Dear Daniel, your vivid Haiku captures the essence of the "snowy owl's feathers" with lovely sensory imagery. The many "S" sounds in your poem serve to effectively emphasize both the snowy owl's softness and silent stealth. Your appreciation for Nature shines! Warmest wishes my friend.. ~Susan

When I was growing up we used to have a massive tree bordering us, the neighbours and the local school, there was a family of 5 owls that lived in the tree, few people knew of them but the science teacher at school used to go and observe them on a regular basis:-) hugs jan xx

Oh wow, I love this haiku! Your wordplay is spellbinding with that alliterative gorgeousness adorned by every line.. "Soft and white as winter snow" Truly creates a whimsical ambience.. And to end with 'soft sentinel" Ahh, absolutely brilliant this is! The comparison of owl's feathers with snow.. This feels so intriguing to read.. Truly enjoyed reading this artistic poem..

Creatures of flight and beauty. Being a towny, I don't get to see them. The snow has been fleeting this year too.

This is absolutely gorgeous dear daniel, the alliterations and use of descriptive words here and simile used too to compare snowy owls feathers to winter snow, is beyond impeccable: i always love a good haiku, and yours flow so well in such eloquence: especially love the last line. So much has been conveyed in few syllables. Pleasure always reading your work. Hope holidays treat you well.

Hello Silent One, Kudos to you and I am very happy you saw that, knowing that owls for the most part are silent fliers due to the structure of their feathers. - Blessings, Daniel!

Hi Daniel, and Snow Owls really are beautiful. May I suggest you use all lower-case letters. It's proper form for Haiku. Happy Holidays to you.
