I can't forget those days when you were mine.
How young we were - not even at our prime!
Had we held on, could love have grown divine?
If only we could turn back the hands of time.

What could have been? I guess we'll never know.
Although I've never been caught in a crime,
a crime it was that day I let you go!
If only we could turn back the hands of time.

While drowning in my memories of you,
I sit in silence while I write this rhyme
and wonder if you think the same thing too -
if only we could turn back the hands of time!

I've courted luck, in countless ways
Against the ragged judgments and self-umbrage
I still draw breath, and the mirror has been charitable
Most I meet deem me forty, (I don't challenge)

My visage betrays very little of the darkness and damage within
Oh, it will one day chase me down, no doubt soon enough
But I feign my teens in bearing also, and perhaps 'tis a lack of maturity
I make no false assumptions of grandeur or wisdom

My child's heart thrives and bounds, a lad seeking truths yet proven
It yearns, still, for a soft meadow's callow passions
Or the blossom beams of a summer moon, daubing sweet skin
I hold no kinship to middle-age or frosted brows

'Tis a young man's mad marrow that moves my flesh
The ambitious vigor of a yearning heart that thrums my chest
There is NOTHING of my age but the years themselves
And the altered perspective of being nearer dusk than dawn

My eyes look abaft now more than onward, I must concede that
And all the myriad priorities of gain and dream and want
Have dissolved into the one meaningful prerogative of life itself
The only TRUE worthwhile endeavor that should be the foundation

The solid base that we learn and treasure and build upon from childhood
The ONLY thing that I've come, through all these years
Through all these countless lessons and struggles, to care about ...
That is, quite simply and purely and unmistakably, LOVE.

An island I have become, in the shadows of darkness,
and the boundless ocean waves of salty tears of starkness.
High overhead all moving about, thousands and millions,
a plafond of stars looks down upon me with its brilliance.

If only we could turn back the hands of time,  a pinch or wink;
my heart half full would ink a path through nature's acres to drink
the irreplaceable moments I once had under a lace
canopy of overhanging leaves and gaze upon your face.

In the morning light, I would embrace your soul, and steal a kiss.
We'd bath in years of rapturous tears; fountain of endless bliss.
If only we could turn back the hands of time, snatch back the past,
my heart bulging with yearning hope would ink a path that would last.

I can’t get behind the wheel, I’m disqualified
So I’m on the early morning train ride to the city
There are so many commuters, I join the throng
Down the street as I was drifting with the city's human tide.

We are packed like sardines crushed side by side
Makes me wish I’d never driven when blind drunk
It’s many years before I can get my licence back
Now I rely on trains or friends or take a taxi ride

I wish I could drive my car, that can’t be denied
But I got caught and ended up before the judge
Got banned from driving, I had to pay a huge fine
I’ve lost my good character; and my sense of pride

I began drinking heavily when my dear wife died
It spiraled out of control but I don’t deserve any pity
As being four times over the limit cannot be justified

Turn Back

On the inside, I’m imploding at a slow and painful rate. If only people could understand my pain, understand my thoughts, understand why I am the way I am. Maybe no one will ever understand. Maybe no one will ever care to try. I try to stay true to God, I do the best I can. I feel terrible because I’m probably not true enough for God’s expectations. I wish I could get a reset on life, every mistake I made rewind so I can fix it. Every trauma I experienced rewind so I can attempt to stop it. Like Bon Jovi, I wish I had the power to turn back time.

Turn Back Time

Imagine being told as a little girl that you are ugly, you are stupid, and that you are a four eyed little freak.
I still hear those words in my mind as the days go by in my life.
Those words can crush a little girls dreams and hopes.
Being on a big yellow school bus,
nowhere to hide and nowhere to run,
Your glasses ripped off your face tossed around like a football. Than there broken in half and thrown back.
You have very little money,
So fixing them was with tap and crazy glue.
Only to have it happen again day after day.
I have suffered so as the years have gone by,
Not knowing if I can trust anyone that comes along.
I thought I could get over it all,
but as I get older the trust is not there.
How I wish I could turn back time,
and fight for what was right.
Stop them on sight,
carry my head up high.
Not to be scared to live life and be afraid that being bullied would follow me for all eternity.
How I wish I could turn back time and stop the bullying before it was begun.

If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time

IF I COULD TURN BACK THE HANDS OF TIME....

If I could turn back the hands of time,
To sight of green grass and colourful flowers nod together,
In warm, quiet and friendly whisper in the midday breeze,
The language I could clearly treasure and understand,
Under the verdant branches in the veldt where I used to play.

