MIRROR

so profane
looking me over
head to toe

a counselor
no - a judge
i’m ashamed

you shriek
infinitesimal fragments
fall to the floor
quite mad

i’m stuffed into this tiny dress
no one can tell me i’m too fat
but your teardrops whittle
at my self-aggrandizement

i cheat on my diet
swallow each shard
now you see my heart
and i can’t hide from your eyes

My Dance of Poetry

When my soul and I dance in accord,
Then and only then
Will I be able  to write my poetry.
I cannot get more than I give!

Yes, I comprehend the world is indexed
aselfish place,
Where to be number one muddles all
minds,
And we forget love is more than just
being kind.

To see we bless another soul, is indeed
a noble goal.
Gratitude for this gift of poetry comes
from God.
It's really not our own doing, I realize
that sounds so totally odd!

Staying true, writing my very best
That's all God asks~ it s a noble quest.
We write down our words, we think
They are terrific.
Others look at them as nothing more
Than a traffic ticket.

This is my personal mountain to climb.
To keep on going, even though, this eats
my whole day.
I'm not here for self-aggrandizement,
But to support others on our mutual-
soul trip.

Premium Member To My Newborn Daughter, Years From Now

Standing high upon the knot
In my ladder years,
I claimed to be the king.
Now, the crown horrifies me.
Still some gentle cruise is within me.
Like Saturn turned upside-down.
Would we notice the madness in the crème?
If there’s anyone that’s going to point the way for you it’s me.
Not out of self-aggrandizement, out of pure love,
And full, final redemption for all my short-comings.
How do I stop the avalanche?
Why do I feel I need to stop the avalanche?
Is it really an avalanche?
Or do I like playing with visions,
Responding to my own antics with mock melodrama?
Let the bizarre stay bizarre.
I’ll be in the corner selling coconuts.

Premium Member Seeking Flattery of the Crowd

Like a deadly drug, it makes us dance
Put our nose in the air, turn our backs .
Craven souls, want another chance.
Walking over friends, we call hacks?

On, yes we sign, love, but mean it not!
How many trophies can I win ~ I want!
More flattery, please, as we do begin,
On this racetrack of pride, self loved sin!

Classical poets here, very despised.
Only new poetry forms have a place.
We want only our names in the skies.
Self-aggrandizement, a sad disgrace.

Misconstrued Worship

Unload your appraised earnings
    in the collection baskets,
small price to pay
    for holy water's kickback,
God thundered an indignant snort
    'pon gold filled prospered coffers
within corporate excesses
   of enriched gaudy churches,
wondering when HIS word
  had begotten misconstrued
     in clergy's interpretations
      of powers' self-aggrandizement
       and pontificating gratification;

whilst the huddled masses
    were starving midst the pews

Killing Elect

Though the bodies lay heaped
in gory blood-lust mass
and piled upon vitriol every curse
for the count of corpses
and innocent lives ended
such savagery they inflicted, stirred them not
nor awoke one droplet of remorse

So it was to champagne cork
to scented bath and opulent comfort
they returned victorious
and in each agreeable inhumanity
praised a demonic ideology
tossed their victims bones
from the plateau of banquet

To each addiction of self aggrandizement
the flesh and entrails of someone else's love
trampled below the viscous boot
in cold and soulless
the elitism of wealth
scorned beneath the rubble the life of child
and counted none but themselves of any worth

Such is the unseen war
in distance so far removed from home
but still with Armageddons bloodstained flag
blows on the heat of screams and nationalism
and such is the filth of words
in ignorance and denial so listened to
appeases naught but the condemnation
of those who in hideous glee
consider themselves
above the law
and better than
you.

Premium Member War of Politics

The country is at war again
War of hustle and bustle for power
Power for self aggrandizement
All in the name of democracy

Birds of prey are in full flight
Hunting for the Carcass
Of the comatose nation
All in the name democracy

Friends are turned foes
Adversaries have become strange bedfellows
Scuttling shamelessly from one nest to another
All in the name of democracy

The country is at war again
Tension and pressure everywhere
This is the season of double-speak
All in the name of democracy

Truth stands on its head
Lies of yesterday
Have become truths of today
As mendacity has murdered credibility
All in the name democracy

Decisions

We are on a precipice of War
Yet you spurn the most skilled Knight
Just to stoke your selfish Desire?
You choose pettiness over the Realm

The tempest is Imminent
Yet you let the chief captain disembark
Just to assert your dominance against mutiny?
 You choose self-aggrandizement over Lives.

Oh Master!

Homeless

In the storm of a creator’s inspired landscape
Spirit appeared as though since ever
Its invisible droplets of essence
Embedded in all recipients
Allowing for an errant notion of knowledge

A house without a blueprint
Spectacular in its presence
Boundless in its multiple expressions
Renewing itself without instruction or direction
Other than its own survival

The house the Lord built
That introduced the concept of choice
That begot notions of individuality
That illuminated the capacity for self-aggrandizement
That shed light on definitions of difference
That ignored in Whose Universal image all definitions belong
That enabled His light to become apart
So that only those who understood and sought
Could reach for its encompassing warmth
Thus subjugating even Him
To otherness
A choice

Premium Member Ode To 'Yelp' Duplicity

'Yelp's' a lark, (truth indeed?), maybe servant of greed?
You want 'natural' ratings? Please your advice heed!
Now your model for earning seems blackmail at best,
You pollute client's site with competitor's ad,
Which you'll clear if we pay (proof intentions are bad),
Even Satan can see that Yelp fails 'morals test.'

