Best Stride Poems

In My Stride

It's time now for me to start a new,
I have to as all my poems were removed.
Locked out of my account by poetrysoup,
I was excluded in exile from this poetry loop.

Following this exclusion I am now back,
not fazed pulsating the evolutionary track,
evading the limits as I upgrade and adapt,
soaking up the jargon and improving my act.

Many others write rhymes befiting to poetry,
with less common or poetic words in decipher reads,
my rhymes are more fitting to an unsightly reality,
with everyday common words on the contrary.

On the face my style has a lesser appearance,
but I write rhymes for head and chest clearance,
I don't comply to the contemporary coherence,
I'm more a wild card away from adherence.

I had created a monster,
the sort offence sponsors,
a repulsive imposter
receiving revolted responses.

A quest that I conquered with ease and perfected,
but went to far and squandered to see it ejected,
wondering beyond the boundaries until disconnected,
I didn't ponder it, I was fond of it that's why it was selected.

When I get knocked down I return with haste,
grab a fresh slate and draft a brand new taste,
when you lose all, start new and don't hesitate,
in the face of adversity carry on and create.

My life's a quest to evolve and progress,
each test to solve, break down and digest,
unstoppable on this path until I witness,
a poem I write with rhyme finesse.

Take life in stride

Peaks and valleys as I ventured

Take life in stride

When slipping down, seek the upside

Sell your soul; you’ll be indentured

But heartfelt words can’t be censured

Take life in stride

Her Stride

A self-assured progressive projectile
Locked on its target like a heat seeking missile
Confident, a smile all the while
Marvellous like a polished marble tile
Strong, but fragile
An ambiguous profile
To remain unresolved, a mystery file
Trendy, always in style
Smooth like a silky textile
A lioness on the prowl
Hear her roar, fear her growl
The feminization of a species
A natural selection of beauties
A temper so feline
A manner so divine
An awesome design
A perfect being born to reign
A mind map that he can neither navigate nor define
A mosaic that only He can refine
Provoked, her stride is heavy
It is a charge to envy
Her walk is easy
It can mislead as lazy
It is a march through boundaries and norms
A journey of a million no’s and no yes’s
An irrational continuation to an unknown destination
A premonition to know, to sacrifice for the unborn generation
A hope that peace will come no matter how dark the skies
The intuition to continue to love when hate fills the air with cries
An incessant knock on that closed door
The insatiable hunger to always wanting to know
A road laden with thorns and paved with broken glass
A never ending test in an unassailable class
At times, it is a burdened conquest
A seemingly impossible quest
At the end of which the rewards are already taken
A rigged race, the winner already chosen
The credit to someone less deserving
Her pain from a tradition undiscerning
But she’s unstoppable like a silver bullet
Hitting with penetrating impact
Her dreams riding on the tail of a comet
Untouchable like a rocket to a far away planet
Decorated, an achievement in perseverance
An acknowledgement of her undeniable presence
The order of a female monarchy
Female atop the hierarchy
A proven recipe
His failed conspiracy

Treacherous Stride

Unsteady stride, feeling weak, deflates any thought of pride. I have to pull it
together, find my stride.

Caught with my guard down, never saw it coming, the blow to my heart was
painfully numbing. Feel like I'm stuck on a merry-go-round, going in circles, never
gaining any ground.

I've been smitten by love many times in my life, but never before been cut to the
bone by such a cruel knife.

Premium Member Toward Destruction Stride

Learning about you, I just have to decide
doing what's right is best with God as my guide...
I verily pity your family, especially your bride
hope you repented ... since your sins you can never hide.

This epigram is for you; hope you won't deride
may its truth bring great warning tide:

Vanquish vain pride*
that speeds up downfall ride…
lest folly and flaw exposed side by side
overtake with destruction stride.

Such is not just for Dr. Harold Frederick Shipman**who died
languishing with his vain arrogance so deep and wide...
may its biblical essence glow while practical virtue along hearts glide
prodding me to live along meaningful purpose while in Christ I abide!

