Good times may not last.
Share thy wealth with tomorrow.
Youth provides for age.

Entry for John Freeman's Redneck Psalms 3rd place

Waste

Nature in it’s utmost,
has no wont of haste.
Time has little meaning,
and there is no waste.

One year or a million,
matters not at all,
everything that lives,
eventually will fall.

Ashes turn to ashes,
and dust goes back to dust.
All Flora and Fauna,
are building up the crust.

So death is there abetting,
something else to live.
Everything that breathes,
some day will die to give.

Yet in the few short years,
man on earth has faced.
Through the eyes of greed,
mismanages his waste.

He thinks he’s here forever,
even though the rivers die,
the soil is full of poison,
pollution fills the sky.

The earth will be a sewer,
and won’t support the curse,
that stole the pristine beauty,
that it was meant to nurse.

So nature in its wisdom,
will balance without haste,
and in five million years,
will manage its own waste.

Premium Member Such Is a Waste of Time

We live in a world of time
everything is controlled by the clock
always looking to see where it's at
engagements band meetings in its lock

Social media is not my scene at all
whatever it is Twitter, Instagram or Facebook
people wanting to tell all that they think
nothing is secret not even how we look

What do people want to know about me?
I'm a pretty boring kind of bloke
people are not really my favourite item
they would want instead a diet coke

But having said all that about me
suppose they are things I do too
that when I think about it are a waste
taking photo pics just to show a view

I love to write and receive emails
also, watch westerns from yesteryear
love being retired being just myself
dislike speaking verbally to avoid fear

Now these things latterly others wonder
what a waste of time they would be
but to me, they bring me peaceful content
just as meditating upon Calvary's tree

Work Limerick Seems a Shame To Waste It Posted Here

Santa had an helper called Heather
and 4 little elf manager helpers
She told them to be nice
and give lots of advice
so all us call takers work together .

There once was a call centre agent
who wanted a manager to help her .
No manager could be found
they had all gone to ground.
Its tough to get help for Heathers agents

There once was a boss called heather.
Who had 4 little team manager helpers .
She got them a stick.
And a big bull whip .
She even beat us with an old piece of leather .

Santa's little helper heather, once said
that all the tm could stay in bed.
All of us cheered
And cracked open the beers
It's not work today, we are having a party instead .

Don'T Waste Your Life

People use this earth like a facility

To generate felicity

Finding happiness in everything that's wrong

Like drinking, smoking and using a bong

But what's the point of this when your life is gone?

You could end up a murderer or a con

Acting like everything is fine when its actually upside down

Why don't you come to Jesus Christ, exchange your cross for a crown

Girls have modesty, don't wear a sleazy gown

Coz you might attract the wrong crowd

And that's not what love is about

Let the Word of God change you inside out

And may the Holy Spirit dispel all your fears and all your doubts

Waste of Time

Waste, time

If life is not a total waste of time,
perhaps we had a different other line,
back and forth a hundred thousand years,
with blood n death impaled by spears,
sometimes,

duty caused the crime,
if it's not a total waste of time?
resurrection, sometimes,
have some faith I’ll bung it in:(
oftimes,

borne again upon the wind,
another chance to help a friend,
or waste your life, in worthless sin,
but, on you I can depend!
Sometimes?

Is grey a seeming state of mind,
overcast has gray behind,
but then the sun comes out...
unwind...friend,
And suck some life back in!
sometimes.

feet never touching ground
refusing responsibility
for his destiny

a drifter
open to anything
a puppet

never occurring to him
he could

Cut and Paste With No Waste Horn Haiku

when we cut and paste
even if we made much haste
will not have any waste

when where what why who
we only needed a few
which we know will do

with eight different words
which will start with w

My other favorite word
which I will like is wonderful.

