Best Statue Poems
shadow beautiful
outline smooth as wife
but mannequine
touched her softly still
dreaming oneness through feel
though statue stood still
wife shook my sweet dream
real replacing plastic feel
me still as statue

A hand of fine art
carving impressions of heart
beauty to embalm.
A creation glorified
inspiring while life denied.
I once behaved. Followed all the rules. Understood what was "normal". My parents taught this, teachers demanded this, principals enforced this. Ministers expected it, society reinforced it, friends tested it, professors challenged it.
Then, poetry became my statue of liberty.
following the rules
and behaving normally
no longer appeals
Oh! Lady Liberty long may your
Torch's flame be lifted up high
Reaching to heaven's lofty skies.
The national emblem of "the land
Of the free and the home of
The brave."
Oh! Lady Liberty represents our
National sovereignty! Our
Basic freedoms of: "life, liberty
And the pursuit of happiness."
Oh! Lady Liberty represents freedom
From the shackles slavery and oppression.
The right of liberated people to govern
And represent their beloved nation.
Oh! Lady Liberty guarantees us the
Right to worship God as we please!
Hallowed be his holy name! Lest we
Neglect our hopes, thoughts, and dreams!
Oh Lady Liberty is our statue! Lifting up
High her torch to the downtrodden and
Oppressed nations. People are fighting
And dying for the basic rights to be free!
Oh! Lady Liberty is letting her torch brightly
Burning against spiritual Satanic darkness
And slavery! Lady liberty is really
Shining brightly for all the world to see!
Is our beloved Statue of Liberty!
Love in Christ Jesus!

Emotions soaring into the skies
As the footsteps echo off the balconies
The crow's accompany my soul's flight
I imagine them to be your eyes
Carefully watching so you may be there
If I should slip and fall into the nothing
Their cries are your words of praise
And so I smile at my distant reverie
Standing next to a stone angel
Surely you are prettier than she
Her eyes are hollowed; yours full of life
You reflect the sun's light with your smile
In my dreams you chase the fear away
How is it that you do so much without knowing?
These things I'd never say to you
For fear your eyes would never rest on me again
And so through these words I express
This love that goes beyond anything
The natural world may procure
In my mind you are my guardian
A statue ever resting in my heart.
water of life statue
graces courtyard of cathedral
showing unconditional love
Jesus love
the she seems to grow out of the he
a circle of life
there is a feeling of unity and clarity
the artist knew what he was doing
people are eating
not paying attention
I wonder if they realize
what they are missing
a sense of security and peace comes over me
I stare at the statue
loving the loving feeling
she graces me with…..
THE DAY THE STATUE OF LIBERTY CRIED
It was September eleventh two thousand one
A day the entire world was stunned
Two unopposed aircraft entered New York City
Leaving a trail of death without pity
Like missiles they hit the renowned Twin Towers
Reducing them to rubble in a matter of hours
The pilots who flew them had a mission to follow
Choosing to die just to please allah
They cared not a whit for the lives of others
They sought the praise of their Islamic brothers
At the cost of thousands of American lives
Their loyalty to allah became their prize
The revenge of American lives is yet unended
For fear that someone may be offended
The question is asked, what would we gain
While the blight on America still remains
Now ISIS has reared its ugly head
And two American journalists are dead
So acts of terrorism can't be denied
It began when the Statue of Liberty cried

