Best Thinking Ahead Poems

There For You

There for you

Always my love it shall rest on your shoulders
Even when clouds fill the sky
Holding you tightly for now and forever
Drying each tear you may cry

Keeping you safe as a light in the darkness
Holding your hand as you go
Wearing a smile, helping you to be happy
When any sadness may show

Sharing your dreams as we watch them together
Soothing your every pain
Offered affection to last you eternal
Sheltering you from the rain

Taking the lead to divert any danger
Always your shield I shall be
Standing your cause for that’s all that will matter
Keeping you so close to me

Tying a knot so the thread never weakens
Clenching my grip ever tight
Writing a poem so you will remember
Love is with you every night

Following every word you have spoken
Listening close to your needs
Thinking ahead of the problems you’re facing
Protecting what you do believe

Here is my love that I offer you freely
No matter what we may do
Forever I shall be yours so completely
My promise, to be there for you

Premium Member Dickie Duncan

A bloke by the name of Dickie Duncan
Was the butt of many jokes
His name conjured up that age old saying
You know what I'm talking 'bout, folks!

“When the frost is on the pumpkin”
I'm sure you remember it well
They say it's the time for “dickie dunkin”
To get down and ring your bell

Feel so sad for old Dickie Duncan
To be blessed with this unfortunate name
They could have called him Peter
Oops! The results would've been the same

How's about a name like Percival
Or Harold or good old Gus
His parents surely weren't thinking ahead
Hence, the reason for all this fuss

Well old Dickie can surely take some solace
It's afforded him great fortune and fame
He could have been just a nobody
But now everybody knows his name

From Plantation To Implantation

Looks like dem old ugly chains
got a new modern face
Beauty upgrade ... high-end cosmetic tech;
low-cost dressed in labor modest,
minimum maintentance convenience
From da delta plain sugar cane fields,
to the glamorous Silicon Valley hills:
Ancient bigotry of blood biochemistry
required some thinking ahead
Remove dem outdated iron appendages
from da carbon-based legs
Loose dem fettered bodies from da plantation
That warm-hearted gesture
was prompted by the cold realization
of mechanized industrialization
Machines worked tirelessly better than humans,
with zero margin error for rebellion
From da poppy-white numb cotton field chores,
to the black-site, laboratory rat maze corridors:
Modern slavery has been plastic,
guinea pig perfected;
Darkly spirit heavy iron chains
got replaced by skin light bar codes,
and microscopic nanobyte pain
in the nether layers of the epidermal

From plantation to implantation ...
total body control to full mind control
Invisible chains is a better option

From forced emancipation to voluntary enslavement ...
necessity of convenience shackles the soul
Grateful servitude is a Dead adoption

Go sing illusory freedom, spiritual songs
in an unseen force-field:
Laser etched number scrip plantation
Eat, drink and be merry, ye bonded bones ...
harvest a bountiful yield
Give curses to the marked implantation —
corrupt binary code command subjugation
The Mephistophelean workplace
is a future-now,
internal space Gulag situation ...
an augmented field mule muzzled occupation
With plenty of open-air, coffin acerage:
rows and rows
of furrowed thought manipulation
Dem New Age lobotomy slaves
be toiling on a grave condition plantation,
whose dirt cellular
cubic dimensions are:
Six-by-six-by-six injected damnation

Wise Ant Fable

Returning home a wise ant
stopped to talk to a grasshopper bent
on singing all day and playing with girls:
as winter approaches and snow unfurls
covering and hardening all food to ice
gather and shelter or you’ll pay the price

For not preparing by thinking ahead
from cold and hunger you’ll be dead
being positive won’t change a thing
singing in winter doesn’t make spring
her words of wisdom grasshopper didn’t heed
from hunger and cold died indeed.

The ant in her home protected well
from wintry ice and snow as it fell
with food and milk from aphids’ paid rent
with family and friends her winter well spent
in peace and comfort because prepared ahead.
Today's regrets are yesterday's neglects.

I'M Standing Here

" I'm Standing Here "

I should have given her all of me
anything less just can not do
not much experience with romance
I've only been close with a few.

I should have given her all or nothing
just halfway never got me there
it started out good just as it should
but in the end I'm Standing Here.

I was doing nice things that lovers do
the candy and flowers and all that jive
I kept it strong and faithful and so true
tried everything to keep this alive.

Making all my moves with her in mind
love notes, emails, and sometimes text
only half of my heart and half my life
thinking ahead wondering whats next.

I kept no secrets held from her
so many things that I should have said
trying to keep the feeling like brand new
both out in public and in our bed.

I chased her with all of my thoughts
she was the apple of my eye
I adored her dearly and her love I sought
I never hurt her nor made her cry.

