In This Time Of Looming Dark, Look To The True Light

World is dark and racing fast into hell
grab a coin, toss it in a wishing well
have some faith that our Father sees and hears
sad voices crying out in deeper fear
and will always with Love do what is right
be it light of day or darkest of night.

Hold fast, precious Life is so very sweet.
Eternal mercy comes from Heaven's seat.

World now seems to spin so out of control
now fear seeks room within our weeping souls
future is uncertain and outlook grim
yet one must have faith in Light and in Him
for purest Love that gives and never fails
even if calm has now gone off the rails.

Hold fast, precious Life is so very sweet.
Eternal mercy comes from Heaven's seat.

World has in the past looming dark beheld
mankind has too oft catastrophe spelled
yet survived to go on to live and strive
so thank God we are here and still alive
living, breathing and asking all the more
for divine hands to save us, we implore.

Hold fast, precious Life is so very sweet.
Eternal mercy comes from Heaven's seat.

Robert J. Lindley, 3-20- 2020
Rhyme, ( When Faith And Hope Are The Keys To Sanity )

Note:
Friends, the refrain in this new poem came to me while
I was writing the start of a new poem for my,
"Lesser Known Poets Series. I immediately wrote it down
and stopped writing the new poem for the Series.
I decided to write this poem to address the uncertainty
and immense fear that is so very prevalent in our world.
And give the message that as grim as it may seem now,
our loving Father will not abandon us! Have faith and know
no power in this universe supersedes that of Father, Son
and Holy Spirit, the Trinity.
May God bless and comfort you, one and all..

Premium Member In a Moment

In the moment,
When a glistening
Snowflake falls to the earth
Washing the ground
In joy and wonder,
Peaceful silencing the
Darkness, the heartless

In the moment,
When a starry eyed thought
Lifts its smile, inspiring
The soul to embrace music
In notes of faith, stirring
Awake the breathless
Prayers, gentling grace

In the moment,
When a reluctant kiss
Apologizes for the fears,
The quiet tears,
Lost and lonely, faded
Like fires, sparks to smoking
Embers, ashes of the past

In the moment,
When insecurities thrive
Walking like the shadows
Along the oaks and pines
Imitating strength
Only known to those
Who listen to the feelings
Caressing the memories

In the moment,
When light replaces darkness,
Hope supersedes doubts,
Laughter inspires the child
Inside every heart who knows
There is a God who gives
More love than we can believe
More love than we can hold
More love than we can know

In the moment,
When His love falls down,
Erasing the past, the fears and tears
With promises for the new,
Beginnings that lead to assurance
That His Son has forgiven
The soul who believes in His gift –
The gift of eternal peace
The gift of everlasting life –
With the God who created each moment!

In the moment,
When I believed
I discovered the answer
To my every need
I learned what it means
To love unconditionally
And to know joy that is like
The gentlest peace, overflowing
My doubts and insecurities
Promising to bring me through every grief
With love that can mend every heartbreak within
Love that can silence even the mess that is ME

Would You Love Me If I Wasn't A Poet? Sponsored by: Silent One
______________________________________________________________
If my words lacked flow, unadorned, and dry,
In the minds of those who mope and roam.
Poetry purls and parades its philharmonic prose.
If my ink dwindled, leaving pages bare.
Should you still sense my soul's splendor?
Where waltzing words entwine and endeavor

Would you still cherish me sans the poet's guise?
A stunning seemliness, a seraphic stake.
Now, we anticipate this mutual toast.
It's a tradition we've upheld, you and me.
for countless years.

However, what if I never compose?
What if my verses abruptly cease?
Will you still inure infatuation for me?
If my words no longer intertwine?
Will my verses strive to heave delight?
Even if they lack their former bright?

You offer unwavering support, truly!
My muse is born from deep happiness.
Delight in my dulcet discord—a deed
Without your input, my words carry no value.
It feels as if you favor my fantastic flexibility.
Poetry is in my blood; that verity is obvious.
Even if terms at times tangle.

I'm afraid you'll amplify apathy one day.
face futile files and fragmented facts
Still, your urging ubiquity dulls my iniquity.
A placid pithead packed with pride and purity.

Despite the ups and downs
You ceaselessly stood by me.
As my skills strive to strike success.
You are my source of strength.
In each verse I write, you praise
My poems find solace in your gaze.
But what if I stop being a poet?
Will you cast a blind eye?
Will my words still be worthwhile?

If I can't glide amid the lyrical birds,
I long for our ties to rise beyond rhyme.
May our love defy the flow of time.
You admire me beyond words.
But your mate is utterly unattainable.
Our steadfast solidarity supersedes art.

Premium Member A Poetic Caress

I write of feelings real;
some difficult to express.
And encourage hearts to feel;
with a poetic caress.

My pen interrogates pain;
trying to describe the hurt.
And redefine what is sane;
revealing the hidden dirt.

My poems evoke feelings;
from first breath to Death's embrace.
And shattering glass ceilings;
amplify pride and disgrace.

My words connect with a few;
beyond their expected norms.
For I share their point of view;
through rhyme and established forms.

My muse supersedes all bounds;
exhuming dead dreams and fears.
And my fragmented heart pounds;
visiting anguish and tears.

My soul pools in hurting hearts
as it leaks upon the page.
And anxiety departs;
from the heart of this old sage.

The Wily Thorn

The wily thorn that signifies the rose
abides; some hapless fool will come along
untutored in the art of willful pose
to grasp, and sustain a sharp reminder!

His gift bestowed and modestly attended,
there stirs a trembling only she may know
whose pledge is true and joyfully intended,
first semblance of a passion soon to grow.

