Let Truth Burn Away Your Deceptive Cloak
Let truth burn away your deceptive cloak
lower vanity's shield, go have a smoke,
even if, a diamond, in love's gold crown
life shows greater rise, after falling down!
In vanity's false, self-proclaimed state
live many victims of their own dark hate,
darkness, its power holds so many keys
to locks and chains, stopping those who would flee!
Look inward to devilish chains of hate
beg mercy and tempt not, a darker fate,
seek the moment, to let kindness prevail
cross joyous oceans under, pure white sails!
Black cloud that holds, your happy life at bay
Is but selfish sin, you have given sway!

Sonnet, ( Living in this dark world, one should seek waiting light )
2nd sonnet
When Night Comes, Be Not Afraid Of Its Dark
When dawn sends rays of hope into your life
allow its golden glow, to wipe away strife
rise to give deep thanks and bow head to pray
seize its power to keep dark world at bay!
When new day, brings a stormy afternoon
believe brighter times will be coming soon
hitch your horse to wagon and give free reign
to trod to heart's true desire and remain!
When night comes, be not afraid of its dark
although new scenes may be scarily stark
have faith that again com'eth morn's first rays
blessings sent to all who sincerely prays!
Fear apathy that oft birth newfound woes
And world's black lies that cry-- anything goes!

Sonnet
What are dreams? Are they a figment of one’s imagination?
are they a form of de'ja' vu created for my future’s fascination?
I wish to wonder and skip to far lands rainbows of iridescence,
but mirages built on moods could depress my inner essence.
Real or not real, they become a part of my consciousness,
illusions of past mistakes as I drowned in obnoxiousness.
I sat by our ol’ white oak tree down by grandma’s creek,
our log cabin was full of generations, but I couldn’t speak.
I had no words to say, only eyes to see my family,
except I was all alone for no one could even see me.
Invisible to the world while lost in hallucinations,
I held phantasm inside my desire to carry a conversation.
Touch…I could not touch…only lost in crowded room,
outside by the oak tree I knew I’d find my gloom.
Deep inside me I wanted to shout out to the world,
and there she came outside, that beautiful little girl.
She was in the corner scrunched down facing the wall,
it was my sister Karen, and I slowly watched her fall.
I tried to run fast to see if she needed help getting up,
but I couldn’t move a muscle and was scarily stuck.
I thought, “how can this happen, she needs my help!”
For I was not around last time she unexpectedly fell.
She wasn’t yet a woman but just a sweet young lady,
too young to see the truth but too old to be shaky.
Immobile and perplexed I tried with all my might,
finally I was released and could help her with her fright.
I held her head in my lap as she cried for over an hour,
I brought her in the house and gave her a warm shower.
I was so relieved and comforted that my voice returned,
oh, what a miracle I saved her with a deep lesson learned.
I woke up in tears, looked up at the ceiling while staring,
for she was truly gone, I couldn’t save my sister Karen.
Sometimes my dreams can bring me pleasant geniality,
other times I wish my dreams would become my reality.

Cancer has quite literally invaded her mind unwillingly
This tumor patiently attempts to steal her beauty
After three neuro surgeries
She awakened and no longer knew me
This monster scarily exposing the brains fragility
Ironically she still speaks intelligently
The look in her eyes previously continually lovingly
Is now constantly unknowingly
Hospital room holding friends and family
To her this enclosing remains empty
Many helping hands extending her thoughts still lonely
My prayers are unending power to defeat her personalities enemy
The afternoon of the third day I'll call my spiritual birthday
Eyelids arose to sun rays and the most wonderful gaze
She said she loved me always and now knew my name and ways
Only tears not words I could display God really knows how to amaze.