If I could turn back the hands of time,
To melancholy songs of the cuckoo birds,
To the bees murmuring, small birds chanting merrily,
To the sounds of water in raging rivers and streams,
And the heavy pattering rain on the zinc roof.

If I could turn back the hands of time,
To smells of steaks and chips in the passageways,
Delightful odours of plants so sweet and strong,
To home brewed beers in the over-brimming glasses,
And the golden apple green as the fridge swings open.

If I could turn back the hands of time,
And feel warm heater air caressing me in winter,
The soft touch of aircon in the sweltering atmosphere,
Sweet taste of coffee and cold drinks to relieve fatigue as the sun breaks,
That made me dream of the events before tomorrow!

I used to stretch my hands, dressed myself and went where I wanted,
But now , with my joints all aching, senses fading and eyes gradually growing dim,
I stretch out my hands and somebody dresses me up,
And leads me to where I do not want to go,
Yes, I cannot turn back the hands of time now!

Turn Back To God

We must turn back to God
As a nation declare His praise
Put our trust in Jesus
To Him a banner raise.

Our nation is so divided in faith
Its falling apart within
We must turn back to God again
Repent of all our sin.

Lets learn to fear our God again
And honour Him in this land
Declare that Jesus is the Lord
And in His name lets stand.

So forgive us Lord our nation
Pour out Your Spirit again
Turn our hearts Lord back to You
I ask in Jesus name.

Too Late To Turn Back Now

That song’s been ringing in my head
For almost half the day….
It’s too late to turn back now.
I believe, I believe, I believe,
I’ve fallen in love with you,
And I have no clue why or
Even how?

It’s too late to turn back now.
I believe, I believe, I believe,
I’ve fallen in love and memories
Of us being together I continue to chow
It makes no sense at all
You and I have not made one vow
I love you but I don’t like you
All because you don’t live the life that’s true.

It’s too late to turn back now.
I believe, I believe, I believe,
I’ve fallen in love: I’ve had no
Real man to ever treat me right
You had a chance for me you did not fight
So why from you could I not fly away as
High as a kite. Every day you call me to
See if someone else is with me. Late night
Calls, early morning calls, noon day calls,
All types of calls but the call you have ringing
To your phone you have not answered at all.

It’s too late to turn back now.
I believe, I believe, I believe,
I’ve fallen in love. That’s all.
He calls. I call. I don’t answer.
He doesn’t either. The feeling is not weaker.
It is stronger and no matter how much time,
We wanted this to be: it has lasted longer.

To everything, turn, turn, turn
There is a season, turn, turn, turn
A time to be loved is now. No
Matter how much I hate. This situation,
Is destiny way past fate. Three days to
The rest of our lives is here whether we
Are angry or filled with cheer. The season
For our love is here.

It’s too late to apologize.
It’s too late.
Yes, yes, we played around and
Got stuck with each other for life.
For every action a cost must be paid
Love was never intended in this it
Came in and stayed while we played.

Well the thrill is not gone
We can play like it is all we want
But all I can hear ringing in my ears
This song that I really don’t want to hear
It’s too late to turn back now.
I believe, I believe, I believe,
I’ve fallen in love, wow!

Turn Back the Clock

Turn Back The Clock

Six months have now passed since I learned of your death
Still grapple with the reality that you no longer draw breath

Taking your own life left me feeling bewildered and shocked
If I could make a Genie's wish this is one reality I like blocked

Hanging yourself at just forty four with so much soul to give
If only I could turn back the clock and make you want to live

You kept many secrets from me , sadly depression was one
I know if I knew there was probably nothing I could have done

It explains so much, the lies, the absences and why you drank
Holding tightly to your secret instead of being morally frank

Whenever you saw me, you hug me so tight and tell me you loved me
Bursting into tears at grocery store realizing you again I would never see

I miss your emails sent monthly with heartwarming pictures attached
Pleading with me to give us another chance if I ever became unattached

Ironically I learned of your death six days after breaking off with other guy
Lives hand dealt swiftly and harshly as from heaven I'm sure you seen me cry

So many incredible happy memories of you I hold dearly in my heart
I feel you around me, you're with me in spirit even though we are apart

I hope your now at peace and happy that Kim and I are chums
Please be our guardian angel and protect us until our time comes

Turn back, back, the pages of time, the tattered pages,
Lay open the story of my life, all the sadness and sorrow;
I see the little girl that was me, alone, in the school yard,
So different, so shy, and withdrawn in a secret place within.

