Best Saddam Hussein Poems

Saddam Hussein has outlived all adjectives,
A demagogue, an anti-Christ, a dictator
Was he the hero larger-than-life images
A tyrant, Baghdad butcher, a monster.

Raising one’s voice against him will result in,
One’s daughter raped before his own eyes
Even they can lead a Kurdish woman
To sell her body to feed her two kids

One leader for heroism lampooned as a clown,
The Second, no doubt, a salesman of used cars.
The third, waging bloody wars, seeks the crown,
Fake cries, political motives, baking their breads

Undoubtedly it is about the politics of oil surely
Man who raised Saddam became a Saddam purely?.

A Mother's Prayer

I kneel in front of the alter praying the rosary to keep my sons protected while they’re serving their country to keep us safe.

As the Persian Gulf War drew to a close, Saddam Hussein ordered six hundred wells to be blown up and set on fire that burned for seven months so no one would benefit from its riches. In the meantime while the Navy ships were in close fighting providing navel gun support, the men were inhaling the smoke of the Kuwaiti oil fields fires. Livestock and other animals perished from the oily, mist.

down on bended knee
for strength and serenity
suffering heart prays

Premium Member A Questing Eulogy

It is nearing 09/11
I feel the years roll back
And what I wish was just a dream
Consumes me with the coldest fact.

That unwary citizens that day
About their daily task
Came face to face with hateful death
And fell beneath his grinding axe.

What legacy, what epitaph
Can justify their deaths?
A stinging gauntlet slapped our face
For years the challenge went unmet.

So long the villain did run free
The whole world knew his name
It was Osama Bin Laden
We laid to rest Saddam Hussein.

A tale to tell our young ones
I know not yet what history say
Only time can dull the awful pain
But I still get sick about that day.

My heart never cease to ache
I dream of souls in agony.
Why does it seem that just the bereaved
Can grasp my questing eulogy.

For awhile it seemed we'd never see
Sharp justice bye and bye
Some wagged their heads to realize
We had no ' catcher in the rye.'

A healing came I can't explain
To fill the hollow depth
Ground zero is recovering
It seems that most the tears are wept.

Then a mystery befell us
Something never seen in history
The first black U.S. president
And our 'catcher' soon to be.

Not at all what we expected
Yet it happened just the same
By his hand Bin Laden was bested
And the world 'seemed' right again.

                    Yet
There's a tide that's rising in the south
And rumors of an eastern gale
The west best post a strong lookout
And then, if all else fail.....?

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

The Death of Saddam Hussein

It's been a long time since Saddam Hussein was executed by the Arab authorities and the U.S. Armed Forces (the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Air Force). This guy had been terrorizing the entire Arabian nation since the Cold War and Operation: Desert Storm. Saddam had been torturing people for no reason and chopping up his victims limb by limb. The Arabians and the Americans are glad that Saddam Hussein's dead, especially for what he did to these people, even his wife. It seems that he had pure hatred toward other people, including us Americans. Saddam was responsible for the deaths of all innocent Iraqi's citizens. the loser was also responsible for starting the war games in Iraq and stuff. Mr. Hussein was the President of Iraq until he was captured by the U.S. Armed Forces and the then-President of the United States of America George W. Bush. Saddam Hussein was just like Osama Bin Laden, even when that guy killed all of the U.S. citizens in New York City on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. And because of Hussein and Bin Laden, the United States of America had lost its innocence, even since 9/11. Not only was Saddam Hussein a gutless coward, but on top of all that, he was also a womanizing cheater and a heartless assassin, too, as well. But now that this human-killing, soulless, heartless Neanderthal has been executed for starting war games, terrorizing unexpected citizens of Iraq, and killing the men because they couldn't get jobs, go to school, or whatever (good riddance), the Iraqis back in 2004 had moved on with their lives. and not only is Saddam Hussein dead, but Osama Bin Laden is also dead. And as far as the Iraqis, the U.S. Armed Forces, and the U.S. citizens are concerned, the giant Pit of Inferno is exactly where they belong. We all wish Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, and other terrorists had never been born.

Propaganda

(27/02/2012)

Do you know how to make wrong things right?
Just sprinkle a bit of propaganda on it
And let’s wait for it to be absorbed
The taste will affect how you burp

Propaganda can drag you to your zero
And guide onto what they want you think it is
Want some proofs?
Some might think Hitler was a hero
Need more examples?
On the other case, how about Osama’s fame?
How many people had shared his demonic brain pattern?
Or to flip it up,
Did you think he was dangerous if media hadn't chased his tail?
They say Saddam Hussein was an evil
Do you have any idea he was a hero for his people?
What about Mao Zedong? Or even Lenin and Stalin?
They were sure three persons shared one hell’s praline

Those people were mean, but try to count their lovers
How massive it was how they manipulated their bloopers
From speed up hoax to media coverage
Propaganda leans on people with money and power
So, peek in to both sides of propaganda leverage
Before you become victim of news platter

---------------------------------------------

*Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position. They can be manifested in the form of posters, nonobjective news coverage, etc. Usually propaganda used in politics to affect people of the country that what they do is the right things and for their sake.