I am going to write whatever I want.
A way to express oneself,
dampened by the opinioned,
but still, they're right all the same,
The quality improves,
but the emotion...
As I move my pen,
I stop in motion,
No longer do I smile,
I frown at my creation,
When did this way of expression,
becomes so gruelling,
buffeting me with same feelings,
My pen was relieving.
I want to stop judging my own work,
I want to stop thinking of a good way to rhyme,
I wish in time,
I was told,
That it was fine,
To write and not strike gold,
That your heart's song does not need a grade,
That it's alright,
Let it bloom like an emotion's spade.
But that is not reality,
A critic's not a tragedy,
What really is sickly,
Is the opinions of my own,
If I only write to express,
Why when denounced do I feel to disown,
My work, Again it trails back to this,
The voice in my head,
Its hiss and hiss,
She talks and talks scarily in my tone,
Hissing the dirty truth that is me alone,
The bad is not the critic but the me who takes it harshly,
When will I conceive,
That is it me who should hush,
Not the critic being generous.

Merrily cherries were chatting with berries on bunches of bushes below;
the cherries were scaring the berries with stories that every new berry should know:
"Beautiful cherries are succulent very so we became fruit of the sky,
but pitiful berries on earth where you tarry cannot please the tongue nor the eye.
Innocent berries I pray you be wary for mortal consumption is nigh,
and it must be scary to die along dairy in coffins that they call a pie!"
Hominal creatures with ravenous features were coming to pick their dessert.
But which one will sweeten the pie to be eaten the fruit of the sky or the earth?
"It will be scary when they pluck 'n bury your souls in their pies to digest;
I hear such a pastry is terribly tasty when given a berrily zest!"
Mary saw favor in that which had flavor so she found the cherries the best;
the cherries were shaken their rubies were taken to bake in a fiery chest.
Scarily berries were mourning the cherries who fell to a sugary greed;
although all the berries were no longer wary for cherries are tasty indeed!

Embittered lime slices, that were cut abrasively-
making cutting knife rasp with pain endlessly,
is left of a heart wrung in dry and high on the shores
of love sea that is still tossing in lunar ecstacy,
wound had bled tears acidic and abyss sad.
Unsate and childlike at the dry cherries of a mother bosom
hungry me was on a chase like a bird shot
eyes forlorn in anticipation and heart thudding
at the slightest driblet of a look and hook of warmth sweet
I found you looking in from drify soul's door ajar.
Coincidence and confluence made us what we are
pals and smiling ghosts of the grievous green amour scars
fulfilling and filling like nectar in cookie you held me afar
brought scarily near and left those wispy soft marks
the soul was no forlorn sole but paired without a mar.
treasures I do treasure as I tread the treachery mare
all care, that is adequate, is spent in keeping it frame bare
as we build the palace slow, low and aglow with emotions and slight passion
caressing the hurts that still hurt painlessly deep down in core bastion
I vow and stow and grow to keep you in my stride, style and stashin'.
Guess you would not be bud crusher!

We live on the idyllic Island of Cyprus.
In 2008 this place became home for us.
Surrounded by The Mediterranean Sea,
It is that very sea than unnerved me.
I have spent many hours down at the beach,
Always making sure I am well out of reach.
Of that surging sea, waves rolling in at me,
Relentless waves that crash and die, scarily.
The vastness of the mighty sea doth roar,
Only to end it's life as a whimper on the shore.
It's not the power of the sea that unnerved me,
Or it's consistent waves of unstoppability.
I can understand why King Canute got upset,
For all his commanding, his feet still got wet.
I remember thinking when I was at a low,
That sea is telling me the way I should go.
Keep on rolling at my personal shores
Keep on knocking on all those closed doors.
Never be stopped by those stumbling reefs,
Battle on regardless, fulfill your beliefs.
Waves never stop, 'til they reach the shore,
For behind them are coming many more.
Telling us to follow the dreams we have planned,
Don't just let them roll in, only to die in the sand.

