Not for any contest. The large airplane wobbled slightly, Someone just screamed impolitely. An announcement urged all for calm, Lying was she without a qualm. The airplane wobbled scarily, Outside a storm raged terribly. In vain the speaker asked for calm, Someone began to pray a Psalm. The first pilot announced his plight Ordered someone switch off the light. Bags and sachets put on the ground, Seat belts a must, no change around. A quick landing was now a must, All in God had to pray and trust. Luckily a large field spotted. The plane landed, all exhausted.

Wow, an exciting piece. I used to pray during every take-off and landing which is when most mishaps happen. A thrilling poem Victor. I strongly believe in prayer helping any situation. Blessings xxoo

Says much: Someone just screamed impolitely! My husband had a scary situation where before the pilot could finish his sentence the plane went sideways with the wind. Upon disembarking my husband saw the pilot who was covered in beads of sweat…a close call.

Oohoo! A rough landing is so much better than a crash. Great job here. Loved it. God Bless, JB/

Nice writing with a compelling story, Victor. I enjoyed reading it, although it probably increased my angst about flying a little. Seems like a really good pilot!

It's difficult to remain quiet in facing something as terrible as that, Victor. I'm pleased that they all arrived safely. The initial fear has subsided, and the sense of serenity has returned! Dear Friend, you have written a fantastic poem.

The pilot carries the day. You are right --calm is needed in situations like the ones you describe, but often hard to come by when in panic.

Victor, I did my flight lessons years back and once had an emergency situation where I didn't think I could make the landing, luckily, I made it down without a scratch, though my ego was slightly bruised. Anyway, I can truly relate to your story. Thanks for making me reminisce!...ab