Many think it'd be nice if Yelp charged a fixed price
(For your model for business strikes me like a "joke!"),
Makes me wonder if someone is not smoking "coke!"
Your assumption the customer's wallet's on ice!
"Good grief guys! How to demonstrate our site is real?"
"Let's pretend algorithm is proof of square deal!" (1)

I have problem with that; few folks sit where I've sat,
No computer is better than logic's format.
Perfect code can't exist for man writes it, just us,
Maybe God knows intent of reviewers at large
But it's clear that Yelp can't, though they might overcharge,
And to obfuscate things throw truth under the bus.

When Yelp stands on 'Fake News,' "CODE BLOCKS TAINTED REVIEWS,"
That's duplicitous (flawed humans write all their code,)
(You can sing this you know for my poem's an Ode.)
Can't deny that some cheat (but that's largely a snooze,)
Wise phrase 'caveat emptor' means "Buyer beware!"
Could it be, Yelp just wants to push us down a stair?

Poet's Notes:
(1) "Fake Science" is no better than "Fake News!" If I am right, Yelp should be held accountable for deceiving the public, for their claims of effective computer monitoring seem self-aggrandizement and exaggeration. The protection from fake reviews they say they offer consumers fraudulent for the same reasons! NO HUMAN can do what they claim that their algorithm does either! Also, there are far too many reviews to handle even if human censors might divine review hype on occasion! The volume of reviews is certainly a good reason for Yelp wanting to have a computer that can do it, however! I suggest their algorithm is "Hockey Puck!"

Our Political Participation

I've come to say a few things about our political involvement,
Important is this because our future is on the edge of precipice,
And is dangerously tilting irreversibly towards enslavement,
If urgently not arrested we pay the unholy bitter Price.

How easily a people once astute and meticulous,
Got swerved towards the edge of political escarpment,
Punders sane mind, so absurd and so ridiculous,
Though it be inflicted by unnegotiated predicaments.

Then make I bold to interrogate and not to despair,
To investigate, scrutinize and not to speculate,
Prescribing solutions so simple and so straight,
Least I be misjudged and suspiciously at glared.

Despise not that which I say because of its simplicity,
For truths, real truths unadulterated are always simple,
And need not be subjected to unwarranted duplicity,
But be accepted by souls learned and simple.

Is this predicaments not caused by lack of participation?
Was it not caused by poor political permutations?
Are we not plagued by lack of proper political calculation?
When against action we choose unfounded speculations.

Have we not indulged so much in self aggrandizement?
Have we not taken the destructive path to political oblivion?
Have we not despised the Zikist ideology and movement,
When we choose "sit at home" in every election?

Refused we not to galvanize 20 million votes for our leaders?
Have we not disdainfully despised our leaders,
And make it practically impossible to organize us?
When we claimed that politics is not for us?

What else on the negotiation table do we bring,
Except the uncalculated threats of secession?
What if on the table 20 Million votes we bring?
That would grant all our interests protection.

Oh! What is he saying? Does it really matter?
All we want is our freedom from this contraption,
Their political system is bedeviled with corruption,
So we do not want to get involved in their matter.

In the final analysis it does not really matter,
What the political system is - whether it be perfect.
We do not need perfect political systems,
We need political participation that's perfect.

I say this one and I cease to say no more,
I Say not everything for want of time and space,
But that we participate even as we continue to ask for more,
As people of peace who for others set the pace.

The Reign Must Fall

The tyrants psyche is broken.
He sits in his gilded palace
Surrounded by his trusty band
Of armed thuggish cutthroats, waiting
For the inevitable end.
Outside the palace walls a crowd
Of angry, loathing citizens
Whose long suppressed voices bellow
An immediate regime change;
But like most tyrants of the past
Ego and self-aggrandizement
Deludes clear, rational thinking;
As a result, grasping at straws
Hoping for the impossible.

The Master

You are the master of self aggrandizement

You have forgotten how to be in the wrong,
Manipulation is your art,
Insidious word-play, gentle put-downs,
Reminders of all my failures are your tools,
I am the dartboard,
Peppered with your sugar-tipped barbs
You push me down with such skill, such grace,
I can barely feel my feet sinking through the floor
And before I know it I’m up to my chin in mud
But still bound to you by my love,
A coiled quicksilver chain
I’ve learned a few tricks along the way, sure
I’ve absorbed the art of soul-scarring, with a smile
I emulate your gritted-teeth cruelty,
Your tender slaughter of self esteem
But the student has not yet surpassed the master
You slice my frailest longings, you mangle my melting heart
And then you kiss the oozing sore you opened
You paper over the cracks with a concerned comment,
An off-hand ‘I miss you’
You mortar the raw bleeding gaps with tenderness,
But in the dead of night, when truth weighs heavy on my chest,
I lie in bed alone and cold, and wonder how much of it is true…

And how much of that affection really comes from you