A New Monster on the Loose
By Elton Camp
I suppose that honesty is never a defect
One product’s name is so scarily correct
For it is certainly a monster, yes indeed
For a day, no more sodium or fat will need
It’s Hardee’s fast food we thank for this treat
The Monster Biscuit for breakfast is complete
It contains bacon, sausage, ham, egg and cheese
With a made-from-scratch biscuit holding these
It has more cholesterol than you need all day
For only a bit more add hash rounds, they say
Included in this (at no extra charge):
2300 mg sodium (1 tsp. salt) [Daily Value = 2400 mg]
275 mg cholesterol [Daily Value = 300 mg]
18 g saturated fat [Daily Value = 20 g]
57 g fat [Daily Value = 65 g]
30 g protein
38 g carbohydrates
790 calories

you're goodness overwhelms me
I an scarily take it in
you broke my chains and freed me from sin
you showed me love and compassion
and pulled me out the deep dark pit
and in my life your light you lit
you made my darkens bright
and stood by me both day and night
you still loved me when I did things that I wanted to do
and now my life I give back to you
I am sorry for the times I may of had doubt
and my life with you I can not be without.

At dusk I wait for you, have waited
like the whisper of flies that are lost
on land and I am clutching the rails.
The wind is stronger than I, but my feet,
scarily, are becoming fixed
against the cold, deep stars.
They are drinking and speaking Portuguese
below and it's beautiful heard on water,
but in a different way, kind of
like a tale told over and over again
in an ancient language, or tonight
where our silence tells well of the living.
I wait for you, and laugh
at the thought of Parmenides on the sea.

Not for any contest.
The large airplane wobbled slightly,
Someone just screamed impolitely.
An announcement urged all for calm,
Lying was she without a qualm.
The airplane wobbled scarily,
Outside a storm raged terribly.
In vain the speaker asked for calm,
Someone began to pray a Psalm.
The first pilot announced his plight
Ordered someone switch off the light.
Bags and sachets put on the ground,
Seat belts a must, no change around.
A quick landing was now a must,
All in God had to pray and trust.
Luckily a large field spotted.
The plane landed, all exhausted.

Knees bent, slightly
Right elbow in at side, tightly
Squeeze buttocks, mightily
Shoulders squared, rightly
Chin tucked into neck, militarily --
Breathe in and out, warily
Left arm ramrod straight, scarily
Right arm looser, barely
Head still, completely
Feet shoulder width apart, neatly
Now address the ball, discretely
OK! Keep all those instructions firmly
in mind, and just try and HIT THE LIVING
DAYLIGHTS OUT OF THAT TINY WHITE
BALL -- without twisting yourself into
a human pretzel ~ so sweetly

I'm wild and sometimes even heartless-can-be,
I'm fond of collecting illusions to ruin,
I'm breaking the rules life has written for me,
"Create to destroy" best describes what I'm doing.
I'm scarily dangerous, silently loud -
A walking disaster you'd better ignore,
The pain in the neck of a desperate crowd.
But I'm like a magnet - you'll only want more.
You'll figure me out, you'll get to the core -
One beauty, two fears, three dangers - it's me.
You'll enter my heartspace and close the door
For anyone else who I wanted to be.
My truth was denying devotion and faith,
And now you've proved right the opposite true.
A chain of mistakes is the sign of my days;
My strength will forgive me - it led me to you.

In a little sleepy town
Lived a boy named Jerry, quite the clown
He loved to make the people scream
And crept upon when was not seen
He loved to play awful jokes
Creating ghosts made just from ropes
And hiding in the alley ways
To scare the people through the days
His family was just horrified
And told him it was unjustified
How people would not go out at night
For fear that they may get a fright
But one night waiting in the dark
Old jerry heard something pass
It sounded like a gust of air
But jerry did not seem to care
Then on his shoulder it did tap
And gave his heart quite the attack
He said you did scare me so
But didn’t turn to see this foe
But as his eyes looked behind
He saw a figure that looked quite kind
But then he lifted off the ground
So silent and did not make a sound
It was a ghost and there he stood
In black and draped just with a hood
Jeremy did start to cry
But no one came to sympathize
And so he ran inside the house
Looking white and like a mouse
And panting quickly at the door
He locked it tight sat on the floor
His mother said it seems to me
A ghost you have seen so scarily
He looked at her and to his surprise
Her face was white with painted eyes
It was you he yelled so loud
Yes she said and you see now
That scaring is only fun for you
And something that you shouldn’t do
So now he stopped the trickery
And was more fun because you see
If you don’t like it done to you
Then un to others you must not do.