Can you imagine when we would
remove letter w from our alphabet.

we look with him here
pitiful and very sad

Premium Member Killing Time

what are you
a butcher
an assassin
are you kidding me

you nonchalantly
say you’re
just killing time

do you not see
it’s criminal
you’ll never come across
anything more valuable
than the precious
gift of time

E-Waste Poem

The children at night;
They cry,
For their loved ones are ill,
From the fumes our hunger produces.

They dream of a world for happiness,
Joy and imagination;
For many memories could be created
From this electronic wasteland.

Think of the things we could make;
Planes that fly.
Think of the things we could do;
Metal that talks.

Don't kill our home,
Our family, our hope,
For we can do many things
With this electronic wasteland.

A long time he has hung on
It's about time he gets the boot
The rest would be glad to see him gone
They'll team up to say good-bye to Newt

Did I Waste My Time

At first school was cool
Had to abide by one simple rule
Read and write
And never fight
Recite the alphabet
How easy can it get?
One plus one is two
A E I O U
Two times two is four
D O O R spells door
Maths was about addition and subtraction
Multiplication and division
Studied animals and apes
And all them shapes
Circles and triangles
Squares and rectangles
Pentagons, hexagons
Septagons, octagons
Nonagons and decagons
Then I grew a little and things got tough
The stuff got a bit rough
School became boring
Talk of junior-high bullying
I got scared and
The maths got weird
Areas and volumes
Cones and pyramids
Cords and sectors
Quantities and vectors
Pi r squared?
Half times base times height?
No way I’m getting these right
Positives and negatives
Radius and diameter
Areas, perimeters
Voltmeters and ammeters
More and more shapes
Rhombus, star and trapezium
Physics and chemistry
Lithium and helium
Biology and history
Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin,
And the famous wall of Berlin
I thought I was done
But things got less fun
I started to debit and credit
Economics and statistics
Differentiation and intergration
Poisson and normal distribution
Assignments, projects and dissertations
Now I’ve got the diplomas and degrees
But guess what
I’m just a poet
Now, tell me
Did I waste my time?

Premium Member Do Not Waste Your Time

Such a short time we are here before we say goodbye.
Time is never wasted it just flies.
As the years go by and time fades away,
Just like my pain and sorrow from yesterday.
Tomorrow comes and then again it goes like it did before.
I always pray for my ambition to develop into something more.
Sometimes I get lost inside my thoughts and dreams,
As I wake up I hope it is reality even though it’s impossible as it seems.
The moment of existence has no persistence, in time.
Remember time waits for no one so don’t get left behind.
So much time is wasted in things that have no worth,
Things that seem to take the place of what we know should be first.
Time is forever getting lost and it is invisible,
It has no enemies or friends, now that’s incredible.
There are so many lustful envies and ungrateful indecencies,
I believe that too much time make way for unwanted tragedies.
Our society has embraced violence that is excused by insanity.
I think this society should be judged by the lack of its humanity.
As the hands of time keep moving,
We people of this human race have to keep living and evolving.

Waste Not Want Not

Waste not want not.

Oh the rabbit went and died.
You should have seen us all.
The news was like a car,
smashed into a wall!

The feeling it was shock,
i felt like i would cry.
How could it be so,
that Thumper he would die!

I remembered at Pet City,
how hard the choice just was,
till we seen the Rabbit
with marks upon his paws!

The family just went "Awwh!"
We loved him oh so much.
So we took him home,
complete with brand new hutch.

It seems so long ago,
and yet it seems so near.
That we brought him home,
so small with such big ears!

I cant believe he"s gone.
We were left with excess food,
and there is an empty space,
where his hut once stood.

But Sunday Lunch was good,
a belly buster"Phew."
yes you are quite right,
we had a Rabbit stew!

and not only that,
our bad luck has been beat!
We"ve set the record straight,
with four new rabbits feet!

But the best bit of it all,
is Thumper was so fat!
That i have got to wear
a Davey Crocket hat!

It is like my Gran would say,
"You"ll be happy with your lot,
if you follow just four words,

Waste not want not!"

No rabbits were harmed in the making of this poem. Thumper is alive and well and
living at the bottom of my garden!
