Rock - Paper - Scissors

Some poets duke it out for a win
A rock would be sure to smash a chin
     Scissors can’t “cut it” either
     But then there’s always paper
Covering rocks to poets’ chagrin

The game represents choices we make
When there’s a poetry prize at stake
Will you cut, cover or smash
To place first and win the cash
How much dignity will you forsake

I’ll use my own paper for my verse
Plagiarism is far too adverse
You think you know how to rock
     Until you get writer’s block
Then copy others’ words while you curse

That last one was really funny, Carolyn, especially after having firsthand experience with someone plagerizing me! I have seen some people plagerizing here . I'll never get why people have to do that! Especially educated folks!

Subtle humor is the game, words can drive you quite insane, till the master calls a halt n says repent, a little sad but wiser, never mind Elisa, so he tiptoes back to his own little tent:) xo Don
