On the streets of lively Mumbai,
Close to the sandy Juhu,
They serve Chaat and Masala Chai,
To make your heart go Yoohooo!!
The English, Locals and Arabs!
Jews, Africans and Chinese!
Gather to the aroma of the herbs,
And to relish the Indian Cuisine!
Vending stalls have lined the route,
As the natives and tourists wander in,
Flanked by cycles, bikes and touts,
Amidst the music and the din.
This mela of colours and clothing,
Will make a rainbow look white,
travellers in town need updating,
And wear colours that are bright!
It is dusk, and it is getting dark,
the street lights are coming on,
Be warned of strangers in the park!
Hide your wallet, or they will be gone!
Watch the trash, the puddles at feet,
And the stray dogs at your shin,
At every shop a smiling greet,
“Try our food! Please step in!”
Unique, unique is this ensemble,
On the streets of sweet Mumbai,
Where petty human irks crumble,
In the stream of gastronomic joy!
See the Mexican laugh with the Texan,
Over the Goan seafood platter,
Even the Arab and Jew have taken,
A place at the table together!
The leaders at the United Nations,
Who have failed to make a deal,
Must learn from this congregation,
How problems are solved at a meal!
UN policies, treaties at the table,
Have had no effect on peace,
But sandy Juhu is ever so stable,
For people eat and mix with ease!
Let these vendors in Mumbai, Juhu,
Take the lead in creating the peace,
Let their Chai make you go Yoohoo,
And hatred in the world will cease!!
On the streets of lively Mumbai,
Close to the sandy Juhu,
They serve Chaat and Masala Chai,
To make your heart go Yoohooo!!
Voices Behind the Radio
I have chosen to be a dispatcher, working hard to save a life
It is our job to obtain the information from the chaos and the strife.
We do our best to get the location, and the nature of the call
Each call is always different. Sometime we cannot obtain it all.
A patient not breathing, a burglary, or a traffic accident could be the call
We ride the emotional roller coaster, remaining calm throughout it all.
We give instructions to the caller, while keeping them on the phone
Re-assuring help is on the way, and that they are not alone.
With the units enroute, caller still on the phone, we add notes to the call.
We never withhold information obtained, we gladly provide it all.
The Officer needs the address again, the Fire Chief more units to staging
The Medic the nature of the call, it is our job to keep updating.
When we hang up the phone we have done our job, our units are all Code-4
The calls can be overwhelming at times, Sometimes we would like to run out the door.
We have to be ready for that next call, Police, Fire, or EMS
We rely on our training as we strive to do our best.
We ride with you in your Police Cars, Fire Trucks, and Ambulances to each call
We are the lifeline that sends you out each time, and wants you safe throughout it all.
We are usually the face of the department, and the first to be left out
Those faceless voices behind the radio, you depend on without a doubt.

A slave to technology I am
They always tell me what to do
Today I started up my car
It told me when the next service was due
As for my blooming laptop
It nearly always keeps me waiting
Every time I use this beast
It always say's that it's updating
My mobile phone is so demanding
I go to switch it on
Then I find I have lost the bloody charger
Can't find find out where it has gone
Yes everything's technology
And this I must accept
I always do the best I can
But I am out of my depth
It seems the kids, they know it all
So, I ask them to help me
Makes me feel like such a fool
But I guess that's how thing's be

Written after re-reading the fable ‘the tortoise and the hare’ … I thought I would give the story a little updating!
A racehorse and an old donkey challenged one another to a race
‘I’m sure to win’ said the racehorse with a smirk upon her face
She said ‘Don’t bother lining up you stupid little ass
You should stay in the pasture, munching on the grass’
The old donkey gave the racehorse a knowing look
She’d met her sort before – one day she’ll write a book
They lined up at the starting line; the starter read some rules
The racehorse just ignored them saying ‘rules are just for fools’
So the racehorse shot off like a bullet being fired from a gun
Determined to win the race she thought she’d have some fun
Dashing far ahead of donkey she’d soon reach the winner’s sign
Donkey was trotting slowly; she was lagging so very far behind
Racehorse was so far in front she was convinced she’d win the race
But if she’d listened to all the rules she wouldn’t soon fall from grace
For the starter said that the last one past the post who would be the winner
So donkey stopped to munch some grass, as she wanted to eat some dinner
When donkey finally passed the finishing line she was really happy
Racehorse was crestfallen to lose the race, and she got very snappy
The moral of this story is first past the post doesn’t always win
And if you are a sore loser you’ll just have to take it on the chin!

