Outside Influences

The pair couldn’t see beyond the present
Such hope, great expectations
Children, a home, great love

It was what they could not foresee that hurt
She holds their wedding photo
The war took him from her

A Dreamt Event For the Newly-Wed

A dreamt event
for the newly-wed,
both looking sharp;
how many hand-written invitation cards
have they sent
with the reddest heart and lovely words?

Down the church isle they will go with a tight-sealed tounge;
an organist will play the famous wedding song...
be ready to greet them with wide smiles,
despite your approval or disapproval, don't show your intent!
Oh, never try to crash a dreamt event
for the newly-wed, you may get unpleasant surprises
from that priest or reverend performing the holy matrimony!
Be quite and listen, or don't bother to attend the cerimony!

Some envious eyes fix their manacing, inappropiate glances
on them...dreaming of what could have been;
why can't anyone openly admit their sin?
Don't be a pretender and continue the dance,
anyone can sense those thoughts of anger
and resentment...why are you looking so ghostly?
Let go of all stupidity and don't use puffery...
congratulate them with a cheerful toast and a hearty laughter!

A dreamt event
for the newly-wed,...
kissing passionately
without embarassment,
but as others watch with contentment...
the flower girls follow them gracefully
as they hear the wedding bells at twelve!

Wedding Bands

Wedding Bands

I placed a ring on her left hand
A plain white gold wedding band

With all my love this ring is from me
I also wore a ring for people to see

Today the rings have become something more
They also tie us together for evermore

Mine is still on my left hand
From my neck hangs her wedding band

I feel her in my heart and in my life
I still think of her as my wife

Her Last Hurrah

Pinch me,I do believe I'm in love
With the looker who's swaying up above
With his stuff up in the breeze
He does surely aim to please
As I look for another dollar to shove

My girlfriends are shouting and giggling away
We celebrate her upcoming wedding day
Lots of silliness abounds
As we take turns buying rounds
The dancers know what to do and say

Embarrassment's not an option at all
The bride-to-be feels ten feet tall
They show her lots of attention
When her wedding we mention
The party carries on till last call

So glad my birthday wasn't known
Or my cover would've been blown
And I'd the embarrassed one be
As those Chippendales danced for me
A few extra moves would be shown!

An Aristocrat Wedding

A sacred day,
A sacred way,
Of coupling together.

The queen sent her crier,
"Inform the crowd,
Of a wedding in town,
My prince is in love,
I couldn't be more proud!"
Said her majesty.

Set down away the crier left,
In hopes of passing
That joyful message.
He reached the town
And began his chant;

“Hear me hear me,
A royal message
Comes you way,
Listen carefully,
It’s from far far away!

Decorate your town,
Love birds come your way
As wedding bells will soon ring away

The royal prince is in love,
With his beloved,
They will ride this path,
He fulfilled his covet
Of being the new soon king.

A wedding is here now
As all are invited,
Bring your family
Bring your friends
It’s a celebration
With no bends

The castle is far by
Invitations will be sent
The occasion is here
Every one is invited!!"

And with that,
He got on his horse,
After his course,
Going back to the palace.

"Good day!"
He said wishing the queen
"Duties have been done
And now it's time for fun"
He finished.

"Indeed crier,
My desires have come alive
It’s an aristocrat wedding
It has to be unique
It an aristocrat wedding
It has to be of speak
Everyone should have it on their lips,
Because its and aristocrat wedding!!!

Beach Wedding At Dawn

Beach Wedding at Dawn
				© Holly W. Schwartztol

On this wedding morning
The gentle air
Of sunlight dawning

Celebrates this moment
So pristinely clear
Awakening us all

To the promise
Of love’s golden
melody

From the diaphanous
Wings of the dragonfly
Comes the message

That the two of you
Are meant to be
For all eternity

From two
Separate souls
A new family

And we come
Too to
Inhale the salty air

Amid nature’s
Shining gift
At Daybreak

To witness
Your commitment
To new beginnings

And continued
Tenderness and love
Through many pages

Of your story
Still to unfold
Of love’s blossoming

To Rehearse Or Not To Rehearse

He asked her father,
He said, "You may."

He asked her,
She said, "I will!"

To celebrate their engagement,
A party is given, a nice backyard party
With dancing and romancing.

The guest unaware,
Of the change in the air;

Veiled behind closed doors, a secret's revealed.
She tells her sisters, he tells his brothers.
"I'm getting married!Right now, tonight!
Quick, put these on---No time to rehearse."

The guest have seated for dinner to be served.
An announcement is made; dinner is delayed;
The couple is pleased that you are here,
They invited you here, for their wedding to share.

Surprise! You were invited to their engagement party,
but, this is the wedding ceremony, they planned from the start.

Please excuse any mishaps that you may see;
For they did not want to rehearse,
As life is not practiced, and this is their life;
Two become one; for better or worse.

Wedding Night

Embellished with dazzling light
Finally it’s the wedding night
Water filled in some eyes
Still hearts filled with delight

Finally it’s the wedding night
Pain of having distant sight
Still hearts filled with delight
As fulfillment of some wishes inside

Pain of having distant sight
Wishes within to have no plight
As fulfillment of some wishes inside
After all it’s a day once in life

Wishes within to have no plight
Water filled in some eyes
After all it’s a day once in life
Embellished with dazzling light…

~*~a Wedding~*~

A wedding is special, everyone says.
People dance while the music plays.
It’s a special moment, joining two hearts.
In sickness and in health, till death do they part
A wedding is a special day in there life.
Were a guy chooses a girl to be his wife.
My day will come soon, I'll be happy at last.
And all the old boyfriends will be in the past

Romance Novel

The setting was an exquisite and elegant palace,
Built like a fortress.

He had sent his carriage to bring her,
They had met across a crowded room.

She was a school master's daughter,
He had liked her immediately.

Her simple and direct manner impressed him,
She wore a simple dress of cotton.

With stylish fashion boots,
Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders.

Her eyes were dark and penetrating, soulful,
They sat and talked for hours.

As if they had always known another,
He reached over and kissed her hand gently.

They supped a delicious evening's meal,
The candlelight at the table revealed his handsome features.

He was a true gentleman,
Dressed in an elegantly tailored suit.

His hair was an uncommon length,
Complimenting his austere and friendly face.

His eyes were gentle and understanding,
That evening he had proposed marriage.

And she had willingly accepted,
Her parents were delighted.

Their wish for their daughter had come true,
The wedding was at the palace.

Dressed in a beautiful wedding gown of white lace,
The shy bride and her prince were about to be married in holy matrimony.

He in a handsome tailored suit,
Was to receive her at the palace gates.

Your carriage awaits,
Did they live happily ever after, I certainly hope they did.

Premium Member The Bouquet

It's a labor of love
Creating a wedding bouquet.
It has to be perfect
For her wedding day.

I've done this before
For my daughters, so dear,
But this is a new one
For the spring of the year.

She's been my best friend
Since we were both teens,
So this one is special,
I know what it means.

For her special day,
This I can do.
The bouquet will be lovely
In soft cream and blue.

It's a labor of love
Creating a wedding bouquet.
It has to be perfect
For her wedding day.