It is very interesting to study propaganda (for me :D), they can be affected by idiosyncratic of a leader and also education level of the citizen. The more educated they are, the more they will be saved from propaganda. As they can analyse things from both sides.

Last Day

What? One day to live what shall I do?
Should I bungee jump or play the didgeridoo?
Go to the pub and run up a tab?
Maybe see every street from the back of a cab?
I know I will jump on a flight heading to Spain,
From the back of the plane, shout “Revenge for killing my brother Saddam Hussein”

Or, go into a shop and take a bite out of every chocolate bar,
Yes and take a baseball bat and bash my neighbour’s car
Or set my dog on my boss and tell him he has rabies
Chat up as many women and make lots of babies (worth a try in one day)

And when time is about to run out I’ll bend over
And kiss goodbye my grass and favourite clover

But the only thing that I can think at this moment that is not mine
That is, all this thinking what to do, I’ve run out of time
So with my last breath all I can say
I think I’ll leave you and go to pray.

What a year – Tim was just a little boy of 25 – naïve and

Lost in ‘innocence’ a critical time bomb waiting to happen

Blue-eyed he listened to Nena’s 99 Red Balloons flying high

While Band Aid wondered whether They Know it’s Christmas

Sticking plaster for an ignorant conscience

Plasters cast for broken souls and hunger

Summer Olympics in Los Angeles the world disunited

As the Soviet Union boycotted the Festival of Youth

Hollywood and Universal Studios Footloose competed

With The Killing Fields for consumption and Oscars

Dancing in full view of the Apocalypse

Khmer Rouge and Holding Out for a Hero

Miner’s Strike in Great Britain with Margaret Thatcher’s

Heavy handbag crushing legitimate opposition’s pickets

Reagan became ‘acting’ president and Space Shuttle discovered

That we have only have one lonely planet so we must muck it up

Cold War awaited nuclear freeze and

Hiroshima was declared a minor aberration

Metallica roared Blitzkrieg inferno and Armageddon

Iraq fought Iran and guess who was supporting whom

The US supplied Saddam Hussein with poison gas while

In Afghanistan they supported Taliban and Mujahedeen

‘The enemy of our foe is our good friend’

Coalitions must change freely in axes of evil

George Orwell comes to mind with Eurasia Oceania and

Eastasia altering alliances but then history must be forbidden

It can mislead young minds and wars have to be waged

For the sake of gory glory and self-righteous delight

Who reads books anyway and why and for what

They might seduce us to hail love and compassion

In 1984 Tim longed for flowers in hair scribbled Peace signs

On flare bottom jeans 20 years past The Sound of Silence

Had not mustered the courage yet to challenge the inevitable

Collusion of his inactivity with happy murder for money and oil

Slowly though he finds his belligerent voice and

Concludes that the 80’s offer more than nostalgia

The Great Narcissist

“I will be unbeatable in 2020.” Trump said at the end of 2017.

What is wrong with the great narcissist?
Doesn’t he see the writing on the wall?
Doesn’t he feel the pounding on his golden door by Mueller
and the clamor of millions of Americans shouting
“It’s time to move on to jail, liar.
You and your ilk do not have any time left to screw Americans anymore.”

You, Trump, show the height of arrogance of a pampered, cuddled child
who was never taught the manners and humility street children have.
When you show fake positiveness as the truth hits you in the face
crumbling everything around you, showin the ignorance of an uncivilized dolt

Soon you and your family of corrupt people will be a family of jailbirds,
assuming the judiciary is responsible and does the job they were chosen
You, justices, were entrusted to do justice regardless of the person’s wealth,
position and political affiliation

You may try to hide like Saddam Hussein did, but you are a loser, Trump,
and can’t hide anymore, anywhere.
The whole world looks upon you with disdain.

The American people now know all about your misdeeds of making money off the presidency (a crime) and cowering before Putin (our enemy). Shameful.

In case you forgot, you were representing the United States of America,
not the United States of Trump, a dream that never was and never will be
The United States citizenry knows and remembers
what you have done to our country and will show it at the polls

The bell of righteousness tolls loudly, Donald Trump,
The bell of guilt tolls for thee.

Bombing Indonesia

Bombing Indonesia
So they broke the law and smuggled drugs etc. How about we drop some 1000lb bombs on Jakarta and nuke each individual Indonesian air force, navy and army base? FOR A BIT OF FRIGGING FUN? FRIG YEA. What comes around goes around.

The Aussies lied on scrapping their F-111s. A recon bird flew high over Indo land. She drew up the motley bunch of Flankers and got splashed. As intended. She was unmanned. Manned F-111s went in and cluster bombed the Indo bases. F-18s gave top cover.

When the flankers showed up, the F-18 pilots confirmed what we all knew: the Indo Flankers had no missiles. Just a gun. Every Flanker was brought down. Their F-16s did better and splashed two old Hornets. But the Indo F-5s got three Super Hornets, in turn being wiped out by the Super Hornets who were actually bombers. A pilot smelling blood is a rabid dog. Reports of gunning civilians are that, reports.