(for my personal twist read the last stanza];)
Stands tall and hovering this great green landmark lady
The world's most famous gift and token
Welcoming all into Uncle Sam's ethnic potpourri
In her vast melting pot sweet melee awoken.
Pointing as it seems to the star spangled sky
from the land of the stripes and star-spangled banner
Her torch to meet the tourist traveller's eye
while she tires not of standin' in that manner.
Ah this world famous sea-green statue
Her fans would love to have her tattoo
as she welcomes all and sundry
from her pedestal a man-made plateau.
If you ever go there
and have time to stare
View her from the colonnade
or view her from the promenade
With that well-known torch lamp
this mother of exiles champ
She does for welcome and freedom stand
A beacon beckoning upon Liberty Island.
On the Seine River stands her model return gift
just downstream from Eiffel tower
Ah Lady Liberty's one American lady
weilding real worthy super power.
Eiffel designed the Eiffel tower
and he Lady Liberty's designer as well
And Bartholdi her sculptor,
sculpted her so swell.
Extol I may this famous monument
but mine praise can't compare to 'The New Colossus'
A tribute by her own American by Emma Lazarus
Her face too for Liberty's model quite famous.
And when asked personally what I admired most about Lady Liberty
I sighed and replied, 'atleast she wasn't dressed in mini or bikini
for liberty is not in libertine but rather in attires of modesty
Why, milady Liberty thank God you're almost dressed like me
I frown at super models whose role model in dress ain't you nor the Virgin Mary.

David for David's contest
Victorian art is quite clean
Though Roman and Greek are obscene
The Queen did not care
That David was bare
But he was quite shy of the mean!
Republic State
A lance of apostrophe
Witness the greatest marvel since …
Never again
Guy Fawkes failed
The new generation Guy Fawkes will fail
Witness a marvel
Dead quiet
A man stands to take the place of Mrs Liberty
The president of the United States
George Washington never saw this coming
Abe Lincoln rolls in his grave
Hilary Clinton is evil
Obama is in the words an Obamanation
No one is just
Who do you work for?
In reality
You never worked for us
You never work for the people
You work for the secret
What is it?
How lovely she stands on
Ellis Island in New York City
Raised is her torch to inspire
Freedom and liberty
Given to the U.S by France
Hoping for a chance
Because of the American Revolution
For friendship was the resolution
In recognition we all be one
Ever get a chance to take a trip
Go see this wonderful statue that represents
Freedom democracy and international friendship
was born and raised in NY left to a small town
will rewrite this to enter contest I LOVE AND MISS NY
Finally, she turned to statue
She appeared every where.
In train, in tram
between peoples, a silent view.
Just watching a statue.
Every one such looks and pass
She was
such silent; with out motion
just alive her eyes.
Nobody knew.
Dragon and The Sheriff of CrazyLand were in Competition. Yes, again!
You’d think, they would some how learn; it’s always better to be friends.
But not these two! UH Huh! No Way! For a statue was found, to be in play.
You see, an anonymous donor, commissioned a statue for our Park, today.
The final subject, to be determined, by vote of the citizens of Mayhem Falls.
Able to draw tourists from all around, but still worthy of our Hollowed Halls.
They wanted a Landmark, a trademark, a Pulitzer Prize, quality kind of stuff.
It should imbue, the true character, of our dear little Mayhem Falls, not fluff.
All this based on pictures entered, by photographers, to win a big money prize.
Need I remind you, those who go against Dragon, are never really, very wise.
Good deed photos were so very boring so the citizens, decided to help it along.
Two brave souls started arguing whether, in it, did the Sheriff or Dragon belong.
Naturally the Sheriff and Dragon ran over to stop the fight in a most perfect way.
As the Sheriff arrived one of the men, suddenly fell down on the ground, to lay.
The sheriff immediately bent over to help the man get up and stand. Amen!
Dragon, who saw it happen, also came a running, from quite a distance, then….
As he got close the other man tripped Dragon. Oh My! What a Day it had been!
Surprised Dragon let out a sizable flame with his also sizeable roar. Such a din!
Flame hit the Sheriff, in his derriere, thank goodness for his fireproof underwear.
Mind you, it’s not like this has never happened, indeed, it’s often with this pair!
Not surprisingly, the photographer readily documented the moment, so sublime!
Yep! This was the winning photo, which became the trademark in record time.
Also, it became the statue to represent, our great little town, of Mayhem Falls.
Needless to say: Everyone was happy, and it was… A Great News Day after all!
Well, for all except Dragon and the Sheriff of Crazyland who grumbled at…
How they should be represented in a much more classier pose than that…
