Best Secure Poems
When all our intimate poetry
has been spoken
and all the strings of our heart
have been strung
when hope is sustained without question,
will we invite passion's longing,
and welcome vulnerable emotions
to find promises of enchantment,
from the hunger in our tongue's rapture
that will carry our souls into a realm of lost time
and scatter laurels of roses and purple asters before us
to breathe in their fragrant scents
that linger on the breath of sighs
where wishes overflow, from their well
spilling red onto the glorious sunset
bathing our skin in precious moments of solitude
as we lay beneath the altar of the glowing sky
leaving a picturesque bounty of beauty
in our eyes of sensual serenity
that reveals our budding blooms of love
warming the open petals of our inner garden
from a tender transparent kiss
secure in the arms of love
For Timothy Lee
Darling, take me in love’s tender embrace.
Let me nestle close upon your shoulder.
Being next to you is my perfect place.
Sweetness, as our fingers now interlace
I feel your kisses grow fiercely bolder.
Darling, take me in love’s tender embrace.
My Valentine, my eyes touch your sweet face.
I submit my heart to you as holder.
Being next to you is my perfect place.
Your true love is mine by Heaven’s good grace.
Our gold love glows more as we grow older.
Darling, take me in love’s tender embrace.
You are my every day, my secure base,
And I, your soft committed beholder.
Being next to you is my perfect place.
Valentine, I cherish our loving pace.
~ My heart is your clay and you, its molder.
~ Darling, take me in love’s tender embrace.
~ Being next to you is my perfect place.
Bring me your whimsy and dreams
For your future I have seen
You walk along paths with dread
And leave all your wishes unsaid
But I’ve found them here in your heart
Guarded, protected yet dark
Don’t dwell among lack and regret
So much beauty I’ve found in you yet
I’ll whisper your sadness away
You’ll remember once again how to play
Then my love, your hopes and your dreams
Will take flight on my gossamer wings
The world heavyweight title defender
Lost his belt to the leading contender,
But there wasn't a chance
Of him losing his pants;
He was wearing his trusty suspenders.
No star demure, all glow secure.
Astral exhibitionists
Glint for full sheen of their own gleam,
Unabashed, with not to defend.
Quote 1: “The stars are not afraid to appear like fireflies.”
home
comfortable, secure
loving, sharing, growing
anxiety, demands, cleaning, repairing
cooking, shopping, banking
expensive, exhausting
work
I sit
On top of my bed
My arms
Wrapped around my body
Like a child
Holding on to a new
Stuffed animal
I cannot get love
Any other way
So I have to give
Myself embracing hugs
I want to feel
So safe and secure
Why cant I
Ever feel that way
Safe and secure
I want to feel
Someones arms
Wrapping around me
Saying everything
Will be alright
I want those
So much
I cannot have
My wish come true though
So I just have to
Hug myself
So I can feel
So safe and secure
Form:
If I was a house I’d be detached
Secure in my walls, untouched
My roof angled against the rain
My windows, tightly shut, secure
My front garden neat, the back
Garden uncut, scruffy, untidy
My brickwork would be red
My front door council blue
My childhood had yellow doors
We never got the blue or green
My driveway would be long
Keeping the world outside
The gates would have a chain
Wooden panels attached to
The side walls, a gate cut
To enter the garden, via a path
A satellite dish juts from the wall
The signal welcome, the world not.
Because, if I was a house, I’d be detached.

Secure Sea fish
Sea cure no fish
Winter… The memories flood back with this season each year.
You were so warm in my desolate cold world.
My crushed spirit was mended with your touch.
Two lost kids, looking for an answer.
We had thought we found it within each other.
A simple glance said it all.
No thinking about tomorrow, all we need is today.
Adolescent longing for what we could not have.
All of it kept at bay with the promise or our love.
All of it swept away with one swift move of dishonesty.
What Will Make Her Secure?
The tears that have become her nightly doze of Sleep
Her antidote is a husband who CARES
The heavy burdens she carries alone make her Weep
Her supporting hand is a husband who is FAIR
The painful worries of infidelity begets the future to appear bleak
Her balm is a husband who exudes TRUST
The unconditional love unappreciated with a blow on the cheek
Her true worth is a husband whose character does NOT DISGUST
The absence of affection's blazing flames
Her yearning is a husband who sweeps her of her FEET
The verbal abuse that makes her spirit to feel lame
Her healing is a husband whose words are SWEET
The wishing of a family unit as a lone mother
Her bliss is a husband who never quit HOME
The constant hurt of second place to another
Her mind's comfort is a husband who does NOT ROAM
The burning desire to be admired like a Queen
Her thirst's quench is a husband who steps up as KING
The broken promises, that she has always seen
Her security now is a husband who upholds the vows of his wedding RING

Safe, Sane and Secure Horn Haiku
7-7-5
Will feel safe, sane and secure
Through anything can endure
Heart of gold so pure.
(Guess who I am talking about)
He males me feel reassured
No matter what has occurred
On me he has spurred.
Positive environment
He always seems to present
Is with my consent.
Does nt make me feel nervous
To fact is impervious
On any surface.
Even if dry with no rain
Or I might have missed the train
With me will remain.
Helps me through trouble and toil
And always his greatest goal
Is to save my soul.
You must know who I am by now.
James Thomas Horn
Retired Veteran and Poet
I
Feel so
Safe with you.
More secure than
The knots weaved through the core of any tree,
Or the never seen gem heart of a stone.
All secrets are
Safer when
Saved in
You.
My
friends
lay
on
the
cold
concrete
floor,
snoring,
Mocking
their
roles
as
watchers
of
the
night
The
cold
wind
whispered
in
my
ear,
as
the
night
skies
above
reached
for
my
sleepy
eyes
I
waited
and
waited,
my
patience
on
the
edge
For
the
dragging
sun
To
dissolve
the
veil
of
darkness
Hanging
about
my
falling
eyes
Unknown
to
me
Beneath
the
hushed
whispers
of
the
wind
Lurked
black
tongues
of
death
Peering
and
longing
With
a
savage
lust
From
the
depths
of
night
The
agents
of
death
sprang
Bringing
death
in
their
dirty
hands
I
tried
to
say
'hey'
But
a
dagger
blow
to
my
head
Overtook
my
words
in
a
rage
of
madness
I
rolled
and
rolled ,
and
rolled
again
Pangs
of
pain
seizing
my
whole
being
As
I
showed
the
world
my
death
From
my
state
I
listened
in
awe
To
the
sounds
of
death
roaring
with
none
to
save
My
sleeping
friends
knew
not
luck
Beside
me
they
lay,
Motionless,
Their
visions
of
tomorrow
crushed
Their
dreams
lost
and
trashed
Their
voices
and
hopes
forever
stilled
When
I
heard
the
boots
of
death
Slowly
melt
away
I
knew
my
soul
had
lived
to
tell
This
is
all
I
had
to
say
Let
us
not
sit
in
our
huts
Tricked
by
the
stillness
of
night
To
mock
our
role
As
watchers
of
our
nights
he thought
to build a secure home
at the top of a hill
but never thought
a river flows under his feet
