Shining brightly flashes of white light
into spectral colours sparkle inwardly

Atoms arranged within a crystal structure domed
a gemstone takes shape measured from the clarity of beauty

Within diamond ultraviolet wavelengths transmit visible
jewel jubilantly crowned regally royal gift

Treasured Moments

Treasure every moment
Every little thing
Every sight you see
Every word you sing
Because
One day
Hopefully
Far away
It will be
Just a memory
To recall
And re-see

Treasure every beautiful thing
Every bird in the tree
Every flower in bloom
Every joy you see
Because
You might
One day
Loose sight
And then that
Memory
So important
It will be

Our Treasured Friendship

My dearest friend, I tip my hat to you
For all the wonderful things you do
I give you a thankful nod of my head
For the encouraging things you've said
When I feel that I might be drowning
You chase away my reason for frowning
When life is dark, and I need a guiding light
You smile at me and my world glows bright
When my heart was shattered and broken
You healed it with words, softly spoken
Then somehow you made me clearly see
That life has so much more to offer me
When you wiped away each sorrowful tear
My misery always seemed to disappear
You have a way of easing my suffering
By insolating my heart with gentle buffering
When clouds above me start turning grey
You take a deep breath and blow them away
And in those times I've been under attack
You rescued me; always guarding my back
You're more beautiful than any rainbow
You're no fair weather friend, that I know
You are the honey bee within my flower
Sweetening me when I suddenly turn sour
~ ~ ~
For your love, compassion and so much more
I must tell you, in case I've not said it before
You are treasured more than any work of art
Our friendship is carved deep within my heart

Inside the oceans current channelling energy begins
combing deep sands awakening feelings soar high

Within a deep fountain appearing dressed in liquid light
brighter than the sun your brilliance shines straight through

Crown of awareness to see into the heart
where there is no in between geography

Supreme bliss enters cosmic universal powers
timeless living visions in a precious gift wrapped soul

The reflection says
you've outgrown us

I somehow feel sad –

That which we once had
has become redundant

The other side of the coin
says I should be happy
‘Cause you've found that inner power,
the ability to go out on your own

and yet letting go
   is like losing
a part of me

that object that I’ve grown
accustomed too –

So I’ll be a bit teary
even feel a bit used
but I’ll always be grateful

no one knew the role you played
sometimes not knowing
is a treasured commodity

As the morning sun
smiles warmly with colour
upon you my love

It's all around embraced within a circle
kissing each and every single breath
inside jumping heartbeats pop

A moonbeam enters softly embraced
your the light of destiny kissed
beautiful rose shining gold gift wrapped

Amazing with the dewdrops
your sparkle dwells in the heart
guiding this soul lovingly home

I can see heaven in your eyes
where chocolate melts like carmel
into heartbeats golden honeycombed

unrhymed tercets

Premium Member Treasured Memoirs

Decades crossed our paths with treasured memoirs, with laughter - tears - thrown to heavenly stars.
Together we shared inner thoughts - feelings... we alone had binding - lasting dealings.

We know not when our lives will end or part, but always know we share love of the heart.
Woven together with family ties - tethered, handled in interest and never weathered.

Jointly we have supported inner strives, held each other closer throughout our lives.
Wiped away incessant tears pouring down, knowing assuredly we would be around.

Blood of same runs deep through each flowing vein, forming bond between sisters - proper and plain.
No time or tragedy can separate, not even through existence’s final fate.

As we grow and learn from our chosen course, I have learned to accept - have no remorse.
Although in miles we live so far away, in my poignant heart you forever stay.

I know for certain we will meet again, lacking all heartaches and enormous pain.
Will I know you, oh yes indeed I will, you will be the sister - from Fayetteville.

My children, oh...I love them so
So much...more than they might know
Know matter their twist or their turn
Turn the page...for they will learn
Learn my love, for they all have
Have held forever in my heart; treasured
Treasured forever, dearly...are all my children

Premium Member A Box of Treasured Memories

Keepsakes are memories beyond measure.
I keep them in a box; each one a treasure.
                                                            ~ by poet

It had been quite a while since I've thought
about the box I've filled with many keepsakes,
but today I had a memory that touched my heart.
opened the box, hands trembling with the shakes.

I'd wiped the dusty lid before peaking inside
at the collection of things, I've kept for many years.
The last time I'd opened it; a loved one had died.
The rose petals dried, but on that day, I'd shed tears.

There's a broken emerald pendant, a gift from my Dad.
Melancholy reminders of family... these treasures I hold.
Yes, some of them touch my emotions and make me sad,
others fill me with love when I've the need to be consoled.

I've saved old love letters and poems that I can truly say
are written words of endearments I'd never want to forget.
Photos of family members before their hair turned gray...
reminders of happy times when life had no stress or regret.

These sentimental items are my links to days long past.
Losing any of them would be like losing a piece of my heart.
Mementoes that I cherish... memories meant to last,
kept safe In this dusty box until from life I must depart.

Premium Member Treasured Jewelry

I have her nineteen fifties' Trifari
fine costume jewelry, which I hold dear,
since my sweet mom bequeathed it all to me;
when worn or touched, I feel her presence near.

The ritzy, sparkling rhinestone matching sets
showcased in satin-lined, faux leather case,
were treasured as high fashion; no regrets
when given as a gift of style and grace.

And too, are pearls embedded in bright gold
with settings of such intricate design.
I love to look at them, to fondle, hold
these precious pieces treasured now as mine.

I wear my mother's gems from time to time
and feel her basking in the lovely glow
that once adorned her beauty in its prime
and graced her loveliness in stylish show.

So I devotedly take tender care
     of these Trifari gifts passed on to me;
her treasures shine with special love we share,
     safeguarded through her cherished jewelry.

Love is not jealous, condescending,
spiteful or malicious -

love is not ownership painful or
always rightful.
it does not scream, or burn or hurt,
Nor does it bellow disgraceful
words.
it is curious , it is wonder, it is a
kiss that brings thunder.
It is all things beautiful and full of
wonder-
it is a word not yet been invented,
as no words can grasp it's full
meaning.
Love has no boundaries-
Nor will it founder by a few coarse
words
Or foul In bad weather.

Love speaks no ill-
It is a void filled.
it speaks no haste
Nor care for popular taste.
Patience is one virtue
Love always speaks true

impossible to measure -
Love can be clever and should
forever be treasured.
But never cruel, not ever

Treasured Memories

A day trip to the seaside
With all our family
We go there in the summer time
To paddle in the sea.

We play some games on the beach
Our children running wild
It brings back lots of memories
When we were just a child.

Our children are so happy
They are having lots of fun
I think they are getting tired now
Playing in the sun.

We make our way back off the beach
To buy a big ice cream
This day trip to the seaside
Has really been a dream

On our way back home we go
Treasured memories we will keep
Our children are all worn out
Ah look they're fast asleep.
