now, don't be surprise when
you find its the politicians.

The Finest Missionary

The Rich:
Our lunch is so tasty and luscious
It’s like in the mission we will see
Hmmm….the air so cold and affectionate
I can finally use my money as well as charm
Crap! My gadgets will indeed save me
Branded clothing will be an impression
That is why; I am the best missionary here
Because I have everything the world
Could ever desire.

The Intellectual:
Yes, to teach is my dearest passion
I’m not like you bird brains
Who are ignorant of knowledge and prestige
I’m the only one who can feed minds
One that thinks and reflects
I will make them understand
The meaning and essence, from Soc to Sartre and beyond
That is why I’m the righteous lad
To be an instrument of God

The Humble:
Just think of the adventures we will encounter
I’m not that rich and smart
But to be with the people is our real task
Not to impress, not to be a cutie, and play with coconut husk
All I want to do is be with God’s people
To serve Him with all my heart
My oblation is everything
This sacrifice is only for Him to offer
Not for man but to the transcendental One

The Adjudicator:
That is all true of what you say
But remember that every minute there may be danger
Snakes, NPA’s, ancient spirits and the current as you walk along the river
Remember, you are all unique in different talents
Use them well to do great things
Be sure that before it gets dark you will find your way
Because the best among you
Just lies beneath the veins.

How precious is the life given for mission?
You will all now become a real servant of the Lord
Doing the same, but in different ways
And let us all rise and pray

Evaporate! Be gone and sleep early
For tomorrow you will get wet and dreary
Finish your food; it may be your last
Godspeed and in Him put all your trust!

Major Sir William Newenham Montague Orpen, KBE, RA, RHA (27 November 1878 – 29 September 1931), was an Irish artist who worked mainly in London. Orpen was a fine draughtsman and a popular, commercially successful, painter of portraits for the well-to-do in Edwardian society, though many of his most striking paintings are self-portraits.

His painting inspired this small verse

The Love Letter

Dear Leonardo,

To begin, I know that you are use to girls who are socialites from well to do families. I didn't answer you last night because I couldn't and although it will be difficult for you to follow this letter, it's important that you read it.

Unlike you, I am not ivy league, nor class President. I don't have fancy clothes in fact, I don't even have a car. Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing here other than my grades afford me a scholarship. I know I should be proud of that and I guess I am in a way but .........

Truthfully the only thing I could attend was your picnic, knowing that my shoes were perfect for volleyball in the sand. I mean......

How could I ever invite you to my home? Not wanting to make this an epistle and simply put, I feel that I am not good enough for you but please know.....

I wish you well and hope that you meet someone like me who as you said, races your heart..