There were some who said that Indonesia under the Soviet dogs was better armed. Equipped with Badger bombers and Fishbed fighters. Could they resist Australia? And bomb the F-18 bases? Or be like Saddam Hussein and wiped out? Indo Flankers did no better. War, all for a few executions...

Are they not a treasure house of history, wisdom, and experience?

Deep Within Throes of Writers Block Cerebral Cortex Feels Frozen To the Core

Deep within throes of writer's block cerebral cortex feels frozen to the core

Haint no rhyme nor reason
why writing a poem such an arduous chore
twenty two days afore
winter solstice twenty twenty more
or less three weeks from tomorrow
November thirtieth, I implore
the god/goddess of poetry,
perhaps found within Bangalore
highlighted by the 'Green Door'
guarded by the key don Eeyore
also known as Al Gore
him of Earth in the Balance fame
who by George got ambushed unsure
if he chad chance to claim victory tour
when former candidate did score
less electoral college votes
nevertheless in my mind before
thoroughgoing count did ignore
discarded ballots scattered
all across the floor
which outcome incurred Iraq war
insinuating weapons of mass destruction
the gung ho forty third president forswore
existed but quite a few
respectable Republicans did abhor
pinning such ambiguous lore
upon head of recalcitrant Saddam Hussein
bombed back to stone age
think lavishing primitive home decor
no imprecation heaped and hurled
upon United States military, nor
thug, who nobody did adore
asking politely "por favor
can I pretty please take detour
to Galapagos Islands of Ecuador
made famous courtesy Charles Darwin
still popular best selling author
at garden variety generic bookstore
which borders on ridiculous for sure
yet inane rhyme tore
thru my noggin after writer's block
yours truly did deplore
he would spend countless hours in vain
every burst of creativity I did explore
found me smack dab against
figurative cul de sac and bonjour
to you too three score
orbitz after me late papa did bore
mama, she passed away
fifteen years before.

Contest Poem: 1984 Or 2017

1984 or 2017 (For Contest)

I ran as far away as I could
It predicted we'd fail, that all would ...
We humans revolt against "ought" and "should."

Orwell knew better - O well, you say!
In 1948, as one War seemed to give way
To a quieter, colder one, he penned away

We are all equal, but some are more equal
Between "Revelation" and "1984" one is a sequel
The last hope, the "last trump" renders us unequal

To the chosen, Napoleon and beasts like him,
(all rather uncouth but dressed to impress and kill)
Yet patience is preached; leaders are ordained by Him

Saddam Hussein had a name with "dam" in it
The anti-Christ may be smoother, imitating the Holy Spirit;
Lighter is not always whiter, or righter - I mean "right"?

Before Napoleon, the Books of Romans and Corinthians stated
We all fall short of the mark, God's standard (always hated!)
Not in love, in democracy or "progress" as we get highly educated

I, too, may be a recovering chauvinistic pig
My prayer is that my current Christian wig
Is of the New Man, kosher, sans hate, with Shalom, sans intrigue

Faithful with God's Spirit, loyal to His Son
From heaven all humans look alike, in hate and unforgiveness - one -
The last trump may usher in True Government, God's Kingdom!

Nationalism, Russia, Jingoism - Part 999

I
If your national and ethnic loyalties cannot understand other views of YOU, how are u better than Putin & his supporters?

Study ethnoi, ethnicity, nationalism ... And European wars (numerous) even under the Church - plus the CRUSADES, and we are just as right & WRONG as Hitler, Saddam Hussein & Vlad Putin. Yeah! Did Vietnam War reveal ignorance about nationalism, communism, or anti- imperialism? More?

II
America got one thing right: you may have various ethnicities, but there is one Nation. But USA had to fight empires (French, British, Native American) to create this enlightened nationalism under European experience. Sad, the Native Americans had little european-style experience of State violence (militarisation)

III
Indian, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani nationalism shows ANCIENT PEOPLE - ONE CULTURE can crash on the rocks of rather new, modern language and religion. First we divide on religion, then the same faith-peopke divided again. Pakistan and Bangladesh broke up Pakistan (in the 1970s) & went to war on one base called linguistic nationalism (think Belgium!)

IV
Knee-jerk reactions to fellow poets is not a healthy poetry site. Do we promote Jingoism? Another word for ethnocentrism? That's why BLACK LIVES MATTER surfaces with opposing hate back & forth, not much communication

Summary: Nationalism gives off much heat and hate, not much light.

Premium Member Sleeping Dogs

The unknown is always buried
Life is always hurried
Laziness is not inherited
A man of color is still much hated
Is trust jaded?
Will Saddam Hussein ever be charged?
Ask Bush if Osama Bin Laden will ever be captured.
Will the truth ever be told or exposed.
Peace in this life time will never be pursued.
Children of the millennium seem dazed and confused.
Why does America allow drugs in but don’t help the abused.
Has democracy disappeared?
Is the existence of Alqueda or terrorism what’s really feared?
Let sleeping dogs lie, don’t let them be awaken.
Because the wild can never be the tamed.
Fools and criminals are never ashamed.

Psalm 139:11-12 If I say, 'Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night
around me,' even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden
his face from you, so that he will not hear.