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

My Youthful Stride

Every time I try to climb two steps forward in my life
I get knocked back 5 more behind

I just want to make sense of this
How can a man survive against time

If flying is a achievement that he can never win
Like trying to be free from an unforgiven sin

But im a striving man
When I fall deep I always get out of the quick sand

You can't have goals without dreams
you can't expect something to stay together without a sem

I want to lose all hope in me, this young black man
But in my spirit that won't stand

So for the youth that may feel this way
Understand that if you are focused

And you have a belief
You will manage to get that achievement one day

Notice that you only have to options to be a strong young man or woman
To fly with wings or without them

Its up to you to decide
Know that it will effect your entire life

Everything is greening up
Longer days are warming
Neighbors have a new pup
Honeybees are swarming
Violets on the front lawn
I'm seeing dandelions, too
The winter snow is gone
Our street is a zoo …
With children playing ball
House pets are outside
Six pleasant months ‘til fall
I’m getting back in stride!

May the Child In All of Us Live To Play Another Day

I believe the child in us wants to come out to play
in our own special way
where we can be cherished and loved
In such caring way
So let us pray that day comes our way soon
.
To many moons have passed us by
Since our hearts were stuck on high
It seems like we were just getting started
When we found ourselves saying goodbye
As hard as I try to get by
without you, by my side,
I still, keep coming up with why
.
The harder I try to let it fly
The more it just makes me want to cry
I'm not one to pry or ask why
I'm the kind of guy who is going to play it wise
Oh, my Lord to my surprise as I open my eyes
Our day is here neither one of us needs to fear

As long as we keep our love in high gear
As it lights up our love year after year
We should enjoy the ride as it puts our life in stride
There is so much to come
As everything gets into a full glide
When our hearts will no doubt collide

When we come out on the other side
Our life will be filled with so much pride
Then the child inside of us
Will be released to come out to play
In our own special way today, and always I pray
Because soon you will be on your way to stay
So we can play every day in our own way

Taking Things In My Stride

The things that get thrown at us throughout all our life
All sent to try us and test us with some strife

Things knock us all, it seems from side to side
It’s a good job I learnt early to take things in my stride

It’s a good job I have long legs, that much I can say
They come in handy when needed, for getting right away

So many things sent to stop me, they all have really tried
Good job I learnt to early take things in my stride.

Time and again the battle can sometimes seem over bearing
Long legs are a good thing, with the trainers I am wearing.

When thing get too much, one wants to run far and wide
Good job I learnt early to take it in my stride

Trainers are running shoes for those that do not understand.

The School of My Heart

Many years gone from her birth since nineteen sixty-four
With hard work she got into her stride
Trinity, in her name, expanded and gained prestige.

Intermutanda, Constantia: her motto
An implication of consistency in academic excellence
In her form is excellence prevailed
Imparture of knowledge to empty little boys
As to the Messiah's impartment to his disciples
Before leaving the Earth.

Her form as mother to her virtuous boys
Nurturing their daily school work— the best
With the fear of God excellent they go.
Ergo the performance of her boys is excellent
With regards to her belief.

In her shadow delights the success of life
With allegiance her boys return, thus,
An appreciative symbol— for the work Holy Trinity has enlightened unto them
United they come, same they go.

Trinity: the school with dignity of all schools
The Best in the country
All others seem to be better, but
Holy Trinity possesses the Best.

A Rustic Stride

The age of cacophony ,impels me on a rustic stride
Away from the fancy spotlight,
Where flowers bloom in robust rapture
With its deacons fluttering with laughter,
Where brothers embrace eachother ,with gleeful splendour
Spreading their fronds to protect little hearts, so tender.
Where a choir garbed with feathers of amber, jade and ebony
Perform a soulful symphony .
I walk along to meet a singing maid
Combing her strands along fields of jade
The day passes with tranquility
Befriending the grace of these eminent personalities.

Stride

I saw her in a flies eye
About a thousand times a second,
Right as she was walking by
On pumps that really set it...
And heels as tall as champagne glasses,
Slowing down my mind,
Stopping time soon as she passes
With one thought in mind...
Pulling off those stocking lace's
Made with Chinese silk,
From the worm that make men burn,
And crave for mothers milk...
Each geometric step in motion,
Compliments her hips,
To tug upon the slightest notion,
Coming from my lips...
A walk can be so sexy ,
If you can see my point of view,
But a stride is what will let me
Crave the woman in the shoe...

Not In Stride

The snow wasn’t much
But the piles are high
And the corners are slushy and wet.
In the clean-up, the plows
Made it hard to get by
And that makes many people upset.

Still, it could have been worse;
Life is close to the norm
Yet there’ll always be those who complain
And I’m certain the next time
We’re hit with a storm
They’ll pipe up with their whining refrain.
