From the moment I feel that spark
in the palm of your hand and let it
run over the bone of my hip, I am placed in a
euphoria that drags along with me for months and
years.
It keeps me awake at night and clouds my focus
during the conference calls, bathroom breaks, and
monotonous drives home. It puts me to sleep as I stand
over the boiling pot of spinning webs.
I can feel every stroke of your finger across my face, my thoughts of it. I am
trapped in my memory and longing for the silence of water
falling from the shower head as I drink you in over and over.
It makes my heart flutter and pound and fumble to catch its breath. It makes my mind start and stop
and sputter like a Chrysler with no battery. I hold it quietly around my middle, to protect me from the
emptiness of acceptance.
This is a dirty trick of an imbalanced mind. It is not the very real experience and longing that I try to
compress with this very unhelpful, old washcloth.

your daddy's dimples when you smile
or your mama's almond shaped eyes
While others were unfortunate
like your grandma's testy temper
or your uncle Earl's ears
But not all of these
hand-me-downs
are permanent
Some you will hopefully
change out of and
replace as you get older...
Like others' unhealthy attitudes
unhelpful coping mechanisms
uneducated assumptions
about other people
or the world at large
Your perspective
how you choose to see the world
is as changeable as a pair
of cheap sunglasses
so if they ever
hinder your view- toss them out!
And get some new
glasses that fully fit
in a style that expresses
the person you truly want to
become

Bothersome boats of pickles can sail away with their self inflated ideology. Whilst free-falling atoms can give a lovely fragrance at any time of the year. And supernatural oddities are as comforting as a fur cape in a cave. Biscuit faced men are really quite demonic. And often stare with glazed eyes after mixing with a great deal of sugar. Whilst bouncing knees resemble a craving for consumption of rye coloured cakes. Often rye colours are located in lavatories or luxurious vehicles. How marvellously enchanting the aromatic vision of a small quantity of pin people. Once placed never removed. Wounding not. But standing ground. Akin to ancient sites on scrolls. For their job that does the future sketch,

Openly praise I do Meteorology,
Just as we freely, Theology,
For our aeroplanes’ safe schedules,
And avoided typhoons, in their own right, needless.
Bad weather: a reason to evacuate a zone,
Biting cold dying to visit the bone,
Our bodies in voluminous coats conceal,
This done to shivers heal.
On the feet of an underdog drops victory,
A world-rated team packaging her defeat,
All the wind-aided records of history,
The shoddy from champions one could never beat,
In an unaccustomed weather playing,
And from success track straying.
Bad weather: a sad news for outdoor activities,
In the face staring festivities,
Every young day wearing a stormy countenance,
A prelude to hurrying priests of eminence,
In the interception of rainfall versed,
Never failing to reproduce the rehearsed.

How can I unlock,
All I hear is the clock,

Thoughts race inside me, progress is very slow
I grow weary from the effort, precious little to show
I’m lost in a desert, or perhaps all at sea
Is there any difference, my page remains ink free.
Damn this writers block,
No key can unlock,

Been up too long, it's way too late..
The clock is reading half past two,
But i can't sleep, not without you...
But even lonely ones must sleep..
So I begin to count the sheep..
They jump and fall, but never end..
So much for that unhelpful trend.
But finally, my dreams are calling,
The sheep still jump, but have ceased falling,
And when it seems i'm flying too..
My phone explodes and thank God it's you..
Its nothing special, just a short little message,
But it seems to clear up all the wreckage..
"Goodnight Austin, you know that i love you"

I am in need of the wanting, for progression of the understanding.

In times of need you are the one I have opened up to,
searching through the skies and past the stars.
Asked so many questions and painted you my world,
the world you placed me in, to suffice.
Your moment of silence, rare to this world like a forgotten second,
making me wait for a new beginning,
when reality is I am just staring into space with no knowledge of belonging.
So my dreams are becoming.
Once again in need of knowing why,