My tear filled eyes have left me standing
with a heavy heart so full of fear
she is slowly drifting towards another
I am loosing my precious dear.

I should have given her all of me
just halfway never got me there
she found another that gives his all
and in the end, I'm Standing Here...

My Final Escape

Im useless they say
Im pathetic they say
Im not worth the dirt they walk on they say

Im tired of the abuse so Im forming a plan
Im tired of feeling worthless so Im thinking ahead
Im going to escape one way or another
Im finally going to leave...

Im useless they say
Im pathetic they say
Im not worth the dirt they walk on they say

Im choosing the perfect night of escape
Im choosing the night when they first created me
Im wondering if they will ever stop to think
Im wondering if they will ever miss me...

Im useless they say
Im pathetic they say
Im not worth the dirt they walk on they say

Im preparing the final final hour
Im forming the medicines now
Im not even afraid of the darkness
Im not even wearing a frown...

Im useless they say
Im pathetic they say
Im not worth the dirt they walk on they say

Thinking Ahead

listen, my son, to your mother's advice
imagine what could happen
do not be caught napping

he comes early from some extended stays
son, do not be caught napping
with someone else's love

Celebrate

He says celebrate!
Sounds great!!!
But first some questions,
Before more intimate relations.

The questions they taught us in literature school.
If you speak truth you won't find a goblin or ghoul.
Who what when where why and to what extent, please.
Let's find the answers, now don't be a tease.

The first questions, who and what, can be answered together
He reassures me we were meant for each other.
If he means marriage, in the sun I will bask.
But I don't remember, did he properly ask?

When and where must be next.
Just a moment an incoming text.
My beloved's just contacted me:
"Be at our favorite table this afternoon at three."

Don't want to seem too eager, okay, I am
Thinking ahead, at the reception, potatoes and ham?
Why? True love, the reason we chose to wed
Before rushing off to jump into bed.

To what extent? Now there's the real prize.
I'm certain it's forever that I see in his eyes.
I have agreed to give him my all.
He must be a god nearly 8 feet tall.

I'll wait for the Sun then maybe walk to the park

No Good Deed

You know what they say.....
                                           "No good deed goes unpunished."

I love you, cared for your every whim
kept you sheltered, rains may have come, but
I was there, keeping you warm, content.
Seeing that you succeed, thinking ahead,
for meeting your every need.
I remained after everyone else had abandoned you,
left you blue, cried with you, held you up, loved you more,
Straightened things that were crooked, restored you.

     A
        N
           D

You left me for her

                              A
                                 L
                                    O
                                        N
                                            E
                                                   I've heard it said,
                                                             Yes,
                                                                     "No good deed goes unpunished."

Soul

The train kept running ahead

The trees, houses run behind

Peeping through the window

My prying eyes

My mind keeps busy

Keeps thinking ahead

The train stops

I get into vehicle on road

The journey continues

I run, I walk by

Past the streets, homes

Many move alongside

Then I sleep

My dreams carry thoughts

I wake up next day

I see another day

The same trees and houses

Keep running behind

All the way I thought

I was moving ahead

Little did I know

Its a circle all around

The Almighty is watching

us running behind

I realize my soul

My body lies behind

The Candle

I live in a world of dreams
I live in a world where illusions are turned real
I live in a world where good can be turned into the best it can be

This is the reality
This is the truth of my heartbeat
This is how it was meant to be

Nature always thinking ahead of time to set a place for me
So why should I merely exist when I can dance to the beat
Why be imprisoned by reality when I can be the Master Mind of it

I woke up to find the candle of my life already lit
Many would think that limits to merely shed light
But I will ensure to shine as bright as only a candle can

There is so much potential in me, as much as I care to believe
Hey! In fact I can exude so much heat
And with it I will melt the bounds that bar me from realising my dreams

Dangerous Employment

After college, I worked for Boeing
An engineer in Aero Space
They gave me a desk in a large room
Mostly Engineers in that place

I’d only worked there a shot time
When I had an incident
I bent over to pick up something
The seat of my pants did vent

I was wearing a sport coat and tie
The uniform of the day
So I took side steps out of the room
Afraid of what someone might say

Thinking ahead as I left the room
As I passed the last desk there
I swiped a stapler sitting on top
A secretary gave a stare

I sneaked down the hall to the men’s room
Where an open stall I found
Took off my pants and looked at a rip
From the top all the way down

I sat down and started to staple
It made a loud clicking sound
Someone was in the stall next to me
My noise was making confound

“Do you need some help in there fellow”
These were the words he spoke
“What are doing to make that noise,
Is this some sort of a joke?”

