Best Scissors Poems
Rock Girl
You are scissors, and all you can do
is to cut all those paper hearts through.
But I’ve hardened my heart
and before you can start
to destroy me, I’m going to SMASH you!
(Gosh, PD, they won't even permit the ~sign in the title!)
Rock :) paper (: scissors
I got a rock in my hand.
Holding it as tight as I can!
No I won't let this go!
This is 3 wins in a row!
Next time don't pick scissors man!

My paper covered your rock.
You still keep talking lots of crock.
Your crying for another round.
In this one you lay paper down.
Scissors cut paper you silly jock!

Rock breaks scissors,
Paper dolls made from clippers.
Get rid of the smelly fishes
I win your doing dishes
Easy to predict your butter fingers.

I have a theory to test
I always thought scissors was best
When I throw scissors down
A rock comes around
I should have done paper I guess
Next time it is paper I throw
And just like that don’t you know
His scissors appears
And my paper it shears
A rock would have won it and so
The next time it’s rock in my hand
I’ll win it this time – I’m the man
Then his paper comes out
Wraps my rock without doubt
This game I just don’t understand
But you know the next time we meet
He’ll be the one that is beat
I just have to think through it
Don’t know how I’ll do it
But somehow I’ll learn how to cheat

2nd place finish in contest
The scissors are beaten by the rock
Man made steel has been left in shock
Now the rock has been beat
By a flimsy light sheet
The winning paper is where our words talk
My son, Mark is four years old
With scissors he cuts papers and folds
Till he crafts canoe
And once he is through
He'll tag, “Canoe to be sold"
One day he made one so large and tight
To the pool he rushed in delight
And loaded scissors and rocks
As his cerebrum clocks
The paper craft paddled all right
He was so proud like peacock
And unloaded the scissors and rocks
And tried to paddle
He thought it's possible
But he got drowned like a brick
For P.D's contest:"Rock~Paper~Scissors"
You used to be my strength, my rock
I looked to you for comforting thoughts
Till you thinned like paper
Your caring tapered
And like scissors you cut me off
Received 1st place in PD's "rock paper scissors" contest
With scissors, some paper and rock,
He tried hard to make a new clock.
But his efforts all failed,
And, frustrated, he wailed,
‘It ticks but I can’t make it tock.’
Snip away the flesh.
Blood spits
on the unforgiving floor,
stained,
soaked in,
to the point where the tile bursts-
soul helpless, gas exposed
and the poison kicks in-
pounding
pulsing,
running through the intoxicated veins-
that now bulge
from my gullible skin,
hypnotized thoughts,
addicted to devotion.
A pain so good it lingers
as if ripping out each organ
one
by one.
Then the taste of regret thickens-
a sweet intensified swelling-
of what could have
what should have been.
But instead of leaving for death
you clench tight your warm, soft hands
around the scissors,
and carve it out,
chest exposed,
broken.
It always belonged to you
and though you verify,
wanting security,
proof.
It was always you.
You still emphasis the fact
it was different this time
time taught how to forgive-
yet you aren't welling to see it through,
risk,
put yourself out on the tightrope.
Instead of casting your spell
you flee.
And then, purity is revealed.
Mirror image of yourself,
alone,
on the ground,
lifeless,
breathless,
eyes-
a distorted fuzz,
the same, gentle brown-
Petrified with recognition
realizing what you avoided,
what you forced away
came raging, smacking you in the face.
Blood caressing your forsaken goals,
your broken promises
and vital unspoken words.
Never have scissors accessorized so perfectly,
resting gently upon your empty chest
reflecting acceptance,
forgetting reason.
I just want to be me, free to exist,
rest knowing everything inside is seen;
The somber parts also need to be kissed,
if it's love then there is no in between;
Really, can't I simply be who I am?
Tired of only being half a vision;
Start to feel better in this skin then bam!
Intrusive thoughts offer no solution;
Snipping at whatever doesn't suit you
little did you know it always grows back;
What's bitter will bleed bona fide and true;
It's a vibe when you linger in the black;
Cutting into me I don't need sutures,
do not conform me with painted scissors.
A feeling of love is like an infected arm.
You love that arm, you’ve come to know that arm very well.
But sometimes,
you need to cut it off.
This color and shape, oh yes.
Caressing the cold metal,
savoring this joyous moment between my fingers.
A lifetime of symmetry, severed in an instant.
These black scissors were made for me.
This thread bleeds so beautifully.
I must
keep cutting.
I don’t get the love I need anymore.
I need more,
I need more love.
I need more joy.
Snip snip snip.
The fruits of my labor, the carnage of my joy.
I never run out of thread,
It just stops bleeding.
Rock * paper * scissors
G.I.-Joe is all covered in snow.
Lucky Jane cut a metal show.
One- two- three-
The same game as me!
Who's that tie breaker, John doe?
Shelter me with paper above.
Rocks of salvation with love.
Blessing from heaven
Is it 12 disciples or eleven?
Scissors I'm dreaming of~
Rocks bring to much grief
Turn over a new leaf
I found a new plan
Hold the paper in your hand
Find the page of belief.

Some poets duke it out for a win
A rock would be sure to smash a chin
Scissors can’t “cut it” either
But then there’s always paper
Covering rocks to poets’ chagrin
The game represents choices we make
When there’s a poetry prize at stake
Will you cut, cover or smash
To place first and win the cash
How much dignity will you forsake
I’ll use my own paper for my verse
Plagiarism is far too adverse
You think you know how to rock
Until you get writer’s block
Then copy others’ words while you curse

< I once played rock paper and scissors
never dreamed theres so many gizzards
somehow loves this game too
well I just said oh phoo
and had to show them who was wizzard
"Rock, Paper, Scissors" played with my brother
We'd usually fight, then here came mother
I'll thump your head!
Now off to bed!
While our giggles we'd try to smother
How badly you want a ride on my bike
How many times I've said "go take a hike"
To settle this dispute
Rock-paper-scissors...SHOOT!
My scissors crashes as your rock does strike