Come home from work
See my girlfriend crying
She can’t get on face book
And whole day she trying
Well I try to fix the computer
To get she on the internet
The girl cries so much
Two handkerchiefs soaking wet
What’s up with face book?
Sending this girl crazy
Chatting with Amanda whole day
And now she gets so lazy
So I call her mother
To complain bout she daughter
She said she call back later
Julie on the computer
So went to her father
And said she don’t cook no more
She on face book since morning
Till I come home at four
He call me out side
He hiding from his wife
He said leave face book alone
That is part of them women’s life
The stove not light for the day
All it has is bread and cheese
She says darling I’m hungry
Go order some Chinese
This face book and women
Is a bad combination
It causing problems in homes
All across the nation
A woman updating she profile
From almost all about
When she quarrel with her husband
She leaving that part out
hannah taking out pix for face book
She runs out of lipstick
She takes two buses and a taxi
Telling the driver to do quick
So I call president Obama
Tell him face book causing hell
He said boy shut your mouth
He wants no problem from Michelle
Now face book is OK
To meet family old and new
But do people have to post
Every little thing they do
A man post he on vacation
On the beach in Tobago
While he home in couva
But nobody don’t know
I try to organize some friends
To protest against face book
When I gone them on the computer
These men already hook
So I have to stay quiet
Because my girlfriend very sweet
I pick up the phone and said
Darling what you want to eat
Leather, rubber, PVC
Synched waists, stiletto heels
Chicken cutlets shoved in bras
Body stocking, pantyhose
Sitting around, TV on
Laptops open
Googling...
Waiting
For a sleaze bag
To book a session
Half hour, maybe more
Fingers crossed
The bell rings
Door’s buzzed open
Short, fat, ugly, hairy, thing
You would think he was Brad Pit
The hussy's hover like flies
His cash burns a hole
‘I want to talk to her…
And her’
All of them Yes Girls
‘I’d love that, Sir!’
‘Are you a bad girl?’
‘Oh yes, Sir, absolutely!’
Slim blond, flavor of the month
Big breast, slim waist, round bum
All boxes ticked
He gets a rush
Deal struck
Half an hour
Over the knee
No wood
He pays in cash
Then leads the way
Into a mock school room
CLICK, doors secure
Hands tied behind back
Ankles roped together
Thrown over his lap
Punishment begins
He slaps with much gusto
Dying to see crimson,
Speckles and welts
And sweet cherry tears
‘You’ve been a very bad girl,
You need be punished’
He whacks her with a paddle
She sees bolts of lightning
‘Please, Sir, I don’t…’
‘You do as I say!’
He beat her much harder
“Please, Sir!’
‘Can you have another?
Sure, that’s what I’m here for’
‘It’s not what I agreed to’
‘Well that’s just tough ****.’
‘Now be a smart girl
And listen very carefully
Do exactly as I tell you
And you’ll be okay
‘Open up…wider
Pop this gag in your mouth
Bite down it will help
See how I care?’
She knows not to argue
Struggle equals pain
With the ease of a stealth bomber
Her mind exits backstage
He has a jolly old time
Bombs over Bagdad
An onslaught of slaps
Wood, hand and yardstick
The intercom buzzes
‘Sir, your 30 is up’
‘Thank you, I’m finished’
He works to untie her
‘Here’s a tip, for your markings’
She smiles and says thank you
Truth be told
She has a penchant for pain
Back in the waiting room
She sits on the sofa
The fire from her backside
Warms up her soul
She opens Facebook
Updating her status:
“Interesting day @ the dungeon,
I really heart my job!”
How often do you spend time alone?
Time with Eternal God?
Any time resting at all?
