Counting Sheep

Tonight i'm feeling...not so great,
Been up too long, it's way too late..
The clock is reading half past two,
But i can't sleep, not without you...

But even lonely ones must sleep..
So I begin to count the sheep..
They jump and fall, but never end..
So much for that unhelpful trend.

But finally, my dreams are calling,
The sheep still jump, but have ceased falling,
And when it seems i'm flying too..
My phone explodes and thank God it's you..

Its nothing special, just a short little message,
But it seems to clear up all the wreckage..
"Goodnight Austin, you know that i love you"
"Goodnight sweet angel, i love you too..."

Nice work Austin and Welcome to Poetry Soup. The poem is great, if you could omit the word 'not' on line 4 and the word 'and' on line 12 it would help the poem. The extra syllables choke the flow. Just a thought...Raul
