If I Could Turn Back Time
If I could turn back time...
My life would be different
Completely and utterly
Another dimension
My parents, at this very moment,
Would only be friends.
A friend of a friend.
My dad would be alive with me.
If I could turn back time...
What a commonly used phrase.
What if you truly could?
Would you?
Is it worth the change?
Clearly, we all have those moments,
But is the life you’ve lived worth altering?
YES
If I could turn back time…
Me,
Little ‘ole me,
My life would restart at age 2.
My plan, it would begin in July,
In my crib,
Where I would cause a ruckus,
And Daddy wouldn’t leave his little girl that day.
If I could turn back time...
My plan would work I’m sure of it!
He would still be here
With me.
He would!
And we’d be happy in Miami.
And I’d still be enrolled in my old K-12 school,
And I would be happy.
If I could turn back time…
And I follow my plan
My brother wouldn’t exist,
And my school would not be EHS,
And I wouldn’t know anyone I know now,
And my house wouldn’t be located in Hollywood,
And I wouldn’t know Jesus as my Lord and Savior,
And I don’t think I’d be very happy.
If I could turn back time…
I would!
Just to see my dad!
Just to say goodbye...?
Just to say hello...?
Just to ask him to at least stay the night?
And every night after?
But would I be happy?
If I could turn back time…
Hmm, let’s think:
I wouldn’t know my best friends.
I wouldn’t know my amazing brother.
I wouldn’t be here.
I would be there.
And I would be… who knows…?
But who cares?!
Cause if I turn back time…
I’d screw up all I’ve gotten
And worked so hard to get
These last 15 years!!!!
