Kamama and the Cowboy (Prose)

She had the physique
of a greek Goddess
olive sun-toned skin
from heritage past

her pearly smile
both warm and inviting
vulnerable and innocent
as that of an infant child

named for the butterfly
her spirit yearned to be free
to soar beyond the dreams
her ancestors were denied

she saw the eagles
with wings of silver
soaring, hovering
over mountainous teepees

attracted by the light
and myths of old
the journey began
on her 21st udetiyisgv......

He was ruggedly handsome
with a chiseled physique
just as tall on the ground
as he was in the saddle

living life the way he rode
hard and recklessly
with little regard for anyone
including himself

years on the circuit
became dreams unfulfilled
yet he remained
branded with false hopes.......

their attraction was immediate
which few could understand
the results were predictable
as clear as signed treaties

his approach, tender and smooth
deceit from the start
but free spirits, trusting, unaware
soar with the heart

he forced himself upon her
extinguishing her youthful life
a butterfly freed from a cocoon
carved out with her own knife

and history, again repeats itself.........