The pain in my eyes could shatter glass, it was hard to look at,
I spent most of the time behind my hair, my long raven hair;
Speaking is something I did rarely, but mother understood me,
No words were needed as she stroked my hair and kissed me.

I felt so safe in her arms and there are days now, I long for her,
Because often I still feel like that girl in the school yard, laughed at;
Bullied and teased, mean things said are like daggers to the soul,
Why God do people have to be so cruel, can you tell me God.

I have been through so much, deaths and deaths, for one so young,
My heart is fragile and easily broken, but I found a treasure, a gift;
The gift of writing, it is my salvation, for I can let go and write the pain,
With my bleeding pen, the words flow and flow, the paper dredged.

Dredged, soaking, wet with blood and tears, God, can you not stop them,
Have I not suffered enough, I visit my babies at their tomb, my husband;
My beloved parents, sister, gran all down a winding road, names engraved.
All I seek is tranquility, perhaps it is time to withdraw again.

If I Could Turn Back Time

If I could turn back time...
My life would be different
Completely and utterly
Another dimension
My parents, at this very moment,
Would only be friends.
A friend of a friend.
My dad would be alive with me.

If I could turn back time...
What a commonly used phrase.
What if you truly could?
Would you?
Is it worth the change?
Clearly, we all have those moments,
But is the life you’ve lived worth altering?
YES

If I could turn back time…
Me,
Little ‘ole me,
My life would restart at age 2.
My plan, it would begin in July,
In my crib,
Where I would cause a ruckus,
And Daddy wouldn’t leave his little girl that day.

If I could turn back time...
My plan would work I’m sure of it!
He would still be here
With me.
He would!
And we’d be happy in Miami.
And I’d still be enrolled in my old K-12 school,
And I would be happy.

If I could turn back time…
And I follow my plan
My brother wouldn’t exist,
And my school would not be EHS,
And I wouldn’t know anyone I know now,
And my house wouldn’t be located in Hollywood,
And I wouldn’t know Jesus as my Lord and Savior,
And I don’t think I’d be very happy.

If I could turn back time…
I would!
Just to see my dad!
Just to say goodbye...?
Just to say hello...?
Just to ask him to at least stay the night?
And every night after?
But would I be happy?

If I could turn back time…
Hmm, let’s think:
I wouldn’t know my best friends.
I wouldn’t know my amazing brother.
I wouldn’t be here.
I would be there.
And I would be… who knows…?
But who cares?!
Cause if I turn back time…
I’d screw up all I’ve gotten
And worked so hard to get
These last 15 years!!!!

I Will Never Turn Back

I'm coming back to thy holy home,
I have laid down my lugage of loss,
Never again will I retire, run or roam;
I now cling to Christ's convenant and cross.

I have laid down my lugage of loss,
God's holy hands holds my humble heart,
I now cling to Christ's convenant and cross,
singing solemn songs... a sincere journey starts.

Gold's holy hands holds my humble heart,
I'll never turn back, bend or bow to sin,
singing solemn songs ...a sincere journey starts,
now I woo wisdom and wealth from within.

I'll never turn back, bend or bow to sin,
never again will I retire, run or roam;
now I woo wisdom and wealth from within,
I'm coming back to thy holy home.

Can We Turn Back the Time

(female verse 1)
staring up at the darkened sky, stars come out lighting it up so bright
who knew I’d be standing here alone
after all we had now you’re gone
You took my heart when you fled
now I’m broken and empty, you left me in shreds
why did you choose to go
guess that’s the answer I’ll never know

(male verse 2)
staring up at your darkened eye, scars come out cutting it up so tight
who knew I’d be standing here alone
after all went bad now you’ve won
You tore me apart with words you said
now I’m broken and empty, you left me for dead
why did you choose to go
guess that’s the answer we’ll never know

(chorus duet)
Our love will last longer, together we’re stronger
We can turn back the time, and change the past
(Her) Can we turn back the time, (Him) Can we turn back the time
(Her) Can we turn back the time, (Him) Can we turn back the time

(verse 3)
(Her) Staring out at the sparkling sky, stars come out to our heart’s delight
(duet) Who knew we’d be standing together
we have a love that lasts forever
(Him) You fill me up with love in my heart
your hand in mine never far apart
(duet) that’s why I choose you
love is the answer we’ll always know

(chorus duet)
Our love will last longer, together we're stronger
We can turn back the time and change the past
(Her) Can we turn back the time, (Him) Can we turn back the time
(Her) Can we turn back the time, (Him) Can we turn back the time
(duet) Our love will last longer, together we’re stronger
(Her) Can we turn back the time, (Him) Can we turn back the time x4
