Standing all alone steadfast and strong
Keeping guard for souls in difficulty
Maintaining my watch all day long

Sentinel, oh sentinel,
lofty by the sea;
lonely on a craggy coast,
standing tirelessly.

Watching over ships that sail
in the dark of night,
guiding them ashore with its
welcome blinking light.

Storms rise up, assailing it -
fierce and turbulent -
causing waves to pound it with
mighty discontent.

Let the tempests clamor and

Oh, will the bricks hold or start crumbling.

Wild and angry is the blustering wind,
Blowing up huge white foamy waves;
Screaming with gale force strength,
Oh, will the keepers go...

Emerged in frothy, churning white,

Sentinel never sleeps;
resting upon water thrashed rocks,
this shining beacon of the sea.
Her watch, sees all,
Her stories sung in shanties,
by old salts;
She holds within the secrets, 
which ocean confides.
She is a lighthouse and 
she never betrays a trust.