How powerful beauty's lure can be!
it supersedes, and pricks the heart to bleed,
and captured in its snare they're led
on rapture's path, where'er that path may lead.

Time To Laugh - No Religion Needed - As New Year Supersedes It

It’s time now to have some fun

So less from you of the moribund

It’s time to kick our weights off, including our smelly socks

Time for wishing everyone good cheer, as Christmas is nearly here

It doesn’t matter what we think, or if mine or your feet really stink

Religion just get out of here, as I am looking to New Year

We can then maybe work it out, without having to shout

I told you that until next year, that I won’t even hear

Anything you have to say, but you will say it anyway

At least though then we have another chance to try

The next New Year to make things right

i’ve goosebumps
   bold and shrill
      pinpoints that peak

my arms once relaxed
   and warm
but shadows reveal
boy and father silhouettes

alongside the jagged fireplace stone
and a creaking uttered
in the bowels of the floor underneath.

   i’ve goosebumps
      bold and shrill
         pinpoints that peak

i slowly
breathe
an icy breath
as if
room temperature’s
dropped
                            below freezing.

         i’ve goosebumps
           bold and shrill
              pinpoints that peak

recalling
how my cousin
saw

the chair
                       rocking
with nobody there.

                  i’ve goosebumps
              bold and shrill
  pinpoints that peak

but from my innermost place,
                i slap myself
      a couple times:
‘put your big girl panties on’

i turn up the lights
    *broadway on steroids*

and call down peace.
for though i can believe in such things,
      my greater belief
supersedes.

my arms
are once again warm —
   flesh and blood
prevails!

Ribs

Political leaders globally surmise our economic stability.
Their mind desires maximization of their capabilities.
They seek power that is not to be.
Do they enmesh via history?
Does it matter what occurrences have already manifested?
These are the questions that are answered via their dogmatic presence.
Radically, they decide in an environment of arrest.
These dedicated bodies should care.

Religious figures throughout the universe suggest that humanity must get involve.
That they need to know life for what it is.
That God design this planet as a living will.
Through their mind-sets, they supposition humankind as only life formed.
Does it matter when new life is born?
Do they know the mixing bowl of faith is how mankind develops hate?
This implicates what is embroiled.
The love of thou fellow man, woman, and child will devout all.

For there is no man or woman above what is right.
For God gave us life to live precise.
That is to wrong that precarious time.
That is when right supersedes within the mind.
If it does not, all humanity is lost.
Then there is no more cold war.

A Winston churchill’s declaration
to a tiny nation situated in the dark continent
due to its magnificence and sight capturing habitat
only matched by the electrifying effect of its hospitality.

A country where wealth has long made a short call
and yet to return to where it is needed.
Starvation on Boda-bodas, perambulating across its communities
as a longing for good life is never satisfied.

Yet happiness supersedes lack
on a nation which is tree loving;
a global competitor in Bananas, pineapples and Avocados
and a home to extinction-kissing Gorillas.

Satisfaction from pan fried grasshoppers
equates the appetizing feel of Italian pizzas and Turkish Donas.
Gender division of labour quite one-sided
where men are roof installers and women, the actual builders.

No wonder, female engineers and contractors
have long attracted the norm in a society
which is in love with Bicycles
and buttoned by a twin dry seasons.

Bwindi and Mhahinga are major game reserves
but its stand out feature so unique
is the simple fact it’s the youngest country in the globe
with one in every two, fourteen or below.

Red Blood

Blood is red for vibrant,
Beating and in time,
Rhythmical with vitality,
Resounding in spark and shine.

Zestfulness depends on your blood,
Having it and living by its pump,
With transports plasma around the body,
To clot when cuts scare and could stump.

The zeal we get from red blood cells,
Save from Anemia, Malaria and Sickle cell disease,
And when too many white blood cells accumulate,
Leukaemia damages our tissues, the sleaze.

The heart is rightly denoted,
As the centre from which emanates love,
The essence of the person,
The call that you shouldn’t be above.

The colour red is spritely,
Vibrates energy and drive,
A dynamism which supersedes,
The dirge that sometimes thrives.

When you see an icon,
A symbol, logo or picture,
That's covered in the colour red,
Just remember its derivation structure.

You could say that blood was made red,
By god, coincidence or accident,
But I think that red is the colour of blood,
The true precedent and determinant.

Stupid Bathroom Bill

Apparently it’s a p**is that makes a man these days
Never mind the testosterone that fuels an angry craze
A testosterone filled vag**a made of real human flesh
Seems way better than an estrogen filled p**is in a dress
This muted feeble phalange is a danger to our most revered
And a rugged hairy man-looking "girl" is never to be feared
People feel safe around an anxious displaced bearded “woman”
-Especially in private while getting ready and peeing in the can-
Far more comfortable than a meek soft tender "man" in heels
Applying makeup, fixing her hair, and living her own ideals
It seems as though people are allowed to be people these days
Which is fine as long as no one is comfortable in their own ways
And protection of the righteous ones (especially those with green eyes)
Supersedes the basic rights of a lesser class lacking moral tithes
So in that case, send the angry misplaced stubbly “woman” instead
Our daughters can handle that much more than a p**is walking dead.

Premium Member For a Split Second

A scarlet sun sears the western sky
with vermilion tongues of flaming fire.
And sinking below the planet’s rim,
Sol ignites the far fringes of Earth.

Heaven burns amidst the crimson flames
scorching the edge of the horizon.
And like a child playing with crayons,
light scribbles cerise onto the night.

Shadows meld with cobalt silhouettes,
beneath a vista of ebony.
And a silver moon gets snagged in
branches of a gnarly old oak tree.

Magic supersedes reality
in my imagination's playground.
And as Nature hypnotizes me,
time seems to pause, for a split second./center>
