Silver Spoons
June 01, 2008

Silver Spoons

The disruption and the dismay left my will fray.

Corrupted and disillusioned are the eyes that see.

Bottled up and distilled are the souls sitting to be.

I’m just stunned they were all left being that way

Duck, duck goose I’ll tap...

The Game of Betrayal
Great opportunities knock in that door
But I’m terrified to see masks on the floor
Everyone pick the pieces of their stains,
Dominantly horrible to see evil as it reigns.

I had a strange premonition when I saw things,
Greed and betrayal is the game that well clings.
To walk in...

Carolina Pines
Turned it loose and got drunk
As a smelly old skunk
On disgusting cheap wine
In the Carolina pines

Shot guns at thin air
(Who the heck gonna' care?)
Weren't it fun, weren't it fine
In the Carolina pines?

Then we REALLY got clobbered
We staggered and slobbered
We wallowed like swine
In the Carolina pines

(In...

Sunburn
Ouch don’t touch it hurts
The sun slobbered on my face
The pain, all for the gain
Of a tan
Red in the face, it’s really a disgrace
We ache, my sister and i
Ooooh the pain, all for the gain
Of a tan
Tender shoulders to the touch,
We really...

What is this, what is that, who is this?
There are words that we don't repeat twice
Especially when we omit the little cedilla
Please, my country is an island, a peninsula
A very pretty country swimming in many seas
It is a sovereign, resilient, proud and free country
Despite...

I once volunteered to babysit a dog; really, how hard could that be?
She looked at me with pitiful eyes, “Would you please watch my little puppy?”

“Sure”, I said, “I’d love to do it. Just bring him over tonight.”
“A little puppy”, is what she said,...

My only thought on love resembles this:
From such a distance I was nearly there,
I watched a couple strip each other bare.
They did a shot and shared a slobbered kiss,
and it was smooth and it went down like bliss.
He was the younger of the stumbling pair,
(she...

The Queen
She is the master
The commander
The monarch
She rules this room
She is the Queen

Her territory expanding
Out into the kitchen
Away to the closet
Conquering through
She shows no mercy

Jumping upon her foe
Striking quickly
Silencing opposition
Preparing for the fight
The beast shows itself

Glaring at her enemy
She bares her fangs
Draws her claws
Ready to strike
A...

Petsmart Stratagem Employed To Generate Business
Upon Googling Petco
regarding purchasing gift card
for eldest daughter
(she tends two beautiful female felines)
Petsmart website appeared right and center
innocuously distracting purported intent.

The nearest latter named store
approximately a dozen plus miles away
whereas former specialty shop
in closer proximity to her,
she (first born offspring),
who resides within Oakland, California.

I readily...

What Did I Do?
I live in worlds of fantasy,
But people won’t just let me be.

It’s not as if I damage things,
Or try to fly without my wings.

I only told them of my dreams:
How every day’s not as it seems.

I told them of my friend, the snail,
That only...

His teeth were crooked, broken, mostly missing
When he spoke he slobbered while he was lisping

So the town gave him this nickname
Sad epitaph to his fateful fame

They say shame is our deepest sorrow
Those who have it, dread every tomorrow

He was homeless yet some let him in...

My Blind Date
My blind date Frank showed up at the door,
his curly hair was slick with grease,
a mad plaid jacket topped his Bermuda shorts,
as a pink ivy-league shirt showed his neck warts.

I took one look and and wanted to run away,
doing a favor for my cousin would...

A slow moving, slimy old snail,
Was stuck upside down in a pail,
When someone kicked the bucket,
He slobbered "Oh 'flip' it!"
And left them a long snotty trail!!...

nothing really.
it is true.
at an age when
the mind is on
permanent vacation,
I float on a bed of soft
feeling, selected memories.
occasionally a thought
creeps in disguised as a
smallish notion then bursts
into a real head-banger of
an idea stamped, to the one
who used to live...