I told him the noise was a stapler
It’s something I have to fix
Although he stopped asking me questions
He still suspected a trick

I must have used a hundred staples
This had to last me all day
I had to sit on staple chain mail
But it never did gave way

When I finally got home that evening
My wife asked, “How was your day?
And why are you walking so funny
You never do walk that way”

Before I can tell you the story
I need some nursing and care
What happened to me at work today
Was just totally unfair

She was putting some salve on my butt
As I related my day
“Sounds like your job is so dangerous,
You should get hazardous pay!”

If You Took the Time

If you took the time you'd see I'm the right man for you
If you looked a little deeper you'd see I've got the Right plans for you
Everytime you fell short I gave a Hand to you
But you won't take the time to see I'm the right man for you

In a world full of girls, how is it possible I only think of one?
I felt too much, so now I'm in the club to drink myself numb
Tempted to message you, but I deleted your contact in my phone so I can't do that
Thinking ahead, because I still have my pride and I don't want to lose that

I only had eyes for you and my heart's set
So walking away will always be a hard step
You've pushed me away so much, and I haven't got far left
I tried fixing you, yet you only caused my heart mess

Maybe you just want to have fun
I can't be mad because you're still Young
Due to my past situations I'm older than I should be
I just thought I'd be enough because even in the Worst situations I gave you a good me

When you needed to cry I gave you my shoulder
Never did I think you'd stab me in the back when you leant over
I'll swim through my tears because I refuse to drown
But it's ironic how I come all guns blazing just to be shot down

If you took the time you'd see I'm the right man for you
If you took the time you'd see I had the right plans for you
One day you'll wake up and realise what you missed out on
It's a shame you never took the time, because now I'm gone

Yearn To the Sands

Nov2011
By Sashi.Prabhu(Zeauoxian)

Awoke early this morn with a dizzy head,
Last nite I had a torrid time in bed.
Tossed and turned on a warm bed last nite,
Troubled were the dreams , set my head a lite.

Was thinking ahead as I stepped off my bed,
Dull was my sight as I thought I wept.
The sadness within wrinkled my brow,
The puffiness in myself and I asked myself what now?

On the wisdom’s throne I went and perched,
Gone I want the thoughts of emptiness, that lurched,
A smile I forced on my sleepy face,
I got to ready myself a put on all grace.

I came here to the lavatory to drop and stink,
But all I desire to do is sit and think.
But now all that I do is scratch my balls,
And see the soap stains on the walls.

And now it dawns to me it’s satur’s morn,
As the thought seeps in ,all pain is gone.
To the beach we are going when the sun gets high,
To the clear water, clean air and blue sky.

The salty spray I imagine now,
The force of the mist and the freshness in my body all above.
My body is jovious and filled with frolic,
The juices in my stomach churn just like a craving desired by an alcoholic.

As the sun goes up I pack my things,
The flame within is joyous and on my face it brings,
The sound of the waves and the smell of wet sand,
The call of the beach is strong even in the hinterland.

As we drive to the hotel and park the car,
I can see the birds fly by and go afar.
I check into the room
And spend time to groom.

To the restaurant we head,
Buffet served on the table of snacks, tea , coffee and lots of bread.
After the snack I have a gulp of coffee truly black,
And get myself to the sandy track…………

Remember How We Forgot

Remember how we forgot
to fall until we were already
in too deep?
That the emotions we felt
were nothing
but small sections
of our whole story.
And there would always
be someone new
to make us believe
we were
everything.

Remember how we forgot
to look both ways
before stumbling into the street?
How our parents
raced after us anxiously.
And we laughed
because we didn’t have a care
in the world.

Remember how we forgot
that a broken heart
wasn’t the end of the world.
That the tears
we let stream down our faces
were quick to end.
But we still thought
we would never find love again.

Remember how we forgot
that sometimes
the princess doesn’t find
her Prince Charming?
But we grew up believing
that we’d find
the one
before anyone else.
So we got our hearts broken
one too many times,
thinking
this is it.

Remember how we forgot
to cry when we hurt?
How we held all the tears in
to make us invincible.
But we found out too late
that even invincible things
have a weakness.

Remember how we forgot
to enjoy the
little things in life?
So we ignored the beauty
in flowers blooming.
And we regretted it later.

Remember how we forgot
that everything comes to an
end.
And how we never know
if our life ends
in a dot or a dash.
So we grow up thinking
we’ll get a happy ending.

Remember how we forgot
to stop thinking
about the future?
So we didn’t grow up
too fast.
But we kept thinking ahead
and lost sight
of the gift of the present.

And so before we knew it,
our lives became a series of stories
beginning with the phrase
Remember How We Forgot.