Jesus or Father Christ offers wisdom
To His disciples
On the importance of taking care of themselves
He knows that if we aren’t taking care of ourselves
We will be of no help to anyone else
Wonder what Jesus or Father Christ thinks about over crowded schedules
Our lack of sleep or rushing
Or lack of prayer
Our obsession with cell phones or social media
We are rarely alone
Even if we are
We are updating, tweeting or texting
We have forgotten that it is essential to disconnect
If we want to truly connect
We were created to need rest and refreshment
That is why on the 7th day Eternal God rested
He wanted us to know, it was not only acceptable
It was advisable
Take time this week to be alone
Take time to be with Eternal God at Church
Take time to rest
Superman is--
'faster than a speeding bullet'
'more powerful than a locomotive'
'able to leap tall buildings at a single bound'
~ How about updating these a bit?
Twenty one seven! Beware of this year!
The numbers themselves should strike you with fear
With global warming sea levels will rise
Big brother is watching and plainly disguised
Bird flu is spreading - a nasty disease
The rainforest will lose over half of its trees
A batch of new leaders will run all amok
Alliances shifting to change trading blocs
The rabble is moaning and causing dissent
The coffers are empty the money's all spent
Everyone's cheating at sports for the gold
More war greater good - or so we are told
Please listen - take care - this prophet of doom
Nothing looks hopeful - it's all evil gloom
If you finish the year then get an old pen
Change seven to eight and read this again
Written some time ago - can't remember when - keep updating it each year! :-)
Oh, to be an immortal immortal
to be remembered
revered, quoted, honored
in the caverns of my cohorts.
To bear no scars
from the slings and arrows
of outrageous fortune
nor fear of the picture
of Dorian Gray.
My hair will be occasionally
In - and out -of fashion
my credentials oft challenged
and in need of updating.
My wives will all leave me
my children fade before my eyes
as I weep “immortal” tears
for endless aging
does not temper pain
nor quell the rage
of now.

Darling what you want to eat
Once turning 18 on my birthday i booked and took my driving test
and thankfully i passed 1st time
Because failing comes at a cost
of another test followed by more
lessons
So since that day when i was granted my driving license and deemed legal then to drive and own a car
And every day and year since for
this privilege i have had to pay
road tax, insurance, fuel duty,
m.o.t and updating my license
Likewise in order to own a t.v
on a yearly basis i was forced
to buy a t.v license for the privilege
And when i got a pet dog for
Christmas so to i was forced
to get a licence him and myself
as an owner as well
And when i wished to become
an organ donor again i had to
apply for a licence
The only thing no one ever seemed
to need a licence for was the most
valid of them all a licence to become
a parent or a father
So what value of licensing and taxes
I passed my driving test got my
license and pay all the taxes that
entails.
And yet i drive on roads so full
of potholes my car is more often
in the garage than working
And though i am forced to pay
my t.v license everything is a
repeat and has nothing on it
to watch
And why i have to annually pay
to license my pet dog only
they can justify but do not feel
the need to
Or why i need a licence and it
is not compulsory to become
an organ donor
But i suppose the reason for
no one needing a licence to
have children is
Maybe it's because they are indeed
the future licenses and tax payers in
waiting
The praises of goddesses Juno and Venus have been confirmed
from the traffic causing attraction of your shape
such countenance which can make night overlap the day;
updating the perception of beauty for it to turn inside out
is a true reflection of my unthinkable fortune.
The smooth self seductive line which is in between those fleshy monuments
and the spread of its huge fences to widen its width
wirelessly command hormonal rush to get me executed
through the slaughter of its erotic blasts.
A freak is created, anytime its surrounding squeezable mountains
are well camped by my needy hands and lips.
Such a line, so hypnotizing and domineering
is a channel of sexual irrigation with two lovely inlets,
an upper small protective and a lower large inviting.
I give prreference to the invitation
which has an incredibly wet reception
because that is where my intimacy with you is constantly refined
taking our physical contact to a supernatural satisfaction.
Navigating through the recesses
Of my mind, thoughts appear
Out of nowhere like detour signs
Set out in cartoon chases; then, I realize
My pop-up blocker needs updating.
