Flowing Deep, Those Ghastly Shards Of Regret

Flowing deep, those ghastly shards of regret
and the spasms they birth in weeping soul
no reprieve, caught in that sorrowful net
love's joyous flag no longer had its pole.

Moon was shining and sky was gleaming bright.
That fateful night, I was blind, without sight.

Never saw her again, I ran away
bare truth is, I knew she wanted much more
than a simple life, with simple man's pay
with her fast asleep, I ran out the door.

Moon was shining and sky was gleaming bright.
That fateful night, I was blind, without sight.

Putting distance in our path, out of state
I heard no cries, did not see how she bled
looking back, her love became bitter hate
my mistake seen, I wished to be dead.

Moon was shining and sky was gleaming bright.
That fateful night, I was blind, without sight.

Six years and a million miles I had fled
where sadder path my soul walked alone
yet see her well I could, in her silk bed
in sweet night dreams, we talked on the phone.

Moon was shining and sky was gleaming bright.
That fateful night, I was blind, without sight.

Courage came and I went to her hometown
to beg forgiveness for my youthful fear
I saw her again in her blue nightgown
I ran away, my eyes still wet with tears.

Moon was shining and sky was gleaming bright.
That fateful night, I was blind, without sight.

As moon's rays through my window hit my eyes
then I realized it was a bad dream
nobody could hear my bellowing cries
no, we would never again be a team.

Moon was shining and sky was gleaming bright.
That fateful night, I was blind, without sight.

100 Shards of Pen

Erase a word
Mundane and wrought
Smoldering fire
Of indifferent thought

Pluck a phrase
Wild and untamed
Primordial howl
Of random flame

Sing a verse
Naked and free
Poetic gale
Of crashing seas

Tell a tale
Endearing and true
Passionate prose
Of life’s muse

Ask a heartbeat
Women and men
Who feels

Premium Member Shards Of Insanity

Self-harming's a cry for help,
from a pit of depression.
Where, like a ghost, happiness,
is scary and elusive.

Those who are cutting reject
trite platitudes of pity.
For the pain they feel has been
festering in them since birth.

Shards of insanity cut
into insignificance.
And reality adapts
to abject low self-esteem.

Sparked by emotional needs,
panic ignites twisted nerves.
And only cutting can dull
anxiety's sharpened edge.

The sound of your beating heart
increases as steel cuts flesh.
And yet, for a chance to feel,
fear slips into submission.

Relief accompanies the
flow of blood fleeing your veins.
And you feel alive inside;
as cutting numbs greater pains.

Premium Member Floating Shards of Dream

"a dagger of pain, a tear of grief" - Quote by - Constance La France

With the melodic cadence of my fervent heart,
pulsated the charming tinsels of the mesmeric night,
gleamed my love for you with the enticing tinge,
suffused with the sequins of the silver moon.

I felt in a trance the sweet touch so tempting
of your captivating charisma intangible,
but you drifted away from my engrossed perception
like the autumn cloud wafting in the twilight sky.

In the barren valley of flowers my cataract heart,
cascaded as the stream of melted glacial mind
beyond the turquoise course of lingering longing,
on the desolate plateau I wandered going nowhere.

From the ebony edge of the gloomy night
storm clouds surged with blades of shearing pain,
lacerated the lilting facade of the sky I call my heart,
where the shards of dream floated in tears of grief.

Premium Member Shards of China

China's might is people based
Why are they being so abased?
Free expression under a ban
The locked in souls; woman and man
A nations tapestry; world known
Where are its champions?
Has all reason flown?
An unyielding wall came down
Through Dictates based
On un-safe grounds
The wall is cracking. now stress lines show'
As army's of people aren't allowed to go
To buy a vegetable; or stuff to wear, its so!
Its not a place now; of debate or philosophy'
But of fear, and; oppressive; autocracy.!

Thousand Shards of Glass

A grey area through which we trudge
A thousand arcing shards
Sol, dust on the rift of illumination
A thousand cut-throat shards
Forever lead astray by the light
The boundaries of truth
Oh so tyrannical
Uncontested
.
..
...
Tick, tick
The bell to resound
The fangs to arch in
For a rogue shard could ne'er defy

Premium Member Jagged Shards

You left me late in the night
after all was done and said.
And my heart instantly broke,
waking to an empty bed.

You slipped away from my love
as sleep veiled my trusting eyes.
And my fear became real;
for you left with no goodbyes.

Love was a fantasy dream,
a mirage that broke apart.
And as the fragments shattered,
jagged shards impaled my heart

I'm teetering on the edge,
that defines sane from insane.
My heart is devastated;
and I can't conceal my pain.

Acid tears dissolve color;
leaving only shades of grey.
But I won't give up on hope
and pray you'll return someday.

Shards of Glass

A thousand words in every tear
an essay down her face
the girl that's staring back at her
looks such a damn disgrace
she puts her fist right through the glass
and picks a tiny shard
then drags it right across her flesh
till anger turns to calm

Shards of Light

Heavenly splendour-
 powerful as it shines bright,
  unstoppable light

Fire burns in the sky-
 Demands instant attention,
  no shade hides its might.

Can you protect me?
Power so strong, can not live
  without this sunshine.

Not for contest, just some ideas....still being inspired.
Just for enjoyment

Premium Member Shards of Shanghai

Upturned Chinese roofs
In a soft silhouette
Look so majestic
On top of the hill—
Encompassed in fog
In low light and shadows,
Quite simply surreal—

Boats filled with refugees
Fleeing Shanghai from
The Japanese invasion
‘Midst the chaos of war.
Gentle waves lap against
Boat hulls in dire contrast
To the noisy bomb blasts.

As shown on drawn faces
Fear and faith interlaces
With a hopeful resolve.
Comrades of all races
Are joined in this throng.
They sail away to far places
Not knowing their fate,
As in divine kinship
They now all belong.

Into a Thousand Shards

Burst into a thousand shards
Sparkle, glint in the moonlight
Fall on those who question you
Your integrity touched
And ice cold will you turn
Burst into a thousand shards
Shining in the sunlight
Beauty in your rage
Inspiring belief
That there is more than meets the eye
About this simple and shut in human being
So burst into a thousand shards
Pierce their hearts
Leave a lasting memory
For them to visit
When they forget who you are
Your very own super power
Burst into a thousand shards
A bit for him and her
To keep
A little bit of what it is
To be you
Burst into a thousand shards
Your defense
Against your enemies
For them to doubt
Their advances against you
Burst into a thousand shards
A spectacle of a sight
Before you leave
This masquerade of pretense
The finale of a wonderful life
For everyone to see
What they missed or mocked
A custom made goodbye
For those you love
They’ll be riveted on those shards
Until they turn to dust
In the air everywhere
When the wind blows later on
They’ll know it was you
Your thousand shards of grit and might.
