Best Ruggedly Poems

Nadir
Summer's salty doom knocked
ruggedly as I lay on the
sheets of tormented
threats and turmoil.
Jerks at the slightest beep.
Gasps at a faint knock.
Soaked in muddy debts
of frauds. A muscle pull of shame,
death's soulful companion.
The world didn't stop cascading.
I did. My brain froze....

I wake up at 5:30 most mornings
Before the sun has a chance to rise
Head for the bathroom as fast as I can
To get rid of yesterday's Mai Tai

I let out a great big sigh of relief
As I wipe the gunk from my peepers
Stand in front...

Premium Member Unicorn of the Sea Jaunt
Under an orange sky and giant rainbow, Mestor, the free spirited son
of Poseidon, God of the sea, earthquakes, storms, and tamer of horses, climbs upon
his Narwhal, the unicorn of the sea. Setting off with bounding leaps through the
waves the beast travels...

This self-explanatory English poem of mine was originally drafted Monday (evening) August 5, 2013, while I was still in Independence, Missouri. I revised it a bit in November and December of 2014, while “traveling” in Arizona and New Mexico.

50 Shades of Gay
Now pick apart
My S E X U A L I T Y
and tell me these traits
That must define me.
From my heads to my tippy toes
Am I more man or Mo?
Dont hesitate
While you emasculate
They must call you Webster
Because you act like now.

Is it because-

I dye...

Grandpa's Treasure Chest
Grandpa's Treasure Chest

In the corner of the attic
covered with a dusty tarp
Was a neat wooden chest
It was stamped 1942
Excitedly I opened it up
hearing the hinges creak

Inside to my suprize
were pieces of Grandpa's life
His uniform from WW II
It was folded neatly in...

Believe
Believe

Often in life a person does strife
And unknown to others you really can do
In some cases a man needs a wife
Who can work as hard as him to.

The hills straight ahead
May not be ruggedly dead
For often in life, life’s purpose
Can be steadfastly strenuous.

If you have...

Kissed By a Frog
A fictional account as told
from a woman's perspective

Well, croak me ...
I just got kissed by a frog
Some gangly man,
looking like Lincoln, Abraham ...
an untanned man I didn't even know,
seems he hit the Lotto
I was standing next to him when he found out,
and the ghost-faced man...

Kamama and the Cowboy (Prose)
She had the physique
of a greek Goddess
olive sun-toned skin
from heritage past

her pearly smile
both warm and inviting
vulnerable and innocent
as that of an infant child

named for the butterfly
her spirit yearned to be free
to soar beyond the dreams
her ancestors were denied

she saw the eagles
with wings of silver
soaring,...
