Premium Member Amidst the Darkened Veils
'Neath umbra skies I seek a mirrored moment

the breeze a capricious charmer
blows serpentine sways to life
a ballet of tall switchgrass dancers
sweeping edges raspy green
dulling in the ever dimming light
their brassy symphony a soft cymbals’ siss
lure my thoughts to ramble a willowy maze
mesmerizing my mental landscape...

Premium Member Lifting Veils
In the dead of night veils uplift on Mid Summer's Eve,
still a time for a few live sacrifices, so tread warily.
A time when briefly the gates of hell can open
and unworldly things spew forth intent on evil.

Mid Summer Night dreams can come to...

Veils of Autumn Re-Visited - Contest
Writing different forms I find so hard to do
Yet I wrote a poem using the form dodoitsu

Wrote it with hope thought it was just fine
Liked by others, yet wasn’t placed this time.

I have re-read it since and in my mind it’s a star
the Veils of...

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Black Veils
Almost like wearing an eternal hat of shame
Black veils hide the blame
Shadowy onlookers dying to see under the opaque
Their eyes deepened in curiosity expecting some day the veil would break
Dawn never looked so dark before
Horizons under veiled eyes once more
Continuously blocking out your...

In a boundless night, I slip through the veils of undefined time,
where I glimpsed you as a star lost in an ocean of abyssal dreams,
in a silk delirium of shadows dancing ceaselessly,
where the golden horizon melts dreams into dawn, like fire melting brass.
With hands that...

Face Masks, Face Veils: Same Thing
https://youtu.be/c1gNm21YzfI

When last I visited India almost a decade ago
I recall riding on my brother's scooter
as he drove me around town,
And I saw fully veiled Muslim women
half their faces veiled, masked in Niqab
driving scooters, motorbikes, mopeds and motorcycles.
I also recall some women also covering...

Premium Member Darkness Veils My Eyes
Into the lake another pebble was tossed
Its ripples mar the tranquility of my life
Perhaps another kind friend, suddenly lost
to this daughter, mother, and twice a wife
Darkness veils my eyes, flowing with teary
waterfalls spilling, for I've grown so weary

Escape the world, according to Lin, not Garp
Poetry...

Premium Member In the veils of dusk, where whispers merge with shadows
In the veils of dusk, where whispers merge with shadows,
My dear lover, do not seek a soul like mine.
Seek someone more radiant, or a spirit akin to yours,
But not someone who bears the unseen shadows I keep hidden.
I do not wish to see their tears...

Thin Veils of Pretence
Pretence at sacrifice concealed in a translucent veil as inverted altruism soon comes unstuck as its perfidy wears thinner and thinner to engender amazement, bewilderment, embarrassment and bemusement.

Shunt aside gifts to the
ego you flatter day and
night to blight your own life....

Premium Member Dance of the Seven Veils
Like a whirling dervish rainbow of satin flowing veils
She floated across the dance floor, mesmerizing the room of males
Contorting and consorting with the grace of a gentle swan
Of many different colors, seven veils she did have on

The first to float upon mid air, uncovered a...

What Veils Me No Longer Avails Me
fold myself into the falling
files
of each row
of days
this neatly stacked
insignificance
the belligerence of common sense
casts it's shadow
break me open
& i will bleed the pages
of an order not my own
these thin sheets more rigid
than any branch they broke from
what lives here?
whose hallowed halls are these?
what veils me
no...

Black Veils and Mascara Stains
I heard an angel speak last night and he said “write”,
“Write of the anguish and pain,
The desolation, and isolation.
May the ink fall like blood,
Spill over the pages,
Making permanent marks,
Never to regain its flawless form again”

I walk down the foot-worn trail,
Bare feet turned black by the...

“We are the living light of Christ
Discern oh hermit, wrong from right”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Staid silence and stillness ushers stirrings
Unfettered awareness feels the caress
Soft enlivening magnetic humming
Ineffable ecstatic divine bliss
Our rapture continuum is innate
Spacial radiant heart the core centre
Joyous calm found there in stillness sedate
Wondrous heightened bliss...
Premium Member Dark Veils
She walks the halls to snuff out breath
 attired in her veil of death
 Soon, the morphine takes its toll
 As she steals their very soul
 They see her coming and lie in fear
 They know the kiss of death is near
 And then she...
