The Shaming of Slobber Bob
His teeth were crooked, broken, mostly missing When he spoke he slobbered while he was lisping So the town gave him this nickname Sad epitaph to his fateful fame They say shame is our deepest sorrow Those who have it, dread every tomorrow He was homeless yet some let him in A lonely, troubled fella with no known kin Nothing ever worked as hard as he'd try His head always down as he'd pass you by Although he'd found Chrissy's lost kitten Some in our town became quite smitten He rushed in on the hardware store fire In reward, he became the unofficial town crier They found him one cold morning, so sad a farewell All curled up in his street side stairwell They said there was nothing anyone could do Tragically, Bob's real story, nobody knew This happens sometimes with people we see But that doesn't mean it's the way it must be
