Best Sprout Poems
The memory span of the average sprout
Means he forgets why the light is out
If life in a fridge will be life without end
Never forget that the dark is your friend
*
And hidden away in a refrigerator
A brave little sprout needs no invigilator
He’d tucked himself between some beans and a leek
And went undiscovered throughout Christmas week
But now that the trifle and cheeses aren’t there
The fridge is beginning to feel rather bare
The spaces within have become wide agape
With few nooks and crannies in which to escape
He’s watched as his friends were all taken and eaten
But this little sprout was too brave to be beaten
He may be just one single sprout, small and green
But he can be ruthless and ever so mean
He knew that the sound of the footsteps nearby
Meant somebody sharing his fridge could soon die
But he’ll stop at nothing for self preservation
He pushed the leek forward without hesitation
It’s dark in the fridge which should aid his concealment
And save him the sight of leftovers congealment
He thought he’d be safe in the darkness inside…
But screamed like a bean when the door opened wide!

Even if you are the tanned sprout
tightly packed
in pretty cane
filled with olive oil
you could not stop to dream about ocean,
lolled by such hopes and illusions
seemed groundless absolutely.
But while your truth is hard and distorted
you will soon unavoidable
unpacked and go to the trip
to the Christmas table
where served with cheese and red wine
for the sweet departure
to the stomachs of more luckier dreamers and gourmands.
I wish you to be eaten by nice lady
if it would you relax and nurtured
for other form of coexisting
in body of whom who devoured us.
But if you are the ended atheist
white a little, headless sprouty,
all of them
who caught, cut, prepared, tanned,
mailed, sold, baught, presented
and ate you
will be combined together
chewed, crumbled, munched
and return to the soil of mother nature.
From where you will select,
ask and have full right to start
more preferable fate and future.

Ignatius Sprout pushed himself to the surface
As he was the foremost elected leader
Followers, Bamber, Gottre, Bovis and Night
were all reluctant to escape their prison
None could remember how or why they were trapped
Bamber's head popped out, flapping his long green ears
Ignatius frowned down at his friend's reluctance
"Up, Up," he demanded co-operation
Bamber slowly blinked, adjusting to the light
Being bumped firmly from below, he hopped out
onto the grassy green, dew wet, riverbank
"Ah! Ah!" beamed Ignatius, pumping Bamber's hand
"It's great?" indicating the Spring countryside
Bamber grunted, mopping his perspiring head
From the hole came Gottre followed by Bovis
Excitedly, the twins jumped giving high fives
Then started prancing about shouting in glee
"Humph" said Ignatius loudly, "you two behave"
Gottre and Bovis did not heed the rebuke
They were obliviously sniffing nasturtiums
And playing hide seek amongst the dahlias
"Where's Night?". questioned Ignatius rubbing his head
Which started itching from a pesky midge bite
Bamber crouched down low and hallowed down the hole
They heard Night's squeaky voice asking them for help
They all hunted around for a creeping vine
The pain of Night stretched their ingenuity
But they managed to lift him by small degrees
Binding his ankle with a soft cabbage leaf
They all ventured forth to a new adventure.

A life so fragile, placed in your hands,
To mold and teach to understand....
To mold a caring and honest soul,
to teach morals, and to set a goal.
To understand feelings, to accept without change,
to love without judgment,
To be a friend
A live, MY life, placed in your hangs,
to watch me grow, to help me plan.
To know one day you must set me free
to live the life I choose for ME.

The tiny seed wasn’t certain it wanted to sprout
It had been through such trauma above the soil
winds buffeting it this way and that
striking sign posts and trees
bouncing off them before being whisked away
once again with no idea when or where it would end
everything out of its control
Finally the gusts died down and it had landed
where it now found itself
trampling feet and the activity of animals
pushing it down into the ground
buried where it was safe and warm
but it knew it had a job to do
so it sent the first small tendril creeping
out of its shell and took a look around
only to discover it had come to rest
at the base of a big oak tree which
shaded the sun
its roots spread in an extensive network all around
selfishly soaking up all the water when it rained
I came across the brown and suffering little shoot
identifying with its plight
as I had experienced much the same metaphorically
since the morning I had emerged
from my mother’s womb
Retrieving a trowel I carefully transplanted it
to a sunnier spot where it might have a chance
to survive and thrive

Sprout
It’s a bundle of joy, God’s miracle indeed,
Profound happiness grows rapidly with the seed
Everybody should enjoy this beautiful phase of life,
It took me months to believe there’s actually a life within life
Thanks to technology, it shows you everything,
At times you just don’t believe what you are seeing
I love your movements, kicks and dance,
Getting a sound sleep; forget it, there is no chance
We are waiting impatiently to hold you in our arms,
And keep looking at you for never-ending hours
A tiny creature, a tiny something,
It’s great to feel a sprout within

Alfa eres mi brote más hermoso;
Hermoso brote, ven planta conmigo
Alfa eres mi brote más hermoso;
Hermoso brote, ven planta conmigo

Are you the mouse
Always hiding in the house
Where no one ever wanted you
To even have a chew
Just as well we don’t all like
As you can go on to fight
With all your small might
To then give us a fright
To those of us that did not choose
To celebrate you
Amongst all the Xmas Poo
Now where is my Christmas Pud
Oh no I just saw where you stood

Fire
Flames
The ring of fire
To surround my soul aims
Fire of hell
Of despair well
Fire burns anything that lives
Vastness greater than ocean is achieves
Just a droplet of water in the endless fiery sea
Fights for its destiny
Droplet of water maybe a tear
In a heat it might disappear
But in this tiny droplet is my soul
And it is I who fire will control
Like a cold northern wind all cried out
And in the midst of it a sprout
Does cold wind have a heart?
Is it moved by art?
In it grows the gentle sprout
That is given water despite the drought
The sprout turns into a tree
A tree full of beauty
It rises above fiery sea
It dictates its own destiny
The vortex stretches from root of philosophy
In the essence of abstract omnipotence is equal quantity
This however ultimate meaning will not be
I will gain that meaning because there is lot of fight left in me

In the land of The Vegetarian,
Lies a land beyond Green Sea
In the realm of the Gourmet Table
Dwells Sir Sprout of Broccoli.
A beaming knight, crest held up high,
Adorned of a brightly wee tree,
The banner of the Green Vegetarian
Inspires Sir Sprout of Broccoli.
Go forth, Sir Sprout, design all green,
Is the bid of the vegetarian plea,
The health of our land is in your hand,
Fare thee well, Sir Sprout of Broccoli.
