A paradise
You enter the country
Someone will follow you
And kill you gently
In a dark alley
Paradise never was so relaxed
There was a man from Switzerland
Who Lived a life of glitz and glam
He never thought
That he'd get caught
Covering all his bits in jam
Perhaps I had fallen asleep
Like Rip Van Winkle
And had pleasant dreams.
Who knows?
All I know I woke one day
In an earthly paradise.
As I exited my room, onto the balcony,
I saw an awesome landscape.
And for all that is good
I have no recollection of the name
Of the place I found myself in.
Cliffs surrounded the little village.
On top I could discern so many trees,
Larches, pines, and sturdy spruce.
Down in the hamlet, grew
Low growing oaks and walnut trees,
Flourishing around dispersed homes.
Down the cliff a river flowed down
And wended itself further down the hill.
The air was pure and birds sang.
My wife called me for breakfast.
I was hungry but loathe to leave
Such a magnificent beautiful scene.
Land of lush forested hills,
Such exquisiteness gives thrills,
Sparkling Alpine lakes delight,
Their pristine glow glitters bright,
Azure touches the meadows,
A whisper of cloud shadows,
Land of lush forested hills.

For Charles Messina's "Elemental" contest
Mountains of my life
never forgotten.
Rivers of my veins
flowing through my memories.
Green Swiss valleys,
far from my sight,
but always close to my heart.
My Alps where I was born,
bring to me the fresh air
to breath again.
I remember those summer days,
with my feet
into the shore waters
of the Rhine river,
or the long walks across
the charming countryside.
Oh, bohemian Basel...!
my birthplace.
Oh, my lovely Switzerland...!
you will always be my first steps,
my unforgettable dream,
a treasure in my mind...!

Paris for looking.
Switzerland is for climbing.
Home, for a good rest.
I talk of calmness
I can think of Switzerland
Such beauty inspire.
Heidi comes to mind the instant I hear the word Switzerland.
I see snow-capped mountains, sparkling waters, vast meadows
Bern tour will include medieval clock tower and Muenster Cathedral
I will include Lucerne’s chapel bridge and Montreaux, on Lake Geneva
Dare I visit the berg of Zermatt, named for Alpine’s meadows?
Do you realize this is a car-free resort town?
I may have to peek at Geneva, home to peacekeeping organizations
Peacekeeping and neutrality the mainstay of Swiss politics.
The house was silent when I woke,
I wrapped up warm and went to smoke.
I tip-toed through my cousin's home,
(when I die, it's here I'll roam.)
In the kitchen, I poured some tea
and climbed up on the window seat.
These European windows swing
inward, such a novel thing.
Old wooden shutters, they swing out
and as they do I almost shout,
apparently, it snowed last night
and snow's still falling, to my delight.
The house sits high above the town,
I lean far out and look around.
The snow is thick upon the roofs;
except for snowflakes, nothing moves.
And that's when I first heard the sound
that snowflakes make when falling down.
A whispered hush that muffles all,
I'm stunned and childlike, struck with awe.
I close my eyes and breathe the air,
(no air is sweeter anywhere)
and then the most miraculous thing:
the bells in all the churches ring.
Though each church tower's bell is rung
at different speeds with different songs,
they blend and merge as they all rise,
from far below, up to the skies.
And I from my snowy window perch
feel my soul and heart both lurch.
I pray this memory will forever stay,
this gift that God gave me that day.
Thank you, my cousin,
for all the times
you gave me moments most sublime.
As we sailed the fast river of Rhône
the steady sun bleached it a sparkling gold
like the treasures of Caesar’s kingdom
A curtain of fawn-silken tackle, shaded
back the fervidly garish star scatter,
and cooling flower-scented airs tickled
the senses like touching down-soft silk

“Put on airs’ - Peter and I are Gatsby gilded.
Why not dress - on luminous forenoons?
Pick a heart, any heart and prick it, sharply,
with the sight of a handsome man.
I yet breathless, breathe
What weapon is sharper than libido?
I defend myself, with fashion’s sartorial sparkle.
Frankly, I was hoping for something passively erotic,
you know, foment a false perception - dazzle
with fancy outwork to tip the cosmic balance
Men will witness what they believe

Desperately Trying by Club des Belugas, Anna Luca
Switzerland is love
High mountains and stunning lakes
Peaceful life is there
Some responsible humans, are beating a path to
A nondescript country' may they focus real heat.!
On the coldness we know of' how much more hides away?
Is there love in that nation; maybe those native will say.?
I would they will come out in welcome? flowers to place.'
Before these good spirited visitors, who care; all's not to waste
Are there good Swiss folk? Who'll succour? Believing no lie'
People who'll accept other humans.' Maybe they'll stand up?
In their thousands, to reject evil plans.' Linking arms
Sharing stories of how better things could be.?
Will they challenge any prejudgment, indeed it might be me?
Yet..No.) I am, as are those marching, ready to cheer!
Should the Swiss' prove their mettle' in a denying of fear.! Oh
May such so be.' And if God wills? there"ll be quality too there' so great!
And also much honour, we all watch to see.! A lot rests with the Swiss.'
Will they now. Rise? To find..' Good reason, and spirit'' of truth
Also liberty? Maybe just in time.!
Devestation by the mountain, a warning now to all.'
Life is fragile.' Who can know.? Or avert when such a disaster
Decides to fall.?
Everyday hero's going to capture some zero's up in the
Mountains where theres lakes streams and fountains
Where a war never comes, yet they oft beat on its drum
Where theres wealth health and a blood store.' Thats
Un-modified to be sure.' Only the best if they need some
M n r a less is more see.' All they need is your fealty.!
Be quiet as ordered. While is sown worldwide disorder
From Nigeria to New Zealand, how their minions love stealing
These vampier's gorge on your feelings, in ecstacy they're
Reeling..' filling nations with notions' sickness by potions
While you just cower in the corner' with less than jack horner
As the plums rich they; are taking (while your mind they're baking)
Can you remain waiting? while your freedom they're taking!
