Dickie Duncan

A bloke by the name of Dickie Duncan Was the butt of many jokes His name conjured up that age old saying You know what I'm talking 'bout, folks! “When the frost is on the pumpkin” I'm sure you remember it well They say it's the time for “dickie dunkin” To get down and ring your bell Feel so sad for old Dickie Duncan To be blessed with this unfortunate name They could have called him Peter Oops! The results would've been the same How's about a name like Percival Or Harold or good old Gus His parents surely weren't thinking ahead Hence, the reason for all this fuss Well old Dickie can surely take some solace It's afforded him great fortune and fame He could have been just a nobody But now everybody knows his name © Jack Ellison 2013

This is a tremendously horrible name to have my friend! I feel quite sad for him to have such a terrible name! You have gloriously written a spectacular write based on this poor mans name! I truly enjoyed reading this lovely poem this afternoon! What an awesome piece Jack, Great Work!!

I bet he's turning over in his grave at that one. Was probably, finally, finding some peace... I'm thinking about naming my dragon Gertrude... He ought to love it! Ha! Everyone keeps telling me to control my dragon, and he won't listen... I get steamed and puffed at, and fired regularly. This would be great pay back! Why do I get the feeling that if I do it... There'll be a time out at the lake again? AWW GEE... I want to have a little fun, too. Silly Dragon gets away with everything... LOL
